That's tough, but he would pretty much get a whole country's fans, depending on how he plays. Just look at how much Canada loves Vince and every one of his actions are examined under a microscope. In LA, he's pretty much invisible, especially with the Lakers and Kobe taking all the attention.
Carter did so much for Toronto though... I mean look at his charity games.. it's better than anyone else's charity games for all I know... I don't know.. but maybe Maggette could become a second coming of Air Canada.. but it'll sound wierd.. Chuck Swirski's line would be "I don't believe it!! That was sick, wicked and nasty, Air Canada MAGGETTE!" lol!
heh heh...sorry for disgusting you guys with that houston trade. I just wanted to see Vince reunited with Tmac..thats all. I just wish the raps would surround vince with a great supporting cast.
Wow if we could ever get Brand I don't care whether we had Bosh I'd do it, but Clippers would never do it, and Brand > Carter. You also don't trade a big for a small, and Maggette has slightly less value than Carter, because he doesn't have the franchise player tag, and though he's younger he isn't as good yet, and also gets injured a lot, just not as bad. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting VinKanaddy:</div><div class="quote_post">Carter did so much for Toronto though... TRADE ACCEPTED Due to Toronto and Milwaukee being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Toronto and Milwaukee had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. -------------- Just another Random trade, I'd do this in a heartbeat..</div> Milwaukee just went crazy and threw their future away. Redd cannot be traded because you won't get worth for him since he makes 3 million and is just below Kobe, Tmac, Pierce, Iverson, Allen and Vince in the SG list, and I'd put him ahead of Rip, no other good SG has a contract like that. If they traded him they'd get jipped because they'd have to give a lot of players/contracts. 2 pretty good big men, 1 very good SG, and one above average swingman for Vince, Donyell and Moiso?

He might not even be mentioned in the top ten players if he played on a U.S. team, and he wouldn't get the media attention down there that he gets here in Canada (at this point and time might be a good thing for him, but overall, he wouldn't be the focal point) All the broadcasters in Canada and many in the States refer to him as 'Air Canada Carter', which represents Canada with a lot of pride, but...what would they call him if he played in the states? shaq = diesel / the big aristotal / shaq daddy kobe = #8 lebron = king james carmello = mello damon stoudamire = mighty mouse classics jordan = air jordan / his airness julius ervin= dr j Earvin johnson = magic johnson Vince Carter = air canada / vincesanity
and we can't forget The Glove, The Human Highlight Reel and The Round Mound of Rebound (Barkley), all classics. I'm not so crazy about the current trend of using the players initials and adding in the numbers...like CB4 etc. It's not creative (with the exception of AK47 which is cool).
how bout Oh My Bosh! but i guess that doesnt really work as a nickname.. more like something chuck swirsky would say
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15:</div><div class="quote_post">. Brand playing center would make me cry </div> i would experiment with playing brand at center in the size challenged east. i like his chances against jeff foster, sammy "canadian" d, cato, don't u?
Brand could certainly play center in the East. He does well against the taller PF's in the West, while many thought he'd struggle. The reason is because he has loooooooooooooooong arms. I don't have the measurements in front of me, but his arms more than make up for any lack of size in today's game. Shaq would give him trouble. But name me one player whom Shaq doesn't give trouble. Brand's ideal position is PF, but he can play center...and be better than most.

TRADE ACCEPTED **** Would anyone make this trade, I'm guessing Indiana would definately consider this since they're shopping Artest and Bender anyways. But would you do this if you were the Raptors?
i thought indy wasnt shopping bender? didnt know they were as for the deal, id do it if i were the raps most certainly. one of the best, if not THE best on the ball defender in the leauge and a versitile player like bender. it gives us defense, offense, and depth. unfortunately the pacers are getting majorly ripped off in that deal
Actually come to think of it Indy might not be shopping Bender. I thought I heard his name in trade rumours but I might be mistaken. I don't think Indy is really getting ripped off here. Bender was only playing 12 minutes a game for them and they seem to really want to get rid of Artest anyways (especially after his disappering act in the pistons series). In O'neal and VC, Indy would have two established superstars on the team giving them huge inside and outside threats. I think VC would flourish playing with an inside presence like JO. He would get a lot more open shots out on the perimeter where he seems to be more confortable now.
Larry Bird said Bender is untouchable.. now only If I can find the article.. anyway if Bender isn't involved in the trade, I wouldn't want the trade to happen because... if you watched the Eastern Conference Finals, Artest was nothing next to detrimental to the Pacers.. I thought he controlled his emotions well in the regular season but I guess the "real" Artest couldn't hold it in anymore..
my mistake then, I think I remember Bird saying that about Bender too. I probably got him mixed up with Harrington again (it happens a lot for some reason), please disregard my trade. BTW: we drafted Bender and traded him for Antonio right?
^ Yeah...it was actually a good move for us. A.D. was in his prime and playing really well for us. Bender was looking like a bust + he seemed to be injury prone if i'm not mistaken.
^ Are you talking about Vince or Bender? Because Bender will never become a superstar, especially on a team with as much depth as the Pacers. I mean comeon, he's been in the league for 5 years now and the most he's ever rebounded in a game is 11. This from a guy who's 7 feet tall. I don't think we have a potential superstar here on our hands people.
