Iverson shouldn't be on the list. He just puts on that whole "pity me" act to fool the media. In the last six years, he's only played more than 70 games three of those seasons, having played only 48 in 2 of those seasons and 60 in another. He's tough at times, but he cries about practice when lots of guys are hurt just like he is. I used to like AI and still do a little bit, but he's getting on my nerves.

Kobe and Finley are good choices...don't care about the rest.

Iverson shouldn't be on the list??are you kidding me? This guy goes out every night that he is capable of playing and throws his body around getting loose balls, steals, and driving to the basket at shaq, duncan, ben wallace, KG all of them 7 foot or taller, and he is barely 6 foot and thats not tough?? pity me act [IMG] ?? please explain the pity me act. well as long as the players in the NBA voted that he is tought i guess that rules out your opinion...

BTW i would put T-Mac on the list...because this guy plays with back problems and thats gotta be hard..

Eveyr body mentioned are very tough players, and I never even knew Pierece got Stabbed.. 11 TIMES. Damn.

I think an honourable mention goes out to Alvin Williams, and no I'm not just saying it beceause I am a raptors fan, I just rememberd because I was browsing Nike Basketball.com

Otherwise, I'm interested if they polled the whole(or majority of) league, or just select players.

I think it's interesting that so many people didn't know about the Pierce stabbing incident.

Many Boston fans hold that season in reverence, because it could have gone the other way and we could have had another tragedy like we did with Bias and Lewis.

Not only did Paul come back to play the entire season, but he's missed few games since, despite leading the league in getting to the line for several seasons, which generally comes with taking a bit of physical abuse. Philly fans know what I'm talking about. Iverson takes his share of lumps going to the hole as well.

I'm mesmerised by it, I'll admit it, but I also have to say that it gets pretty close to the area of sexual content that people might object to. I doubt they'd simply ban it, but they might ask you to voluntarily change it as a courtesy, if they decide it might be an issue of violating site guidelines</font></font>

I'll base my list on the game, not how iron-man-ish they are with injuries.

    1. Allen Iverson - At 5'11, his real height, he sacrifices his body every game against much bigger men. You're talking about risking to get a serious injury in 20-25 plays a game. Even the stronger, bigger guys like Vince Carter are too wussy to drive in as frequent as Iverson.
2.Ben Wallace - Perhaps the most relentless rebounder, hustler, and blocker in the league, enough said.
    3. Kevin Garnett - Can't afford to sit on the bench for 1 minute. He is capable of playing 48 minutes a game, and fatigue isn't a word he should use, which he said in a conference during the series against the KIngs. He's probably the most consistent in being productive in all 4 quarters despite playing a large amount of minutes. He's not even as bulky as the players of his height and yet he hooks and dunks all over them.
    4. Kobe Bryant - Although he's not tough in physical fights (Chris Childs), he will be the least recognizeable player in the first 3 quarters and trigger Jordan all over you in the 4th quarter. That's because of his heart and determination that drastically exceeds other's. It will make him do everything to win on both ends, and very few players have the poise to be productive on both ends, especially in the late stages.
    5. Tim Duncan - Doesn't SHOW toughness, but it is put through fundamental, poise, determination, and leadership. That's mainly the reason why he's able to lead a team to a championship.

NBA players voted on rep. Everything snowballs. You hear Charles Barkley on Inside one night ranting about how great so-and-so is and then all of a sudden, the internet chatrooms start to say the same thing. Everybody's a follower. The players didn't put any thought into their selections. It's not a big deal to them who makes the list so they don't really care so they just pick whoever everyone says is tough.

Iverson is tough, but top 5? Nope. He misses a lot of games and skips practices all the time.

yea, if everybody's a follower then theres no real truth opinions in the nba, including the toughest player.i can easily say some center is the toughest guy in the league and nobody will believe me becuase he's not the toughest. then y do u think everybody says iverson is the toughest, its because everybody noes how he plays and they watch him and its true. skipping practice doesnt have anything to do with toughesness, its called lazy.yes iverson is lazy and bum and thug but he's tough. and i dont believe anybody can play games if they get a broken leg. does he whine about his sprained finger like shaq does with his toe? who in the league ever played a game rite after they broke their leg or watever.noone. and the reason that he gets these injuries is becuase hes tough and fearless, he dives for loseball and etc...u no the rest. ben wallace or other big men may be tough but they'r enot as tough as iverson becuase they're competing against guys smaller or equal to their size and they're stronger. iverson's getting banged around with players almost twice as big as him wen he drives into the lane.

Yeah but KG can carry like a hundred people on his back down the street and I've never seen Dale Davis do that before. LOL

I think the problem is that "tough" is too vague of a term. Does it only include physical toughness, or is mental toughness involved too? We all have different ideas of tough.

Iverson is tough. AI misses a lot of games but have you seen the games when he has tried to come back earlier then what he is supposed to?Do you watch the Sixers when he gets thrown around in games and gets right back up,and when people ask him about he says I'm used to it,thats tough.

For the record Allen Iverson doesnt miss practice REGULARLY.

Alvin Williams, injured his whole career, brings it night in night out.

    1. Alvin Williams
    2. Allen Iverson (im not a huge Iverson fan, but give props where they're due.)
    3. Baron Davis (hate him.)
    4. Ben Wallace
    5. Ron Artest

All of them come with a chip on their shoulders.

    Honourable mentions:

    Charles Oakley
    Karl Malone
    Chris Childs

However they are too old an injured nowadays to make my list.
