"I jammed my finger," Iverson said. "It swelled up real bad. They wanted me to get it X-rayed. By the time I got back, the game had already started. It's just a sprained ligament. I probably will play if it gets any better."</div>

Although, it's just a sprained finger, I don't like don't sound of, "It swelled up real bad. This is sounds like a broken record, but what in the world is wrong with him? How in the world is he always getting injured like this, we'll what ever the case may be, that finger better be good by Saturday against Puerto Rico and he better not damage it again.

You just gotta love the heart. After a minor injury like that, most players would call it off for a week, but not Iverson.

Yeah you gotta love the guy, plus jammed fingers don't really take that long to recover, so I believe he's gonna lace up tomorrow.

I agree I have had the same thing happen to me before it is just a sprain it swells up a bit and becomes black and blue in the area were it got hurt. The pain subsides usually in 2 or 3 days and the swelling goes down in about a week. Nothing to worry about imo its just a sprain. He has had much worse injuries than this yet still was able to play through them he will be fine he has the heart to play.

Even in it is a break it doesnt sound to bad it will probable heal by its self as well if it is a break in 2-3 weeks he should not miss any games do to this and I dont expect him to. Hopefully he does well in there next game and the usa continues to dominate.

Meh, it's a sprained finger, I've played with 2 sprained fingers before, so it's nothing big.

I don't know where you get that idea. Players seldom take off for a minor injury to their hand.

lol Kobe how long did that cut to his hand keep him out about what a month or so lol. AI has a big heart alot of players these day say they are tough, but some take days off for a hang nail and call it a hand injury these days.

Kobe Bryant story was completely different though. From what I remember I think he had stitches, which is much more severe than Iverson's injury. So you can knock Kobe for that.

If it is just a jammed finger then I know what he is going through. It's no excuse to miss games but it hurts like hell, especially when you jam it over and over again during games.

Oh, at first i got worried when i saw the name of the topic just a jammed finger, it happens to me all the time happens playing the passing lane and stuff, it just swells up and turns colors but if you try and pop it it gets better the next day or in two days it really depends on how bad it is. but he will be fine, he has played with broken finger before so this shouldnt be hard for him to play through if hasnt healed by game time.
