Well, on the flip, Kobe essentially forcing the Lakers to trade Shaq so that the Lakers could be "his team" in pretty arrogant in itself as well. Keep in mind, Kobe didn't win all those Championships without Shaq either. [IMG]

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Pure Skillz:</div><div class="quote_post">3 finals mvp wards, last year all star mvp, nba mvp, and lakers center peace for 8 years I believe loser? Check the stats he was anything, but say anything you want about kobe how great he is or he is the next MJ or w/e without shaq none of those championships would have been possible. He got them there with his drive and determination just because he aint a loser any more and doesnt like the guy that got him traded and his favorite coach to not return. Doesnt make him a loser.</div>

Without Kobe, Shaq wouldn't have won a single championship either. It can work both ways. Shaq couldn't do it in Orlando.

Plus, he's a loser NOW...he started losing his step a few years ago, and hasn't been as great ever since.

Shaq was crackin up jokes for each question. He kept talking about him walking naked (neck-id) on the beach, and how if they take his pic and put in the inquirer, they'd have to give him 15%. He was speaking in spanish too.

Shaq did get to the finals once without kobe in orlando. kobe has never reached a finals apperance without shaq on the other hand. He isnt a loser still a dominating force in the nba he cant be stopped and is the best player at his position in the nba no one argues that. If he was a loser every team in the nba wouldnt have been dying to get him this off season.

They're showing all the funny highlights from the Shaq press conference in ESPNews all day long, so put it on and check it out if you didn't see the press conference live.

It's pretty damn obvious that you, realdealbneal, is a biased Kobe nutlicker. Nobody in their right mind would ever call Shaq a loser. Are you serious? Shaq just got traded, what's your basis of saying Shaq's a loser now? And Kobe isn't a loser? If anything, Kobe's the bigger loser now. Miami vs Lakers, if they play right now, I would take Miami in a heartbeat. Easily.

I hate when people go on saying stuff about Shaq having no talent. Take a deep breath, relax, think for a bit, forget about Kobe. Shaq has talent, lots of it. Being Shaquille O'neal isn't just about eating and overpowering people with your enormous body mass. The guy has around 20% body fat, which leaves him about 270 lbs of muscle. Sure it's not as good as 7% or 8%, but it's not even close to fat.

It's funny when all the Kobe boot-lickers get upset because Shaq dissed Kobe in some way... This is a sport, people do that all the time. Of course it's perfectly fine when Kobe gets Shaq traded and fires Phil Jackson, just so he can have his own team. Kobe just wants to win right? He's doing what he thinks is best for his team right? But when Shaq says something, he's arrogant, fat, and has no talent.

i dont get how everyone thinks as if kobe ASKED the mangement to have Shaq traded.....from what i have read, he hasnt done that nor did he ask for Phil Jackson to be fired

if anything, the lakers MANAGEMENT chose Kobe over Shaq.....THEY decided that Kobe would be happier and more effective if shaq was traded, THEY decided that kobe would be happier if Phil Jackson was gone...

lol ill admit the stuff shaq said was funny....especially the medium guard stuff haha but the whole "best guard ive ever played with" comment when he hasnt even played one game with him was kinda low class....kobe is one of the reasons, even if Shaq was the main reason, the lakers won 3 championships, give credit where credit is due....

damn now i cant wait till Miami vs. L.A

First off, if you don't follow the Lakers, I wouldn't even begin to assume that Kobe fired Phil. He was on his way out anyways...Shaq's reason for leaving was to blame Kobe for everything. None of you liked Shaq ever...all of you guys that have hated the Lakers, but now you're all over Shaq like he's the greatest of all time and he's a hero for leaving the organization. And, it's not that he's worthless because he said something...I've hated Shaq since he became a Laker in 1996. All of the Laker fans have been positive about the trade, and glad that they chose Kobe...but the rest of you guys (especially the Heat) are sooo happy that Shaq is gone, and now he's everyone's daddy. A few years ago, you guys were crying because the Lakers were destroying all of your teams, and you were talking sh*t on Kobe AND Shaq. Now, it's a different story. On the lighter side...

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">ShaQuotes:

Shaquille O'Neal is one of the more quotable players in the NBA. On Tuesday, he had the stage to himself. Here are some of the better quotes from his introductory press conference in Miami.

"I came to Miami for one reason only, I wanted to hear coach [Stan] Van Gundy stop yelling, 'Three seconds! Three seconds! Get him out of the lane!' and start yelling, 'They're foulin' him, they're foulin' him!'"
-- On why he came to Miami

"I don't believe in pressure. Pressure is not knowing where your next meal is coming from."
-- On whether or not he feels pressure to succeed in Miami

"Rollin' up, I felt like the president."
-- On his entrance in the 18-wheeler (O'Neal followed that statement by humming, "Hail to the Chief")

"I get all that treatment because I'm sexy."
-- On his reception in Miami, including why chefs have offered to make his favorite dish

    "No."
-- On whether he thought about returning to L.A. to play for the Lakers in the upcoming season

"If [Wade] gets fouled hard, they'll get fouled hard. He's a great team player and I believe that teams have always belonged to guards. He's a special guard. I've never played with a guard that special."
-- On whether Dwyane Wade can expect back-up if the play gets physical

"Would you like to kiss it?"
-- To a reporter, who asked about the opulent ring O'Neal wore on his left hand.

"I just bought a house on the beach and my wife likes to see me naked. So, if you take pictures of me naked on the beach and you sell them to the National Enquirer, I get 15 percent."
-- On his new living arrangements in Miami. He later upped the price for pictures to 20 percent.</div>

First of all, don't assume that everyone with a different viewpoint is some kind of groupie muppet. I've never been a big fan of Shaq, I've never hated Kobe, I'm very capable of forming my own opinions. It just irks me when people say stupid things just so they can support their favorite player. Saying Shaq has no talent is one example. Another would be saying Kobe sucks and McGrady's better. It's pointless, and gets us nowhere.

Secondly, Kobe basically used his free agency as leverage to get rid of Phil and Shaq. He might not have gone up and asked to get rid of them, but he knew that by courting other teams that he could get the management to do what he wanted. He knew how the team was gonna interpret. Sure Shaq wanted to be traded, but Jerry Buss basically told him that he wasn't gonna get an extension, and if it came down to it they were willing to trade him but not Kobe. Of course this all happened AFTER they promised Shaq that he would get what he wanted. Kobe isn't stupid, it's not like he had no idea he would influence Jerry Buss this way.

If eating can pay me $30 million a year, I'd be on top of it too. Just because he's huge, and there are no "Wilt-like" centers in the league to stop him anymore, he's supposedly the best in the NBA. Put Shaq by the free throw line...he can't shoot, can't dribble, can't defend, has no court awareness when his back is away from the rim, and he's just trash. He whines about getting fouled, when everyone knows it doesn't bother him one bit...he's an actor. I wonder why Jahidi White, Tractor Traylor, Olive Miller, Olden Polynice, Josh Moore, and Stabley Roberts don't dominate. Really, I do?

Except Shaq really just needed another star Shooting guard, Kobe isn't going to find a dominant center around that easily.
I mean I myself can't honestly say if Shaq had Tmac instead of Kobe they would'nt have won, or even Pierce, or Carter, maybe even Ray Allen. They could've even won more than they did, nd yes its very possible.
Seriously though, about 3-4 years ago, Carter, Kobe and Iverson were considered the best SG's in the league, Tmac now is considered on the same level as Kobe, and Pierce, though never considered to have done as much as the others is not far behind. Ray has also always had some skills.

So because people don't agree with you it must mean they've always hated the Lakers? Interesting, I've never had any ill feeling towards the Lakers, people say that you either hate or love grabeg, but I just don't care much about the team. I even supported them in some championship runs (late playoffs) when any teams I cared for was out, and many times when they played the Kings, I must hate them too. [IMG]
I guess you don't frequent the Heat forums to say all the Heat fans are happy we lost Odom and Butler in the trade [IMG]
Also you're saying Laker fans are happy, what do you want Heat fans to do, not be positive and get depressed?

    Huh?

Don't try and discredit others (Herbal_Tea and Miami fans) because they don't agree with you that Kobe is the GOAT and Shaq has no skills and sucks. Kobe will win MVP too right?, and he'll average 35-8-8 this season too.

Please everybody stop saying this. Kobe hasn't reached the finals without Shaq BECAUSE HE HAS NEVER PLAYED A SINGLE NBA SEASON WITHOUT SHAQ!!! It's an impossibility.

I've always thought Shaq is a clown and an idiot. He'll say whatever gets a laugh, but he isn't half as funny as he thinks he is (certainly not in Barkley's league). That shot at Kobe is a low blow. Kobe at least was gracious in an interview, even called him his partner in crime. But ppl call him conceited. I remember Shaq after winning a title also saying that Kobe was his little brother, the best basketball player ever, even better than MJ. Which one is which?

There's no reason to even argue this...I'm now in the Heat threads, and everything the Heat do will be great decisions because you guys are fans. So, what's the point? I'll stop by when the Heat are either eliminated from the playoffs earlier than expected, or when Shaq gets hurt again and misses another month or so...or when Kobe does what everyone thinks is the impossible, and win the MVP and take the Lakers at least to the 2nd round of the playoffs.

realdealbneal is obviouly your a Shaq hater because he makes fun of Kobe. Shaq is THE MAIN reaosn the Lakers won. Who got all 3 of the finals MVP? Shaq did. Now plz stop your idiotic comments saying " ooo Shaq sucks in every way". Your so convinced Kobe is the greatest that you would suck his nutz. And I was a Shaq fan his whole career in case your accusing me of something in that which. I am a fan of The Sixers and Shaqs team is my 2nd fav. And Kobe will NOT win MVP this year. And Kobe will not get out of the First round(thats if he even makes it in the play offs.

Btw Im saying this because I hate it when people say So and SO sucks especially when theyre one of the best players in the league. I am not a Kobe hater, just hate when people act like Kobes left nut.

Yeah, I happened to stop by my ESPNEWS channel and catch Shaq's joke, especially the one in which he dissed Kobe Bryant. Shaq sometimes is such a huge headcase. Why can't this man just let by gones be bygones and simply tell the Miami media that he's happy to be a Miami Heat rather than slamming his former teammate? Kobe, on the other hand, even if he meant it or not, actually pointed out that it's somewhat of a sad day that his partner in crime wasn't with him anymore. That's the way you gotta go. You shouldn't bring up beef that's already been blown up and destroyed in the past.

Referring to realdealbneal's quote about Shaq not having talent, people should just take a second, get two cotton swabs, and clean out the earwax from your ears and listen for a change. OF COURSE Shaq is going to lose his talent! The man is 32 years old for crying out loud, he can't play an 82 game season anymore, he fakes injuries, (especially the so-called calf injury he suffered and sat out 12 games) the blows he receives from opposing teams take a furious toll on his body, and the man is just straight up lazy. I've been watching Laker games for years, I've especially been watching Shaq's domination for a number of years, and Shaq just isn't the same man he was since he won the Finals MVP in 2000. And now he wants a contract extension that'll eat up another team's financial stability?? Heh, good luck Miami. Because when he's 35 and crippled at the feet with deterioration written all over his 360 pound aching body, you'd wish that he never came to the Heat. Now my point being, is realdealbneal wrong about Shaq not having talent? Hell no, He's speaking the truth. Something you people just seem to misinterpret.

Oh stop it....it wasn't only Shaquille O'Neal that led the Lakers to three straight championships. WTF is wrong with you man?? Shaq and Kobe were the main cataylsts of our offense with our role players contributing as little of bench points as possible. Disregard Shaq's Finals MVP's. Without Kobe being there, we wouldn't have titles in this decade. So Shaq's team is your second favorite eh? You just didn't go and edit your User Cp just now right? Kobe's eventually going to diss Shaq. He's probably going to say "Atleast I can carry the team."
