<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">King has also had discussions with the Pacers "since June," he said yesterday.

While King wouldn't confirm the particulars, an NBA source said the two teams have talked about swapping Derrick Coleman and Greg Buckner for Austin Croshere.

Coleman, who will be bought out of the remaining $7 million of his contract if King cannot pawn him off on somebody, is owed $4.5 million next year with a $2.5 million buyout in 2005-06. Buckner ($2.88 million) has four years and $13 million remaining.

Croshere, a combination forward who has fallen out of the Pacers' rotation since signing a huge extension, is slated to make $26.73 million over the next three years - $8.26 million this season, followed by $8.91 million and $9.56 million.</div>

I actually like this deal, Austin is a very good hustle player, and can get your back in the game. Has a very nice shot selection as well. From the business side however, he is a liability, his contract is not something that is very appealing.

Well this looks like a trade that to me only could be detirmined on how good it actually until the mid season and Austin shows that he can be consistant cause I know he has the talent to be good in this league but I doubt that he can be good over a long period of time and he does have a big contract which would be very hard to move for one thing so unless he becomes conistently good he will a be a waste of money. On thing that I do know about Austin is he is a great player under pressure so thats always a great asset to have on any player let alone a player with great height.

Hey we would rid ourselves of dc and buckner so there is a somewhat bright side to a trade like this even if he doesnt pan out.

it'd be a good move for the Pacers, getting some inside help with Coleman, and defensive specialist in Buckner...and this would help with cap space with Philly, altho Croshere would not necessarily be the "missing ingredient" for a playoff run...

He would be useful anyway. CD and Buckner are both basically useless to the Sixers.

What? Coleman = Good Move? Get outta town with that comment, this guy is a curse for any team in the NBA. He is a lazy outta shape bum every year that gets injured and I don't know why any team would even look at him. But hell if someone wants him take, lol go for it please, I dare you. [IMG]

Wow if thats his contract...I dont like this trade,Chroshere is a decent player though he would be a nice role player and he would be a nice addition offf the bench and he would give us more dept because he can also play inside.

This is a good trade, by getting rid of two players who are pretty much useless to the team, we get one good role player who will get significant playing time. We're a bit short handed in the forward position, and croshere is certainly no bum. He can shoot pretty well, hustles, plays good d and would fit in well with what the sixers are doing with the team. His contract is a bit unattractive but this is really not much of a problem because of the snow trade to cleveland.

    A good trade, I say.

Well it would be a problem because we are trying to save money for a big name player in the future, paying that much money for a simple role player would ruin that plan.

I would vote not. While I would be happy to unload Buckner, I would rather just buy out DCs contract and not have to take on another contract.

Damn dont do it the sixers billy king is sort of going into rebuilding mode here instead of reload mode. He has traded away a great point guard in eric snow to "create cap room" now he is tring to trade away DC for a below average player imo. Along with greg buckner to do what? "Create Cap room" if this is what king is tring to do the sixers will suffer for at least a year. Since besides darius miles there are no real big name free agents left on the market. Mabye he is tring to clear out cap to make a last effort bid at Dampier to try and steal him from new yorks finger tips. I really dont want to see DC leave philly he has been a great part of there team and they did trade george lynch a very good power forward to get him. Trading him now for basically nothing would be stupid. I say he is tring to clear out cap room because even though he makes alot of money his contract ends sooner than colmens I believe.

I would make this trade asap. Sixers don't use Buckner at all,DC is a old bum who is injured most of the season. Croshere's contract is horrible but atleast he plays better than Coleman or Buckner. Didn't he start at C in the playoffs once and as I remember the Pacers won that game, this shows he can also play at multiple positions.Croshere can also hit the three point shot so I don't see anything bad about it.

croshere's deal is 1 year shorter than buck's but unlike DC and Buck, we'd actually use croshere! he expires faster and we're in cap helll as it is so why not take on his contract? i'd rather have him on our books for 3 years while he does soemthing than buckner on our books for 4 years and DC on our book for 2 years(1 guaranteed year plus the 2.5 mill buyout the year after)
