thats what i hate about CRITICS. There always looking at the players past. They never seem to beleive that a player can change his ways. I can't wait till next season, so i can see mcgrady shut everyone up and prove em wrong.
damn straight julio...i read somewhere that mcgrady heard about the work ethnic stuff on him and he sed it jus hurt him deeply. and that he will b willing to prove them wrong next season.
he has been saying that for awhile..once i see him improve it I will believe him..that is why he isnt better than Kobe (not trying to stir up a Tmac v. Kobe topic) he doesnt give a crap, he could care less as long as he gets his shots and points he ius good, while Kobe is constantly trying to improve EVERY aspect of his game..
Well, people side with the critics depending on who's team they are talking about. Im just gonna wait till the season starts.

Mcgrady has been stuck on a bad team with no help, he is sick of losing. Passing the ball to Yao all the time shouldn't be a problem. That article is terrible but looking at who wrote It I'm not surprised. Charley Rosen is the worse writer I've ever seen. Mcgrady cares only about stats? and getting his shots? If that was true why did he get so depressed and basically cried about last season due to losing game after game? If all you do is care about stats then you certainly wouldn't of had the attuide he had last season If that was the case. The guy wants to win and he knows he has that chance in Houston. I'm sure If you put Kobe in the same situation as T-mac last season, the results wouldn't of been any different.
true.. u'd think if all he cared about were stats that he'd ask to be traded to a team that doesn't already have an all-star who the coach wants to focus the offense around...
If T-Mac were to be a stat-padder as the article claims he is, why would he even have chosen to come to the Rockets? Why not demand a trade to, say, Atlanta and average 35 points per game? Why not? Because McGrady is a winner. He could not stand the losing at Orlando, and the Magic were not really playoff guarantees in the upcoming season as well. He saw a chance to start anew with a talented big man and a experienced coach in Houston, and he took it and ran with it. In Orlando, Tracy had virtually no one to pass the ball to, that's why his scoring average was very high <font size="-2">(case in point: If T-Mac scored less than 25 points in any game, the Magic would be screwed.)</font> In Houston, T-Mac understands that he does not have to score 30 points each night for the Rockets to win; they have other scorers in Yao Ming and Jim Jackson, both of whom could take over anytime McGrady has a cold night. In the Houston offense which revolves around Yao Ming, McGrady could become more of a perimeter player, which might not improve his stats, but would preserve his body in the long term because of the decreased fouls he draws from penetration, which could be a good thing for both him and the Rockets.
The truth is, Charlie Rosen is a fool, and this is the same guy who tried to discredit Jerry West as a great GM and a winner. He tried to say he wasnt responsible for getting Shaq and some more trash that noone cared for. You should have heard him get fried on LA's xtra sports radio by the host. The truth about Macs way of thinking is like this: Happy to share duties McGrady still is puzzled by the criticism he hears from the Magic about him becoming a selfish player. If anything, he was pushed into it. He was reminded about his initial goal with the Magic, when he said he wanted to become the first player since Oscar Robertson to average a triple-double. "I never wanted to be a big scorer, but I had to do that to give us a chance," he said. "All I ever wanted to do was win. We just didn't have other scoring options. I know my scoring will go down in Houston, but my assists and rebounds are going up." He guessed that next season, he would average 22 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, happy to be a co-star with 7-foot-6 center Yao Ming.
I know people have said this before, but I'm going to ask it anyway. In Orlando, who exactly deserved to get passed to? Thus, I'm agreeing to what the above poster said, he was basically pushed into that role, and critics labeled him a ball hog.
Everybody is entitled to their own opinion but none are justified. There are always going to be haters.

Yes there will always be haters, for one simple fact, no matter how much they deny it, he must be doing something right.
