From Sun's site, an excert with Amare describing the signing of Nash and how his game has developed: ?He can distribute the ball very well, knock down the open shots and that?s going to help take the double and triple-teams away from me. I guarantee you, I?m going to be triple-teamed and quadruple-teamed because my game?s elevated this summer. I?ve been working very hard and a lot aspects I?ve been working on have finally been added to my game. So, it?s going to be a good season.? Did anyone else see this. As a Suns fan dosen't this make you ready and anxious for the upcoming season. Amare proved he is a 20 10 guy last year. I believe with his continued improvement he can be a KG type player. Nash will greatly help Amare this year and it is great coming in that Nah realizes what a force Amare can be and I feel Nash will help him improve. I mean look at this team Amare, Nash, JJ, Matrix, possibly Q. This is certainley a team to be recondened with, and with a decent Center like Joel Przybilla, Scott Williams, or someone of that nature this team is right there next year. The West is up for grabs, so who knows. I'm a person that is expecting big things for the upcoming season.
Amare was on my fantasy roster and I won the title coming from behind. But you cant put him in the same League with KG. I had KG on my roster too, and his numbers and consistancy make Amares look........Well........... Small
KG on a second year player....yea i think KG would make anyone look small..... Also Marbury who played with Garnett on twolves str8 outta highschool said that amare was better in the pros str8 outt of highschool then KG was so if that tells u anything Amare is gonna keep improving if he was better than KG in his first year in the league compared to KGs 1st year in the league you can only expect greatness
He said if he keeps improving he could become a KG type player. Not he is a KG type player. But anyways, Amare definately has the talent to become a premier power forward, everyone knows that, and it's good to hear that he is trying to become just that. I hope that he's improved a lot, because even though he went on a tear for a little while last season, i think that if he had a 15 foot shot, and a left hand, he would KILL!
No Doubt Amare is up and coming. I would definately love to have him on my starting roster anytime..... He put up some big numbers last year, and you can already see flashes of greatness from the guy. But I still wouldn't put him in the same sentence as KG. Yes, opinions from Marbury is one thing, but "REAL" performance in another.... KG has proven himself time and time again. KG is one of a kind just like shaq. His numbers are monsterous. 20/20 any day he chooses. Day in and Day out KG always comes to play. Im gonna make a KG sig now! Thanks, for the ideas! woot!
"I believe with his continued improvement he can be a KG type player". Okay I did mention Kg in the same breath as Amare and I realize that Amare is not the player that KG is right now but I think he has a great chance to be. Look at their stats the first two years. Amare: YEAR TEAM G GS MPG FG% 3P% FT% OFF DEF RPG APG SPG BPG TO PF PPG 02-03 PHO 82 71 31.3 .472 .200 .661 3.00 5.70 8.80 1.0 .76 1.06 2.30 3.30 13.5 03-04 PHO 55 53 36.8 .475 .200 .713 2.90 6.20 9.00 1.4 1.16 1.62 3.22 3.40 20.6 KG: 95-96 MIN 80 43 28.7 .491 .286 .705 2.20 4.10 6.30 1.8 1.08 1.64 1.38 2.40 10.4 96-97 MIN 77 77 38.9 .499 .286 .754 2.50 5.60 8.00 3.1 1.36 2.12 2.27 2.60 17.0 Amare obviously has better numbers yes KG is a better player right now but all I was trying to say is that Amare is one of those players who will continue to get better. He is a very hard worker and very quick to pick up on coaching. This guy one day, in the next couple of years will be a dominating player who you can speak of in the same breath as guys like KG and Timmy Duncan. My opinion.
Amare is definately on his way based on the comparisons you have provided. I wish Amare and the Suns the best of luck.
Heres a little something I made just for you....Haha. Sorry only had around 15 minutes and the sun render took time to create.....ENJOY
I hope he's improved his jumpshot, if he can get a consistent 15-18' jumper, and maybe improve his playmaking, he's really on his way to dominating soon...
have you seen amares practices? he can hit a 13-15 footer pretty regular now....he is going to be huge....
I said 15-18, not 13-15 , but yea he's improving, last year he was hitting shots jumpshots a lot, it wasn't his most consistent thing, but he could hit them which is good, and he should improve this year.
NOw we just have to see if he can hit jumpers with fingers in his face. Amare is good, but still needs to be battle tested.
The thing about these dominant bigs like TC and KG is that they became really great when they were surrounded by quality players. KG couldn't win a playoff series until he got Sam and Spree, and Duncan wouldn't have won the two titles without The Admiral and Parker and Ginobili to take some pressure off of them. Now Amare has a quality team around him to help him get better. He is only in his third year and is already one of the top 5 PFs in the league. Hell he was top 10 in his rookie year. On a sadder note, I want to take this opportunity to remember Lowell "Cotton" Fitzsimmons who passed away yesterday. Well miss you Coach.

Who does he think he is? Shaq? Jordan? Give me a freaken break. Hey i hope he's as good as he says he is...... If he can demand a double team everytime he touches the ball he will be our next charles barkley. That is a good start of a championship team.
I hope his play does the talking. But i hope this cockeyness doesn't hurt the team chemistry. Its good for players to be confident but not too confident. When the Suns had Barkley in the early 90's, the Suns were great. But, KJ hated barkley because of his attitude. Hope that doesn't happen with Amare. Quad teamed? LOL.......
