I'm not sure about could, I'm sure it can be accomplished by another QB not many thats for sure, now if some other QB has already done it. I have no clue. Have they?

In that case she should have said 250+ yards passing, and 115 rushing because thats what Vick did.

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (TheBeef)</div><div class='quotemain'>I found 2 instances of the accomplishment on the 1st 2 players I checked:

Aaron brooks 203 Passing(2 TDs), 108 Rushing vs. SF 2000
    Donovan McNabb 230 Passing(2 TDs), 100 Rushing(1TD) vs Jax 2002

So either the statement was 200 rushing and 100 passing, which he hasnt done, or its 200 passing and 100 rushing, which he has done along with other QBs....either way, the mis-statement has been exposed and my work is done....</div>

I'm glad that you are feeling better about yourself [IMG] I know your type...work with 'em all day, every day.

You can keep adding disclaimers all day until you get what you want, there a lot of that going on....I could say "What other QB can throw for 230 and 2 TDs will running for 100 yards and a TD?"....only D-MAC has done that in recent history, and by getting that specific, I can make the numbers dance for me....the point being, that the original statement made was not accurate, no one has done that in recent history(I say recent histroy, because who knows what QBs did years ago when no game logs were kept)....I watched him last weekend and he looked great, my problem with Vick as a QB is not when he looks unstoppable, its when he looks like a 12 year old trying to play in the NFL, its the game that they lose because he cant get it done....to me, the real shame is that the Falcons are one of the most talented teams in the NFL, but everyone assumes there a one man show....I truely believe that Vick may win them a game or 2 a year with his legs, but he loses the same ammount because he holds on to the ball too long....

I hear you but my point is that MV is ALREADY winning with what he has. Imagine once he has been in the offense for more than one season and starts learning the intracacies of running an offense - HE WILL BE UNSTOPPABLE!

Unfortunately, The Falcons wouldn't be the same team w/o Vick - not until they get a few more playmakers on both sides of the ball. They were 5-11 with basically the same team last year. Vick came in and posted a 3-1 record WITH THAT SAME GROUP OF GUYS and now this season they are 12-5. They are not a one man team but they sure as heck play better when he is in the game.

This is my biggest problem with the Vick phenomenon....he will never be unstoppable, because no one ever will....no matter how physically gifted he is, theres always gonna be mad scientist coaches out there that will develop game plans to stop him, its inevitable....the shame is that as he learns to play within the system, his athletic ability will break down so he isnt likley to ever be what you are envisioning, a Pro Bowl passer and an electric runner....a look through the history of the league tells you that as QB's develop as pocket players, they stop running, look at Cunninghams numbers, in his best seasons, he ran sparringly but passed effectively and Vick will likely make that conversion too....having wheels is great, I would prefer that my QB had them, but they are not the end all, pocket pressence, arm strength, accuracy, leadership, system comfortability are all more important, and if you dont believe that, take a look at the QBs of all 39 Super Bowl winners, every one of them were pocket passers at the time they won the Super Bowl, some of them had wheel, like Young and Elway, but they used them only after making the proper progression and then running to salvage what they could get, when Vick starts to do that, I will be the right on the bandwagon....

The only reason Falcons won so many games is because they had a very, very soft schedule. During the regular season Teams played with a record of >.500- 10 (7 wins), Teams played with a record of .500 3 (2 wins), Teams played with a record of <.500 3 (2 wins). So, you can't figure why people think that the Falcons are overrated? Hell with a schedule like this the even the Vikings would of won 11 games and would of gotten a first round bye!!!

If your figures are correct, that means the Falcons played .700 ball against bad teams, .666 ball against average team and .666 ball against good teams, thats actually a pretty consistent performance by the team.....I think that is a sign they were a good team, but not a great team....

We are still talking about the NFL arent we? I dont care how "soft" their schedule was because you dont win 11 games unless you are a good football team. Any of those teams could have beaten the Falcons but they didnt for a reason and if the "Any given Sunday" is true then ANY team in the NFL can lose to anyone. You just cant handle a team having success.

A long thread that ends up with the same question's in place... Sort of like a tethered ballon trip I took once. A lot of air huffed and expelled, and still ended up in the same place. It was fun, but somehow I felt cheated by the experience.

Vick is good. Falcon's are good. Falcons will get better when Vick learns the "O" and passes before he runs. Thta is NFL football despite the hype that you hear. The "Michael Vick Experience" ride cannot win long term (at least based on the history of the league). Between McNabb and Vick this weekend I choose McNabb as a more rounded player playing within their system.

Any team that wins that many games (despite how many teams they beat [IMG] )is winning when they need to win. Teams don't pick their schedule. I had them (falcons) picked this past weekend over the Rams. I figured that Vick would do enough that they couldn't defend to make a difference. I picked right... But against the Eagles.... ? The "D" from Philly will likely prove too strong for Vick.

Oh man sorry, that was seriously a typo. I didnt even notice. Any of those teams, not 11. I was thinking of their record and typed it wrong. My error.

    Fixed it.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Players and teams get overrated because the NFL WANTS to make them overrated. The NBA died when Jordan, Magic and Bird (etc.) retired</div>

Yup that is true especially about the NBA, they try so hard to forget jordan, they label anyone who is a guard the next jordan (aka kobe bryant, lebron james)...I mean the NFL has great ratings so they dont have to label players the next such and such
