<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Todd MacCulloch's mysterious foot disorder has cost him the last 1 1/2 seasons with Philadelphia. A comeback doesn't seem likely. While MacCulloch isn't ready to announce his retirement, the 76ers center knows he may never play again. `There have been no significant improvements, unfortunately,'' MacCulloch said Wednesday in a phone interview with The Associated Press. ``I'm hoping for a miracle, really.'' MacCulloch has Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a genetic disorder that disrupts his balance and causes problems with his feet. MacCulloch had surgery in January on his left foot to free a crushed nerve, leaving him hopeful of a recovery and perhaps a similar procedure on his right foot. Instead, there has been no progress and MacCulloch is still searching for alternatives. ``They said give it six months and I've done that and it hasn't really helped,'' said MacCulloch, who last played Feb. 2, 2003. ``The summer hasn't been all that healing.'' MacCulloch said he has not talked with Sixers president Billy King since the end of last season. He knows the Sixers can't wait forever and a decision about his future will come soon.</div> <div align="center">Link</div> Sad story...But with that being said, Billy King has to do something with MacColloch. The Sixers are in a financial crisis and getting rid of MacColloch contract will benefit us dearly, although it's not as big of a contract we're over the salary cap and disposing his contract won't do anything but clear some cap room.
Yes this story was posted by another person the other day in the sixers board. That is sad since he would offer them the biggest solid body they had now that they will be facing shaq more. Dalembert is good and performed well last season against shaq as the sixers beat the lakers, but is to skinny to stop him from attacking the basket. Todd faced shaq two times in the finals one with the sixers and one with the nets so he knows what to expect when facing shaq. He also has a bigger body. Not only does this hurt the sixers on the court, but todd is a great guy who has contributed to the team in every way while he has been hurt. As a broadcaster and a motevational guy. It sucks to see him not getting better. Before the injury he had been at the time part of the last 2 nba finals.
>>Todd faced shaq two times in the finals one with the sixers and one with the nets so he knows what to expect when facing shaq. Yes, he does. Unfortunately, he was helpless against Shaq. That is he reason the Nets went after Motumbo. So, even if a "miracle" would happen McCullough would not be any help against Shaq. But on a brighter note ... McCullough's salary comes off the Sixers total sometime in February. That will be 2 years of not getting into an NBA game. By rule, that is when his salary is dropped from the Sixers total salary.
