wow...just shows how desperate the nets were to get rid of KK's contract. but to get nothing in the way of immediate help in return? wierd!

kidd will most likely be next, unless the nets have somethin else on the go

Everybody is saying that the Nets management have lost their mind or have being smokin some good stuff. But you gotta figure that they gotta have a plan in mind or they wouldn't just be doing all these trades. Their gotta be cookin something up if not they gotta have lost their mind. But lets see where this all goes.

I have a question. They said the Nets get a $9M Trade Excemption or something
like that. I'm not familiar with the rules on this. Can they use this to sign
Dampier outright, without doing a sign and trade?

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Henacy:</div><div class="quote_post">All I care about is Rj staying, if he goes the Nets have no direction nor anyone to build around. Not for sure why he stays if Kidd goes but hopefully Rod can convince that we will be willing to do anything to keep him happy over his probable 7 year deal if he decides to stay with us. But Rebuilding has begun.

The Nets shoppped Kittles everywhere possible, he just wasnt great trade bait even with his contract ending. Teams rather sign a cheap wing player then trade for an aging one for 9 mill even if its only for a season. But I was at least expecting a 1st rounder.</div>

Yeah. If they're going to rebuild, RJ is a good cornerstone. As I've said in another thread, trade Kidd. He deserves a ring.

Rj is diffenatle a good conerstone to build around with a pf or c and a pg to be added just like the big three once they have that in place those draft picks that we got will fall into place with trades and prospects that we can draft. I kinda like the direction that the we are going in it as long as we can keep jefferson. Its time to rebuild and RJ is young enough to get his skills up that by the time we will be done rebuilding he will be one of the top SF in the game and he will be a veteran. But how do we keep him? What do we tell him? I Know they'll tell him their doing it all for to better his future in NJ instead going to the playoffs and going now where build a team around him that will go to the finals and eventually the championship

I have to agree with most of you. The nets are goign no where. THey dont need anymore draft picks they have enough, THey should have at least got a palyer from thsi trade or the k-mart trade. The nets are going nowhere fast. It probably means they are goign to start rebuilding and kidd will walk. Same as jefferson unless he gets a lot of dough.

This has to be the worst trade in the last 5 years. I understand that Kerry Kittles had a big contract, but was it worth getting rid of when all you are getting in return is a second round draft pick? I'm not understanding all of these trades, maybe the Nets do have something planned...but I'm not going to speculate anything yet. Just as long as Kidd is out of New Jersey I'm happy. I would love to see him in Dallas! They would give anyone a run for a championship! There are so many possibilities out there and this off season has been good and bad...I guess we will see!
