I had really good seats... 5th row. JO came out around 6pm and spoke about his love for Philly sports, why we should renew our plans and how he was going to coach/what to expect for next season. Some interesting points he made:

    - He said if the season started tomorrow, the starting line up would be, Iverson at PG, Willie green at 2Guard, Kenny Thomas, Glenn Robinson and he didn't know who would start at center... he said either Skinner, Dalembert or Jackson.

    - Talked about Howard Eskin, lol. The one thing that made me laugh is he said before the 2001-2002 playoffs when Boston beat us, Howard told him, "You can't win a game taking all 3's." The next night, Boston went out and made 18 3's. JO said that was the last time he ever saw Eskin up until 2 months ago.

    - Jim said everytime his Celtics beat the Sixers, he hated it as a Philly fan.

Then they did some Q & A with fans.

    - One fan said, how does DC fit in with the lineup next season. What was JO's response? "He doesn't." DC will not be back folks.

    - Another asked about Antoine coming. JO said, "Not likely" do to the fact that Dallas has no interest in what we have to offer.

    - I asked JO if Kyle Korver will get more or less minutes than last year. JO's response? "I'm the best thing that ever happened to Kyle Korver." He then went on about how whenever KK hesitate's in practice about shooting the 3, he yells, "SHOOT IT!" Jim ended with, "He will be a big part of our season."

It was alot of fun. =D JO gave me alot of confidence in next season. Afterward, we took a small tour of the Sixers bathroom, shower, pool/sauna and the one sports bar club. I have some pictures of that as well as JO here: http://photobucket.com/albums/v190/dyermaker/jimobrien/

Cool well that interview was very informative. He answered a question I had been wondering about with walkers situation and saying it is unlikely he will come to philly also the starting lineup arguement.

I am not so sure I am happy to hear that he is not sure who will start at center. It sort of makes me think he didnt like what he saw from dalembert so far in sixers camp and that kind of thing makes me wonder why wouldnt he let him start. He is considering starting Jackson I think that is a bad move he is older now not to old though, but if he starts him likely he will be injured by the mid point of the year and no use to the team. Also skinner is not got enough of a body on defense to start imo he is better used as a power forward off the bench.

As far as him being a supporter of korver that doesnt surprise me from the offense he ran in boston I am not sure if that is good for korver that he is encouraging kk to take the threes because then he may become a walker type player and very one dementional.

Still all and all I like what I heard thanks for the info it is really been helpful wonder if the sixers will target any big names like dampier or possible shareef any time soon. Shareef would be good because he is in his prime and has a max deal with one year left offering us big cap room. When it expires.

This was a great post. Encourages me about their upcoming season. It is going to be exciting. I think the Sixers will be back to the fun team they were a few years ago instead of the grind...grind...grind... team they became with Brown.

Yeah, JO sounded very confident. I really wish the season would start tomorrow. After tonight, I'm really excited and can't wait to see what he has in store.

cool I wanted Kyle to stay and it looks like it is. Its good . I want to see Kyle taking some 3s and I think he will become a clutch player. Im also happy theyre giving Glenn another chance to start. Also its good to hear that DC will not be back lol. Hmm I really thought Antoine was going to come here. O wEll

Yay! Let's jack up shots and watch Korver become another Walker type player, I seriously don't think he has the right mind set. He wants to shoot, shoot, and shoot. We have to slow down sometimes, with running a fastbreak paced game, and shooting the lights out, it will be very hard to get used to this type of system.

Sounds like JO was very honest about each question.

Dalembert should be starting. He long and lean, and he gets up and down the floor with a quickness. Not to mention he also very athletic for his size. And if Jim O'Brien wants that up-temp, fastbreak style of play it would be wise if he started Dalembert instead of that stiff Marc Jackson. (No pun intended)

It's a no-brainer who should be starting at center unless JO hasn't been impressed by Sammy.

Jim hasn't had a chance to see Sammy play. He did not play in the summer leagues so he is uncertain about a big man. He has stated in many interviews that he wants perimeter players, Allen, and a big man. He has never said who that big man is because he is unsre of each of them. Once training camp starts he will be much more sure, and the decision will be much more clearer.

That's awesome! I had a 10 game package last year and then bought additional game tickets. I think we may get another 10 game one again. Not sure yet. Since my birthday is in September, I'm lucky enough to have it on my birthday list. =P Got it last year, hopefully I'll get it again this year.

Where were your seats at? Mine were in 210 last year. The $28 seats... we're too cheap, lol.
