Well I remember them doing an interview of him all star weekend and he said he wanted to play a couple years more in the nba to give a chance for his kids to see him and him end his career on a good note does anyone know what happened if he is still planning a return? Hopefully he does return he seems like a good guy that just made a few mistakes. Everyone deserves a second chance and I would love to see this guy get his and prove he can be a quality player and stay out of trouble. He is still got alot of good years of playing left if he returns.
I seen the interview as well and I think it kinda touched everyone watching it by letting us know that a few little mistakes early in life can really mess up everything you have going for you. I really would like to see him back in the game and believe that he could still make an impact in the league. My favorite part of the interview was when Silas asked what he wants everyone in the league to know out there and he responded with something like "I hope you have the heart to tell your SG that he just lost his starting position". Gotta love the confidence.
Isiah Rider,at one time, had all the tools to be a dominant force in the NBA. But his attitude, disregard for the rules and various criminal endeavours soured him on everyone. He caused problems where ever went (be it his attitude, arrests or whatever) and he has no one to blame but himself. He said he has learned his lesson but it may be too late for him to get another shot at the NBA.
I don't expect to see him in the NBA. He's done too many things against the rules and what not, and I don't know if any team in the NBA is going to want to take a chance on him. He hasn't played in what, 2 years. His last stint was with the Lakers I believe and really didn't do much there. He seemed lost at most times and didn't look like the Isiah Rider that was the key element at one point in time for the success of the Blazers. I don't see any team taking a chance on him cause of his past and the fact that he hasn't played in 2 years and no one knows what he's going to be like.
There comes a point where you just have to draw the line and have everyone (i.e. NBA GM's) come into agreement that this guy should not be in the NBA, at all, period. This guy crossed that line, numerous times. He has the tools, yes, he might even finally have the right attitude, but his past behavior cannot be excused. He's useless and never proved himself in the NBA, therefore, if any team takes a chance on him, I would be really surprised.
