<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">SALT LAKE CITY, July 20 -- The Charlotte Bobcats took control in the second quarter and never looked back in a 79-63 win over Indiana in the Rocky Mountain Revue on Tuesday. The victory improved their record to 3-1 in the event and 8-1 overall this summer. ?I thought as we moved into the game we came out and played pressure defense. It was good to see Primo (Brezec) get going early in the game and that also helped bring their big guys away from the basket,? said Gary Brokaw, the team?s coach for the game. ?We want to get better in key aspects of the game and limiting turnovers was something we emphasized before the game and at halftime.? Primoz Brezec, who was chosen in the Expansion Selection after playing two seasons for Indiana, paced the Bobcats with 23 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks against his former team. ?It was maybe a little more special tonight, but I really just wanted to come out and be more aggressive and play my game. I knew I had to be aggressive on the boards, block shots and play good defense and my offense would follow,? Brezec said. ?I?m getting more comfortable now and getting used to the offense and principles of defense here.? Charlotte trailed by five points early on but came back to take a 13-9 lead. The Bobcats shot .450 from the field in the opening period in taking a 20-17 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Bobcats increased their advantage to 27-20 early in the second period and then jumped ahead by 14 points at 38-24 backed by an 11-2 run. Charlotte led 40-27 at halftime behind 14 points from Brezec and 10 by Jason Kapono. The Bobcats had only four turnovers in the first half and scored 10 points off 11 turnovers by Indiana. The lead grew to 18 points after the Bobcats scored the first five points of the third period and it was extended to 54-33 midway through the quarter. Charlotte held the Pacers to .176 (3-17) shooting from the field in the period to claim a 58-39 advantage after three periods. Charlotte maintained a firm grip in the final period and did not let Indiana get any closer than 13 points. Kapono finished with 14 points and Melvin Ely added 11 points for the Bobcats. Omar Cook dished out a game-best seven assists. Charlotte had 19 assists on 32 made field goals and committed only eight turnovers. Charlotte played without center Loren Woods, who missed the game due to a right thigh contusion.</div> Primoz Brezec had a great game. I was expecting big things from this guy and he's played great so far. Also good to see Omar Cook getting a chance to make the roster.
