"There have been rumors that Portland and Toronto have been talking, but it's hard to imagine the Raps trading Vince Carter away without getting a superstar in return, but with the Raptors trying Chris Bosh out at the '3' this summer, maybe this deal could have legs after all." - OregonLive.com I really hope that happens
Vince shouldn't be traded for any player or a group of them from the Blazers. He's the most vital player of our team. Not even the Blazers' best player, Randolph, equal Vince in worth. It is realistic that if a trade between the teams go through, Vladimir Stephania and Qyntel Woods would be a Raptor.
You didn't even post the details of the trade. What would the raps be gettin for Vince? What the hell are you talking about?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Celtz34:</div><div class="quote_post">I heard that Shareef wants out of Portland. Maybe Shareef Abdur Rahim for Vince Carter.</div> I dont think so even though raheem is a good player. in atlanta he showed he is not a FRANCHISE player and the raps GM already said he wont trade VC for anything less than that. He wants a franchise player ofr franchise player deal not to mention vince sells tickets raheem doesnt. VC puts fans in the seats and money in the GM's and owners pockets along with having the top all star votes the past couple years and nearly the top jersey selling before lebron and melo came he sells stuff basically everything. You put VC name on something or his face and it sells raheems doesnt neccessarly do the same or as successful. He would not only not be a franchise player, but not a advertising guy either.
that is stupid .... shareef or randolph would be the ones in return for vince. but thats plain dumb imo, neither of them are as talented as vince and they aren't as marketable.. also both of them play PF which bosh is going to play as. If we are going to trade vince, we better get a guy that can fill his shoes or a center that can dominate.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Banks:</div><div class="quote_post">Why the hell do we need 3 PF's when we already have 2 of them in Bosh and Marshall?</div> banks the dude that started this thread said they were trying bosh at the sf.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Quickness:</div><div class="quote_post">banks the dude that started this thread said they were trying bosh at the sf.</div> Trying to start Bosh at SF is dumb. He's a PF, been so his whole career. And the trade wouldn't work salary wise.
please dont let SOME comments of SOME over-zealous VINCE fans, scew your opinion on ALL raptor fans. some of the comments in this thread

The guy barely cuts it as 6-9. He's not exactly Center material. He couldn't even play that at Michigan State. Randolph/Reef/Bosh would be a talented front line, but I'd switch the positions you listed for them around. Shareef Abdur-Rahim was a Small Forward as a Vancouver Grizzlie, so he could just as easily be a Small Forward for the Toronto Raptors. Chris Bosh played some Center this year. While he may have had his difficulties, he's the most qualified out of the three players to play the position. If the Raptors did this trade, they'd be back in playoff contention in my opinion. That kind of a front-line would tear through the East.
This won't happen. The Raps won't get anyone in return for Vince, and the Blazers can't afford Vince. I don't think that anything with the Raptors will go through unless it's for Woods.
