Lowlights including controversy surrounding that flagrant foul [IMG]

Don't get me wrong though; his kind of size/rebounding/toughness is just what we need if we plan on getting anywhere. Can't wait to see him in action

I've never been a fan of this guy. Fortson is too short at 6-7 to score inside, blogs the ball when he tries to drive in from the perimeter and will leave his man defensively to get a better position to rebound. He'll get the stats and look good for you, but the harm he causes within the system will be far greater than the rebounds he brings.

He'll give u a good effort inside, and with consistent minutes can tally 8 ppg/10 rpg, but hes extremely undersized and will likely be exposed defensively against the post beasts of the West...

Say what you want about his defense, the fact that he gets his shots blocked, the fact that he has an attitude problem, the fact that he has been injury plagued, etc. He is the best rebounder in the league today, period. When he plays he rebounds, he fouls hard, and he doesn't back down. All things that the Sonics have lacked since Shawn Kemp has left.

Spot on there. For a guy who has a proven record of producing statistically when he is given minutes, there has to be other reasons for his inconsistent minutes throughout his career thus far, and the fact he's never gotten minutes on a winning team. In fact I remember my reaction to him breaking Cabarkapa's wrist was "suspend him until the kid can play again". There is no doubt he's a punk. However, bottom line is Seattle NEED rebounding, they NEED interior toughness and they NEED an enforcer. Danny won't turn this team into a title contender and he has his weaknesses, but he does fulfill these needs. And we only gave up a guy in Booth who had never contributed.

I saw quite few of Danny Fortson last year with Mavs. Whenever he came in the game he always seemed to do some thing good. I think he can still produce given the right situation. Before the trade I predicted the sonics would be a low 30's team but I can see us as a high 30's or maybe even in the 40's. This also means we will get see a little more swift this year aswell, maybe he can do something.
I think this makes Radman the odd man now thou, he's isn't going to get as many min at pf any more and he's not going to get the minutes he needs at sf backing up lewis. I see him being shipped off by the trade deadline.
