My dad said he heard Billy King on WIP (Philly sports radio) today and he said that there is "absolutely no truth" to that rumor.

I am glad to hear that BK denies this rumor. It would be somewhat of a gamble. And if it turned out that Dampier was lazy and didn't play hard it would be a crushing blow.

I would like to see dampier play for the sixers he might be a good fit..who knows?? and on the other hand he could be a complete bum..like Grob..he will definatley give our team some much needed strength...so this trade rumor is a fake? and the walker one is fake too or what? we need to pull of something big...i think BK is planning something big..trading snow for two Ollie and Brown..i think he wants to package them up with Grob or some other players but i dont know who he could be going after...

Why would it be a crushing blow? Because Grob was going to be gone next year anyways, and KK is better than Damp? I promise you, if you got Damp he would still average over 10pts per game in the east even if he was lazy.

Well, you are (of course) making the unfair comparison of 10 pts per game with a player (KK) that did not play many minutes so naturally he doesn't get 10 pts per game. However, if KK becomes the 3-pt shooter that we think he might, he will soar much higher than 10 pts per game. So, most of this discussion is based on speculation.

I think it would be a crushing blow because KK and GRob are valuable pieces which should bring us a real player. I am not sure Dampier is that player.

I would jump at the chance to get dampier if I was philly. He can help them slow down the pace for dalembert to give him less minutes allow him to learn more from a vetern and watch other big men from the bench to learn how they play. Also a big man that averages a double double in the east with shaq there now is a very big deal.

I wouldnt take walker over dampier. Walker shoots less than 40 % from the field and 3 point range. He does not use his post up ability as much as he should and is known to have a bad attitude and work ethic with teams he has played for.

Dampier yes like Philly Fan said has only had one good year, and it was a contract year, but if he is able to keep this up and from what I have heard he is probable going to an eastern conference team. Do you really want to let new york or the pacers have a chance at getting him instead of you. I wouldnt risk it I would try to sign him and if he cant be signed I would turn my attention to a player such as Vin Baker since the sixers need another big man on the team.

Wow. Thanks. The point is Damp can stop Shaq, or at least contain him...

You are seriously messed up in the head. Shaq is the games most dominate force, there is no one that can stop him. Sure put 2-3 big guys on him and you might be able to containt him somewhat, but the big fellas would still come through.

korver will never be more than a bench player that comes in situations to jack up 3's.....he'll never be more than a a bench player...if we can geta big man while getting rid of Grob, do it....plus, we have enough SG's and SF's so getting rid of KK and Grob will just give more time to Iggy at the 3, McKie, Ollie, Salmons, and Brown!

:Werd: i like the idea of going after Dampier, i think he would be very valuable. Korver is decent, Robinsion can be replaced. Dampier is one of a few that can average a double-double with a few blocks. He is big, strong, and plays in the paint. We NEED someone like him.

My problem with Dampier is that I do not recall seeing him play. Now, since I must have seen him when the Sixers played the Warriors last year, that means he didn't stand out to me. I also have heard that he is not a hard worker. That troubles me.
