People always debate Shaq without Kobe and vice versa, but comparing their stats from last seasons playoffs when they were on the court together. Kobe produced more wins for the Lakers when he lead the team in scoring.

The Lakers were only 5-5 in the playoff games Shaq led the team in scoring, while Kobe posted a record of 8-4 as the leading scorer.

nice find and post shape, I think this team has the potential to be good..I htink Odom and Caron have the ability to match Shaqs offensive production, not his presence on the court but they should be able to average 21 ppg combined...Odom is a good rebounder, Caron can pull down some boards...dont be surprised to see this Laker team as a top 5 in the west.

You Are Way Off My Friend
Is Not Kobe Stats Vs Shaqs Stats
    It Is Kobe Without Shaq
If Shaq Didn't Play I Would Say You Have A Point But As Long As Shaq Was There You Don't
Why Are Ya Laker Fans Keep Saying That The Lakers Are Going To Be In The Top 5 In The West Are Dead Wrong
If You Think About It How Will They Beat The Spurs, Min, Houston, Dallas, denver, Sacraento And Phoenix At Least 2 Times Or More To Became In The Top 5 In The West

Obviously the point of the post went way over your head. It has EVERYTHING to do with Shaq being on the court. The point was to show the Lakers are better off in keeping Kobe, because down the end of the season he was the leader for the Lakers, not Shaq.

I specifically choose the playoffs because both Kobe and Shaq played on the court and it was during crucial situations. The post-season is the time when players should be at their best, and when Kobe was at his best versus Shaq at his best, in terms of scoring, the Lakers had a better win-loss record with Kobe.

Who mentioned anything about the seedings for next season?

If you want my prediction you can find it HERE

Very nice work, but it doesn't really take into account much. For instance,
in the finals, when Shaq was trying to lead the way and Kobe was dead meat,
you credit Shaq with an 0-3 record. Couldn't one as easily use these numbers
to say Kobe should have helped more in the finals? It's just another example of
how you can make numbers say anything you want. How about doing the same
chart for Rebounds instead of Points? Or shooting percentage?

Ok first of all, we don't use that website, and secondly, we don't appreciate spam being presented to our basketball board. Expect to receive a warning.

Personally I see them only finishing as high as the #7 seed with their current roster.

Your other statement still does not make any sense. Why can't the stat be judged with both players on the court? Comparing the record of the Lakers with both of them on the court is a more valid arguement then comparing Shaq with or without Kobe.

And why? Because the Lakers have never built a team around Kobe and Shaq has not played without Kobe for the last few seasons. So anyone's guess is as good as the next person's.

Having Shaq and Kobe on the court, with Kobe as the leading scorer, led the Lakers to a higher winning percentage in the post-season. It doesn't get anymore black and white than that.
