Richardson had been expected to stay with the Clippers, so the move is somewhat of a surprise.

"We're pretty ecstatic," Suns general manager Brian Colangelo told Ford. "I think he's going to be a fantastic addition to our team."

I still don't even know why the made an offer to him in the first place. I thought Joe Johnson was their future. Unless Marion is on his way out.

As a Clipper fan, this is another horrible move by the clipps. Quentin was a class act when he was in LA and I wish him all the best in Phoenix.

I Dont understand what Phoenix is doing here..do they plan on Shipping out Joe Johnson or Matrix? I think this was a stupid move by the Clippers not to match, I think he was just about ready to explode on the scene and put in 20+ a game..

Dumb signing in my mind. You can't ever have enough depth, but JJ has proved with Marbury gone, and now with a Pass first PG in Nash, that he can step his game up like he did last year.

[IMG] for me personally to see Q leave the Clips because I am a clipper fan and he is one of my favorite players in the nba but i wish him all the best in Phoenix.

same old Clippers....save money this year and wait until next year....

do they really think that they're going to be able to sign a player better than Q from free agency next season?

I Differ From What You All Are Saying In Marion Being Traded I Believe Suns Will Trade Jj For A Center... And The Clipps Will Never Be A Good Team Until They Get A New Owner

I dont think the suns would Trade Johnson..him and Amare are supposed to be their future..I think they could end up trading away Marion for Damp and a filler...

    Possible Starting Lineup?
    C- Erick Dampier
    PF- Amare Stoudamire
    SF- Joe Johnson
    SG- Quentin Richardson
    PG- Steve Nash

That is a good, scary lineup with Nash feeding the ball to Amare and it would be hard to double because Johnson can knock down the outside shot, and when Q Rich gets going you need to give him the ball...I think they just made themselves a Def. Playoff team...I wonder how fast it will be before we see Marion or Johnson shipped out..

Marion is on the block right now, I'm not happy about it, because I'm not big on Q-Rich's defensive ability, the guards on the team would be pretty weak defensively with Nash and Q.
Anyways, Marion could probably be shipped for Dampier and a filler, a decent filler, not garbage, or somewhere else, who knows.

I'll say this, no Suns fan can complain about the offseason we have had or the Marbury trade. What a great offseason!

I keep hearing this but it will never happen (I almost wish it would but I love Maron). New Orleans is moving to the Western Conference this year and you need more size in the western conference then in the eastern conference. Orleans would not give up a big for a small. Plus they are very high on Magloire. This trade will never happen.

This trade doesn't make sense for the Hornets. They need a Center to compete in the West, they're not the Dallas Mavs...

The Suns do need a center but you don't trade away a star like Marion away for an average center who can score a little and rebound. Thats what you call undervalueing what Marion brings to the table.

Joe Johnson should be the guy who should be on the block, not the matrix.

I am kind of shocked the Clippers didnt match because they were suposedly going to maybe they think Kerry Kittles can replace Q Rich [IMG].

About Shawn Marion,he is a 20 10 guy and a really good defensive player, I
would rather have him starting SF,JJ proved himself but he should understand that Marion should get the start instead of him,JJ will still get solid minutes and maybe he could come in and try to run PG a little. To me there would be no point to trade Marion when he is arguably the best player on the the Suns.

best player on suns uhh no best between jj and him yes...better numbers and depend on more yes but amare better than marion and nash' performs his "JOB" better than marion will but yes i believe he is #2 player on that team....and they would love to see barbosa get alot of minutes off the bench at PG....a trade is unavoidable....its JJ or MARION
