I won't go into depth but the guy is money. Speed, quickness, defense, offense, passing, dribbling skills. He has it all except he's got no range on his jumper and has no size so he's pretty much forced to drive or dish. And then when he draws several fouls a night and get banged up, it will increase his chances of spending time on the injured reserve list. The guy is so injury prone. Bottom line is had the guy stayed healthy his game would be like Allen Iverson except without the J. That's how much impact he makes with his quickness/speed and one-on-one skills. I got respect for Speedy. 12 pts 2 steals 6 assists (I see his scoring mostly coming from dribble penetration, fastbreaks off turnovers, and trips to the free throw line. It will be on and off since some guards can handle him well and others can't or if the interior defense has a lot of shotblockers)
It would be just fine with me if he was as productive as he was last year except with an improved jumper, 1 more assist per game, and stays healthy this year.
What sold me on him was the night he got in that scuffle with Payton. He was owning Gary all night, but then again so were alot of PG's last year. lol.
Claxton is our point guard of the future, and I have no idea why Mullin brought in Fisher, because he must have guaranteed a starting position to him. While he was injured a lot last year, I don't think we should be ready to give his starting job to someone else.
Speedy needs to start, remember at the beginning of last year, he was awful coming off the bench, he just never really got into the flow. I have a tremendous amount of confidence in his offensive game, he hits that 18-20 footer at the top of the key very consistently, he can get by anybody (except maybe Pietrus, but we'll never know), and he gets to the line like AI, injuries are obviously a concern, but it's out of our hands. On defense I like his intensity and propensity to steal the ball and jump in the passing lanes, his on the ball denfense leaves something to be desired, but that's why we got Dfish. 14pts 6.5 Asst. 2.5 steals
The big key with Claxton is staying healthy. There is no doubt that he will continue to produce for the Warriors like he did last year. I don't think Mullin promised Fisher the starting role, Fisher came here for the money.
Oh yeah I totally forgot about his hustle and his aggressive defense. Those are also his biggest attributes. Also I've never seen a 5'10 guard leap like he does. When he won that jump ball against Marquis Daniels I nearly crapped myself. And then there's plays where he's going to dunk the ball but he underhands it instead. The guy should dunk more often. Actually no he shouldn't. Remember that Memphis game where he banged his hand on the rim because he thought about dunking and wowing the crowd. Not a good idea. No question about it Claxton is the starter. He's horrible off the bench. Same thing with Calbert Cheaney. He was better as a starter.
Well, you don't simply throw 6 mils per year to outbid other teams, which offers better winning situation and starting job. And, you don't offer 6 mils to back up PG without an upside. So, unless Speedy completely outplay Fisher, Fisher will be a starter, along with some excuse like 'Speedy will be a spark plug from the bench'. Or, it will make Mullin foolish by spending 6 mil on back up PG. For the prediction, 11/6/1.5 steals with major consideration for 6th man of the year. Also, major complains from fans to promote Speedy as a starter...
