Shaq and Kobe's names are synonomous with the word "championship", it seems, as the they represented the most recent NBA dynasty. But will they ever again be champions? Don't count on it. It's very possible that Shaq or Kobe could win another championship with their respective teams, but then again there has been a changing of the guard in the NBA; first Tim Duncan and the Spurs shocked the basketball world as they knocked off the Lakers in 2003 and went on the win the championship, and then the Pistons won the '04 finals, displaying some of the most brilliant teamwork in recent memory. With the dyanasty ended and broken up, there are many other teams that would feel they reign supreme over Shaq and over Kobe's. Detroit feels invincible at the moment; things are brewing in Minnesota if they havent been already; Sacramento's talent has never been a question; the Pacers came off a number one seed, and even the Denver Nuggets are feeling confident. I feel that the talent of the old lakers duo was so overwhelming that a championship was destined to fall in their hands, but now with everything changed, there are other duos, and other great all-around teams who can defeat Shaq(who has never won a championship without Kobe) and Kobe(who is unproven without Shaq).
Kobe: a couple of years down the road: Yes he will win atleast one before his time is done Shaq: he's got about 3 years left in him, he will have a chance to win it, pending if he surrounds himself with a little bit of a more better bench and role players....i seriously doubt he will win a championship when miami has no depth whatsoever and with Shaq being injury prone, it lessens their chances even more

I also think they both will win another ring some time in their career. Shaq will win one soon I say about 2-3 years and Kobe will win one at about 30 years old

Combine that with the fact that Shaq is getting old, he would really have to bounce back in Miami to show some of the stuff he did in Orlando. ....I could see the possibility of Shaq winning in Miami in a few years, if the managment does its job, but I really don't think Kobe has it in him to lead a team to the Championship, even with Payton, Odom, Grant and Butler
I think that it's possible that they could each win another title. Shaq is in the East and no one can really guard him out there so I think that makes Miami a very possible top 3 seed. It also helps them in that he could help them get to the NBA Finals here very soon. So, as far as Shaq goes, I think since he's playing players much smaller than him, I believe that he will at least make the Finals again before his career is over, and quite possibly win a title. As far as Kobe goes, assuming he is acquitted of his rape charges, I think he's going to win another. The kid is only 25, turns 26 next month. He's got a ton of great years ahead of him so I believe that, in all likely hood, he's going to win it. It all depends on if he can lead a team by himself though, and I believe he can. So, as far as Kobe goes, I think that another title is inevitable for him. It all depends on if the role players and what not help Kobe down the road, but, I believe it is inevitable for him to win it, especially considering that he is only 26 and should have at least another 10 years left in him.
I think Kobe will win a couple more.... Shaq, depends on his health and also Miami pickin up a few more players
I think this year is probably the last chance shaq has at winning another ring. The Heat need to get a few consistent role players. Dwayne Wade is gonna really be good this year.
Kobe: Yes Shaq: No If Shaq could lead a team to a championship individually he would have done so in Orlndo. Kobe is now in his place to do it.
Kobe has all the time in the world as far as I'm concerned, so I couldn't say no without having doubts. I would say that in a couple years, after the Lakers build the team up a little more through free agency and/or the draft, that Kobe could definitely lead the Lakers to a championship. As for Shaq, not with the team that he's with now. If he was still with the Lakers team that we saw last year, I would say that there is definitely a good chance that he'd win a championship in the next couple of years. But now, he's on a team that pretty much threw away their future for two years of Shaq, which is great, but it won't win them games. Sure, he might be more dominant in the East, but one tree doesn't make a forest, the only other guy on that team that will be able to put up good numbers is Wade (maybe Malone?). Sorry Miami fans, you won't be seeing a championship as long as you have Shaq on your team.
Kobe couldn't even win a championship with Payton and Malone; i don't mention Shaq because Kobe refused to give the man his touches
I think Shaq'll win another Ring. I think he's determined to win one now asKobe is on another team and it's his way of proving that he never needed Kobe.
I agree with basically what everyone else is saying. Kobe is young and he has a lot of years left in LA where they are willing to spend money to put talent around them. There's no way I can see him not winning at least one more. He's already got a good team and it's easy for LA to attract FAs so he can probably win one within 4 years. Shaq, on the other hand, has a 3 year window (and that 3rd year is iffy). He is already starting to get banged up and it's just going to get worse carrying all that weight around. Miami is really thin right now so I can't see them winning it this year so next year is probably Shaq's best bet. I give Shaq less than 50-50 odds of winning another one.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting KG-MVP:</div><div class="quote_post">Kobe: Yes Shaq: No If Shaq could lead a team to a championship individually he would have done so in Orlndo. Kobe is now in his place to do it.</div> He was young in Orlando. His 3rd NBA year against Hakeem the top center at the time. And Shaq was leading the Lakers to those championships. Thats like saying MJ cant lead a team to a championship because he had Pippen. Mj led his team. Shaq led his team. Kobe was the side kick. Pippen was the side kick. Also theres many other duos like that.
Well lets look at the facts shall we. Shaq has been to the finals 5 times in his career winning the title 3 of those 5 times. He has dominated everyone he has ever come across in his career only being dominated his third year in the finals by hakeem. He is the most dominating force in the game and a former mvp all star mvp last year. He will play 3 or 4 more years in the NBA and will win a title imo. Kobe is 25 years old. Has three titles all of them with shaq. He has not won a mvp award, but has finished higher than shaq in league rank in ppg the last couple of years. He has definitly improved and will only continue to improve with lamar odam, caron butler, brian grant, gary payton, and possible malone for another year he has alot of talent still around him to make a playoff push and in a couple of years though malone probable wont be around by then he will probable win another title though it wont come easy and for a long time. Both dominate there positions in the NBA shaq is the more dominate of the two at his position there for I see his next title coming before kobes also because shaq plays in the east were he is basically the lone big man while kobe plays in the west with his big man being divac who will probable retire in the next 2 years or will experence a significant drop off on his game. They will both get at least another title imo. I know shaq will get at least 1 more dont know if he will get more considering he will retire soon, but kobe can porbable get 2 more imo if everything goes right with the court case and he continues to develope.
