Now that the Lakers are beoken up and maybe not a top team in the West i dont see any reason why the Spurs aren't the team to beat next season.Playoffs spots are still open, Their is only three spots i see that is alread filled 1.Spurs 2.Wolves 3.Kings 4.? 5.? 6.? 7.? 8.? I just cant fill the rest with for-sure teams to fill in
I would imagine Nuggets Rockets Suns Jazz Lakers would round up the seedings, but again It's so tough to decide purely due to the west being so strong. Teams like Memphis and Dallas could miss out. They havn't really done much to improve their teams while the other teams have brought in key guys. Rockets need a point guard If they want to get homecourt advantage. Right now I would put them there due to having Mcgrady and Yao. Phoenix I fully expect to be very good next season. They still need a center but they have so many offensive weapons who can score 20 any night. Amare is bound to improve his overall game, They had a great off-season by adding in Nash and Richardson. Utah picking up Boozer was HUGE, Okur was a good addition as well. They also managed to bring back a few of their starters. Those guys will be really tough The west is very tough to predict.
Allnet is right, The west is very hard to predict. With the Pheonix team being upgraded this year, they are now in the playoff hunt. Other teams like Dallas are losing key players like Steve Nash, who was the Mavericks' floor general. There are so many teams in the west ranked 8-10 (or 11) that can make the playoffs in the East. But at this point i see it going something like this: 4.Nuggets 5.Suns 6.Lakers 7.Rockets 8.Jazz
1) Minnesota 2) San Antonio 3) Sacramento 4) Denver 5) Houston 6) Dallas 7) Lakers 8) Jazz That's my predictions, as of now. But there's also the Grizzlies, Suns, Hornets and Portland who have a good chance at making it. It's very had to predict, especially anything after 4. I would expect the Spurs to finish with home court advantage for at least the first round, and be a serious championship contender. The Lakers were the toughest competition, and the Spurs come close to beating them in the last playoffs. Now the Lakers have lost Shaq, making them less of a threat come playoff time. With that, I expect the Spurs to go all the way provided they're healthy.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting the_greatest#23:</div><div class="quote_post">Whats next for the Spurs?</div> I say send Tim Duncan to the East (Pacers) to piss Shaq off lol jk
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting realdealbneal:</div><div class="quote_post">I say send Tim Duncan to the East (Pacers) to piss Shaq off lol jk</div> HAHAHAHA Tim is untouchable he is going to led the Spurs to a secound title in three yrs the West going to be unknown all spots are going to come down to the final regular season game i dont think any team is the West is going to have a big advantage in the standing its going to be a race to the finish
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting LakerSource:</div><div class="quote_post">WoW, cause the lakers lost shaq doesnt mean anything. There still going to be up there.</div> To us it does mean something Shaq cause alot of problems for us. anything can and will happen. where is Dampier going for one NY, Memphis,Dallas, Sun, even the Lakers. This guy can make any of this teams in the top four in the west or east. I don't think they(Lakers) are going to be up there but i do think they will be in the bottom 5-9 teams after the top dogs in the west
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting LakerSource:</div><div class="quote_post">WoW, cause the lakers lost shaq doesnt mean anything. There still going to be up there.</div> Man thats like saying if we lose Duncan , that doesnt mean anything...in other words its idiotic.Without shaq who's ur last line of defense?...40 yr old Vlade?...or 6-8 Brian Grant? Face it LA is done until they get a decent big-men , until then there defense will be horrible...down there with Dallas , except not as explosive as the Mavs on offense.Thats why I dont even see them making the playoffs: 1.Spurs 2.TWolves 3.Kings 4.Jazz-looks surprising this high but I like their team , they almost made it to the playoffs with nothing last yr and now they added Snyder , Humphries , Okur , Boozer , and Harpring whos coming back from his injury. 5.Nuggets 6.Rockets 7.Memphis 8.Mavs
i agree the LAKE-Show is done i think the Rockets are going to take there spot in the west I think the Lakers are going to have to fight for that 8 spot memphis is going to move up along with Denver.
Tim Duncan will retire a spur just like the Admiral. He is too loyal to the SPURS to move, and they will never allow him to leave S.A.
1. Spurs 2.T-Wolves 3. Kings 4. Nuggets 5. Rockets 6. Lakers 7. Jazz 8. Mavericks The West is too hard to predict, but this is what I happen to think. LA isn't really done. THey just have no shot at a title now that Shaq is gone. If you guys think Odom, Butler, and some old bum can replace Shaq your crazy. The dynasty of the Lakers is officially over ever since Shaq was traded to the Heat. The Lakers will still be good though. Probably a top 10 team in the league arguable.
1. Spurs 2. T'wolves 3. If the kings trade Peja they will drop like a rock 4-10. It's an open field - Rockets, Suns, Nuggets, and Jazz will make it. Everyone else will fight for the last three spots.
