Whats up fellas. The Rockets still dont have a starting PG. I was wondering if Jeff McGinnis is on the trading block or at least available. The Cavaliers now have another solid PG in Eric Snow. If McGinis's minutes get cut we all know what happens , he can be a real pain in the ass. So should the Rockets try to trade for him. And should the Cavs trade him. He is a talented PG and really helped Cleveland last year in making a playoff run. He was the leader of that team and when he got injured the Cav's went on a losng streak and LeBron was exposed. So from that point of view if I am Paxson i keep McGinnis. But they also have SNow , so maybe they trade him for future picks.

What do u think the Rockets can offer to get McGinnis. Who will be in the final year of his contract for 3.5 million.

Cleaveland could ask for Eric Piatkowski (2.6 million) and Adrian Griffin (.8 million) and a couple of 2nd rounders

U got a point. many rockets fans have overlooked the possibility of McInnis.
Under the JVG system, i still think that Eric snow wud be a perfect fit, but i doubt the cavs wud trade a newly acquired player.

I also think that Damon Jones is our next best option, but very few ppl have evn considered J-Mac.. i think he'd fit in well.

I personally, dont like McInnis, i think he likes the Cavs, and Paul Silas already said that he wants him to play for them. I also do think Damon Jones or Antonio Daniels are our best options. They are cheap, and know how to run the game. They both havent peaked their play-making abilities, and they havent really learned to control the tempo of the game. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">But they also have SNow , so maybe they trade him for future picks. </div> Isnt there like a delay on how quickly you can trade players you just aquired? I too, love watching Snow play, but he is 31, so we can only sign him to like a 3 year deal. And if we dont get anywhere in 3 years, he might opt out. With Daniels and Jones, we can go somewhat young, they are 29 and 28. Its kinda annoying, the Rockets were so active in the offseason, now we have no idea what they are doing. But I'm glad they are doing everything privately.

Theres always the possibility, but I highly doubt it...I think the race for our starting PG is between three players: Charlie Ward, Damon Jones and Mike James...I'm hoping by the end of this week we'll have some answers, and that would leave more options for acquiring a backup big man...

Well, what I'm predicting is that at least one of those needs will be answered at the end of the week. It does puzzle me as to why the Rockets management hasn't made any moves yet, especially when there is still a huge free agent market left. They haven't done enough by just acquiring T-Mac yet.

There was a rumor on clutchcity.net that James has stated TWICE that he will be a Rocket and is in the midst of negotiating a 3-year deal...if something happens to fail with Houston, he has NJ and Milwaukee as backups, but it seems as if James REALLY wants to be a Rocket and will end up here when its all said and done...

I dont think the Rockets could get him, that Cavs love him and he is their man at the point, they traded for Snow to give him a decent back up and to give the team some expierence also they dont want the team to fall apart if he gets injured.

Mike James is a great shooter... sometimes. He's too inconsistent, I don't see him as much of an improvement over Lue.

I think he is an improvement over Lue. He, unlike Lue, is bigger and a better defender. That aspect could already guarantee him a starting spot over Lue. Also, James is not a PG that likes to push the ball, and when he does, he usually does a good job of finishing on the break. His substance-over-style kind of play should fit very well into our half-court offense.
