I've followed UNC since the days of Perkins and Jordan. This organization has always been in the elite and if you like them you better hate Duke. Light Blue over Royal any day. My favorite Tarheel tandem has to be Stackhouse/Rasheed over all the rest. I'm also preparing for a pretty good upcoming season as well.
I have been a TarHeel since I was born, my dad attended UNC, in the '70s. My favorite UNC tandem has to be Billy Cunningham and Bob McAdoo, or James Wothy and MJ. Hey why dont we start up a tarheels lounge. There is enuff fans to start it. It could be in the college basketball section.
UNC! UNC! UNC! I love the heels. I want to go there when im in college i want to start at PG. I nearly cried when they lost to texas. I think they will go all the way this year guys. There good probably this will be the first time in a long time that they will make the championship game.

I don't find myself being a fan of UNC at all, though. Sure they have good players, but I'm just not really a fan. If I'm a fan of any team in the ACC it's got to be Wake Forest.
I'm a diehard Heels fan having grown up in the area. I attended almost every home game from '83 until the end of the '89 season when I moved to Seattle and attended EVERY home game from '93 to '99 (altho' I kinda got away from UNC during the Fab Five era but thats another story) when I moved back to the area. Anyways I love the team and I love Roy Williams,I just dont think that have alot of faith in him or his system of coaching. Last season was horrible for us we underacheived bad. I'm not gonna hold my breath about resurgent Heels squad so maybe I'll be suprised if they do. On a side note,I expect Wake to be a dominant team in the ACC this season.

They have a very nice center, Eric Williams, but he never gets to put up big numbers because every game he plays he seems to get into foul trouble early. They do, however, have their general out there, Chris Paul, the freshman of the year. Also, they have Gray who can hit some shots and Jamaal Levvy who can score and is a great rebounder. And they also have Vytas Daneluis(sp?) who can be a scorer and good rebounder. They have a very nice starting lineup. Do we all remember the UNC-Wake triple OT game? Man that was one crazy game.
I must say, I am not a Tar Heels fan. I hate Duke, but I can't stand Felton, May, and McCancer. Go Terps!
I live in Maryland and I havn't heard one person start to get hyped up about the upcoming season, it's nothing like the other years so TGSD don't have your expectations too high.
I don't want to turn this into a Terps thread but they will surely be in the top of the ACC next year. They've got their full team intact from last year, minus Jamar Smith. Gilchrist will tear it up, proving why he's better than Raymond Felton. At the end of last year, the freshman turned into sophomores and the sophomores turned into juniors...and they won the ACC Tourney! They were hurt so much from their inexperience, yet by the end, we had Mike Jones and D.J. Strawberry pulling through on both ends of the floor. I have no doubt that this upcoming season will be much better for the Terps and they'll establish themselves among the ACC's elite.
Yeah it looks like you guys got a good team this year but its that u guys wont go anywhere in march madness you guys will suck badly because your are playing the greatest team in the NCAA...UNC!

I think they will make it to the Final Four and win the championship. They hjave a really talented team this year and McCAnts, MAy, and Felton should lead them to a victorious year. One thing i was disapointed about was that JR SMith didnt come to UNC but instead went to the NBA draft. But they should still be a very good team. MAybe about 3 to 5 losses this year.
