I have read a couple of articles saying he is seriously considering an offer to rejoin Paul Silas at the Cavs, and provide some help at the 4 and the 5. Thoughts? If he comes cheap, then I think it would be a smart trade for the Cavs, as he will give you 15 minutes a game of a physical body in the middle.

He could be an ok addition to the Cavs,he would give them some energy off the bench and could also give more depth to the Cavs frontcourt and would be a good back up for Drew Gooden.

I wouldnt want him. He seems out of shape when he was with the hornets to me. He wouldnt be able to keep up with the teams offensive style or hustle back on defense. They would probable get him for a little under the MLE though like starting at 2.5 million or something like that. If they can get him at that price then I guess its worth a shot.

Nothing over the starting price of 3 million should even be considered by the cavs. He is not that good a player and doesnt deserve that type of money since odds are that he will either not see many minutes or get injured do to the shape his body is in sometime through the season.

He will also be playing behind gooden who is definitly gona see most of the minutes in the lineup do to the fact he is gona be there only guy that can run, and score for them alot. Traylor doesnt have the speed to keep up with the NBA game any more seems more like a shawn kemp was in his later dsays in the league.

I wouldnt mind him if he came cheap but if he's gonna take up a lot of cap space I'd leave him in New Orleans. He would be the 5th or 6th big man in the lineup. Drew Gooden, Big Z, Desagana Diop, Anderson Varejao, Tractor Traylor.

I don't know if that is any particular order, but it looks like it. Traylore would not be behind Varejao. Varejao isn't going to be a big contributor this year, if ever, correct me if i'm mistaken. I think he might even go ahead of Diop since Diop is pretty fat himself, but diop can get some blocks. Whatever, i wouldn't mind too much either way if i'm the cavs.

I didnt mean them in that order, I was just stating the big men on the cavaliers roster and I would put Diop before Traylor.

Only if he takes under 2 million which he probaly won't. Didn't like him before when he played for the Cavs and don't really like him now.

The Trailor Is Rolling Into Clevland

I cant post you guys the link to the story since it requires registeration, but according to hoopshype.com the cavs are expceted to announce the signing of Robert Tralyor soon. He has reportable signed with the team for 1.6 million.

Like I said in a thread about this move possible happening a few days ago if they got him for under 2.5 million it would be a good move and so it is. With signing him for a reported 1.6 million they further strengthen there 4 position and compensate for the lose of boozer yet again with another player to fill the void. Left by boozer.

He will give the cavs a deep deep front line by signing with them possible one of the best astern front lines with gooden, Z, and Lebron who is moving to the 3 next season. He will be good for them coming off the bench. He also makes up for the vet leadership lost when battie was traded. I just think he needs to get in shape thoughts?

Yeah I read this too, figured if they were getting him on the cheap then it would be worth it. He's not much and is a huge lottery bust, but Tractor will give them 15-20 minutes a night of physical play. In the East that is invaluable.

What about him? He is not a free agent or anything so I assume everything is cool with him. Can you expand more on this post because its kind of hard to understand what oyu are asking right now?

This is a good signing, he can be a positive influence on the younger guys and is pretty quick for a guy of his size, he will add much needed help to our back up front line of Diop, and Varejao. Big Z, and Drew can handle the starting role's its just the back ups are not proven yet and this contract is good for the cavs and they get a good player.

This guy is pointless. I guess that there was no way they were getting Stromile. I would of loved to have him with Lebron.

Getting Tractor for $1.6 million is very good. For a guy who can bang bodies with the likes of Shaquille O'Neal, which is very important now for every team in the Eastern Conference.

Adding the fact that Traylor gets along very well with Paul Silas is a big plus.

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Cavaliers sign Robert Traylor
CLEVELAND, August 5 ? The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed free agent Robert Traylor to a contract, Cavaliers President and General Manager of Basketball Operations Jim Paxson announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

?We think Robert can play a role in our front court," said Paxson. "He is a veteran and solid defender with five seasons of playoff experience whose physical presence will help us. He fits into Paul?s system well and has a good attitude about doing what is asked of him to help make the team successful.?

Traylor will return for his second stint with the Cavaliers. In 70 games with Cleveland during the 2000-01 season, he posted career-highs of 5.7 points and 4.3 rebounds in 17.3 minutes per game. Throughout his six-year NBA career, Traylor has played in 364 career games posting averages of 4.6 points and 3.6 rebounds in 13.5 minutes per contest. Traylor has appeared in 22 career playoff games during five postseason appearances, including eight games with the Charlotte Hornets in 2001-02 when Paul Silas was the head coach. </div>

That's probably not good, as I don't think they should have even thought about signing him. He probably won't get much game time, which he won't like. I don't think it was a good move, personally.

Whats wrong with adding more depth? Nobodys expecting him to really be a big part to this team, he's just a low risk high reward guy. He's a big body off the bench if we feel we need to get physical with a team/player. He's only signed for a year, I think it's a solid move.

Im all for the addition of The Tractor. I've been a fan of his since his Michagan days. Sure hes fat, but hell hes cheap and will do his job. As long as he doesnt exceed 300 lbs then he should be ok.

Traylor is a good additon to our frontcourt. He'll play D, rebound, add toughness, and set picks. Hes familiar with Silas' system and is a hard worker.
