With Trenton Hassell expected to sign with the Blazers, the Blazers would no longer need Kerry Kittles. Plus with Knicks as front runner for Walker, this opens the door for Shareef. He wants out bad and the Blazers just traded Dale Davis. I say Sixers should offer:

    Glenn Robinson and Marc Jackson

    For

Shareef Abdur-Rahim and Vladimir Stepania (filler)

This gives Portland a expiring contract that will get playing time and a solid backup PF/C in Jackson...he'll rotate with Ratliff and Randolph. Portland is deep at PG/SG maybe a little too deep. They have Stoudamire, Van Exel, Anderson, and now Hassell...it?s obvious Portland wouldn?t want Buckner so give them what they need. Billy King would get lots of accolades for this trade...it would make Kenny Thomas a sixth man and give Sixers a guy capable of putting up 20-10 with a post up game and ability to run the floor.

    PG- Iverson, Ollie
    SG- Green, Mckie, Brown
    SF- Iguodala, Salmons, Korver
    PF- Shareef, Thomas
    C- Dalembart, Skinner, Coleman

This move opens the door for more playing time for Green, Iguodala and Salmons. The Sixers will still have expiring contracts of T-Mac, Coleman, Brown, and now Stepania and Shareef. I believe this would benefit both sides.

I suggested in another thread here in the sixers forum that bringing sharef here would be a good move. He can put up points and be a great second option for AI. Also mentor dalembert and help him become better offensively.

Though sharef has a pretty big contract I think it expires soon. So if it doesnt work out we just got a lot of cap space along with giving a good player a shot. They should take a shot on doing that trade you never know how far a big man can help you get look at the pistons since they got wallace.

Trenton Hassell is expecte to sign a offer sheet with the Blazers. The Timberwolves have 15 days to match the offer, if they chose to. So it isn't certain that Trenton will end up in Portland.

Shareef's and Stepania's contracts both expires next season. So if they want to get more cap space, this would be a good move.

this would be a steal for the 76ers. Giving two old guys for a possible all-star.

I would love this trade and it is a really good trade for us...it could be the missing piece to our team.BUt I dont know if the Sixers are even looking towards getting Shareef but they should, also I think the T-Wolves might try and re sign Hassell though so this would be hard to do.This trade could be likely on the other hand to because I dont think a Nets deal is going to happen.

this would be a great trade for philly, but i think its very unlikely the blazers would want g.robinson, because they already have a sf in darius miles.

about hassel: minnesota is quite deep in the backcourt wit spree, szczerbiak, hudson, cassel, hoiberg, so they will possibly not match the offer sheet...

Well what if the Blazers dont re-sign D.Miles then they would need a SF.

I am hoping that we perssue D Miles. Though he is a small forward the position we have the most depth in if we could some how involve him in the trade if we try to get sharef it would be huge for the team. He is very athletic and improved his game big time when he was traded to the blazers.

I have not heard of any team that is tring to get him other than the nuggets and the nuggets only have 2 million dollars left on the MLE so I dont think they will have enough to make a decent bid at him. Hopefully if we do do this trade with portland we can in some way involve D-Miles in the trade as he would be a good guy to have on the team because of his athletism and all around ability to move up and down the court he would fit well with o'briens run and gun offensive style. Since he gets most his points in transition do to him not having a sonistant jumper.

    More Good News

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Upset over a failed trade that would have sent the Blazers power forward over to New Jersey, Shareef Abdur-Rahim plans to go straight to the very top with his complaints. All the way to owner and Microsoft co-founder, Paul Allen, demanding a trade if he has to.

"I hope it doesn't come to (a holdout), but if it does, it does," Abdur-Rahim said. "I don't want that to happen; it's not me and I don't think it's indicative of who I am. But at the same time, when I left Portland after the season, I was put under the impression of one thing (being traded), and now it has changed."</div>

It seems to me that whenever you guys hear a big name player being on the market that you get excited. How about thinking of the consequences for once. Bringing in Rasheed would dramatically stunt Andre's growth as he would be shadowed by him, Salmons, and Buckner. However on the other end, his contract expiring next season is a big plus as it could lead to a bigger trade.
