The Nets hope Vaughn can provide productive minutes off the bench to give Jason Kidd time to rest. Kidd is recovering from knee surgery. ``He is a veteran who can come in and run the show for us behind J-Kidd,'' Nets general manager Ed Stefanski said. ``We can't play J-Kidd the amount of minutes we have in the past, and we know that. This is a decision we made to lessen that load.'' The 6-foot-1 Vaughn played for the Atlanta Hawks last year and averaged 3.8 points and 2.7 rebounds in 71 games. Buford is extremely athletic but other than that really nothing much more, from what I have seen of him. I mainly remember him from that sixers team that went to the finals vs the Lakers in 2001, because he played pretty well in limited minutes in the eastern conference finals that game AI missed against the Bucks that year. He also had a good year with Memphis awhile back. But he never got off the bench in Sacro especially in the playoffs with the exception game 6 in the Minny series, after AP got ejected for the punch thrown at KG. I mean the guy is mainly here as a roster filler, but he might just end up bringing a little something unexpected being an atletic player coming into kidd's open court style. As far as Jacque Vaughn, well he gets to say he played behind the 2 of the greatest pure point guards to ever play in John stockton and now Jason Kidd, he'll have stories to tell. Vaughn is basically here not to make mistakes when kidd goes to the bench. Last year the turnover ratio was horrible when Kidd went to the bench with us not having a backup especially in the playoffs. But Vaughn is a pretty smart pg, so mistakes should be limited now compared to before when Kidd sat to rest. And that will probably allow him to rest a little longer now. But as for Vaugn's indiviual production not really expecting much, he just isnt that type of pg.
Good signings but if they had these guy's last year they would've gotten much, much further than they did. But I hope they help this upcoming season because will the absence of Martin there gonna need it.

They came in a season too late. Those guys are back up material. Not your type of players who'll play majority of the game.
