After recieving a suspension from Larry Brown due to arriving late to the team meeting, Iverson was forced to sit down against the US first exhibition game against Puerto Rico. Now some may wonder, is this the Allen Iverson that was being hyped up a couple weeks about being a leader? As we all know there have been talks about him being so committed and what not to the team, and that he will take on the leadership role starting with the Olympic Team. But unfortunately things didn't turn out his way, so does this make you think twice about Allen Iverson commitment? And how will this affect his relationship with Brown? I know Iverson was looking forward to this game, so could this stir up a little bad blood between them? I personally think this means nothing, but I know for a fact that his so called leadership will be questioned by the media. Well AI better get ready for a media beating.
I think this may create a little contriversy between the USA teammates though I think it is wrong how people look at this situation and see AI's name and single him out over lebron and amare saying those two were only late because AI is a bad influence on them? Man he is not there parent or anything each of thos eplayers are grown men that make there own desicions. True AI should hold himself to a higher standard being the captin of team USA, but to just see his name and single him out is sort of bias on most peoples parts because of his history with thee things. I think suspending them for thegame was a little rash on larry browns part espcially over all the praise him and AI have been giving to each other over the past wek. In the long run I think this was nothing to do with larry having anything against AI, but just to show that he demands respect from all players he will be responsable for them for the entire olympic games in a totally different contry so he should have everything under control to show he will demand respect and get it. I think this was sort of a message suspension to just send a message to everyone thats why it was a little harsh. I think it was a bad move on everyones part AI, lebron, and amare for showing up late. Larry Brown for basically humiliating them by showing ther emistake to everyone around the world by suspending them rather than talking to them in private. Hopefully this doesnt happen again and everyone can just move on. It was really bad for both parties involved, but the team pulled out a win and everyone learned there leason. No need to add fuel to the fire and make it anything bigger than that.

There are numerous reasons why he will be singled out. First, he has a bad reputation and this situation is any different from the others, so this is basically deja-vu all over again. And LeBron James and Amare Stoudemire are going to get sympathy from the media, and the media is going to say such things as ?They are young, and they don?t any better?, for one reason only? to single Allen Iverson out. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Larry Brown for basically humiliating them by showing ther emistake to everyone around the world by suspending them rather than talking to them in private.</div> He did humiliate them but he did for a good deed. He?s setting example for the players telling them that they don?t run the show and the players can?t think they have the freedom to do whatever they please. So it was a smart move upon Larry Brown even though I hate it because Iverson had to sit, but that what comes with the territory.
This is definatly not good news for Iverson, i felt bad for him when he was sitting on the bench and they crowd was chanting his name and he couldnt come in, but im glad larry brown did it and showed he was taking this serious im surprised they havent blamed it all on AI yet they tend to do that alot.
Yes it was a bad start but at least he reconginizes he made a mistake and I dont think it will happen again. Also Im glad I ended up not going because I would have been mad if I couldnt see AI Lebron and Amare play.
Larry Brown did good for giving him discipline. Ai tends to need it. O well. Im surprised about Amare though. They still kicked PRs ass even without AI, LeBron, and Amare.
Larry Brown would have done it to anyone on the team that came late. AI, Amare, and Lebron all deserved it. Just cause your superstars doesn't mean you can show up late.
Taking it way out of proportion, all of you. Comments like "Same old AI" are not needed, if you support him, then support him, if you don't then don't jump on the bandwagon when he does something good. This will in no way change the relationship between him, and Brown or with him, and his teammates. Brown and him have had much tougher times, and Lamar has come out and said that this will in no way change his presence as being a leader.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting LakerSource:</div><div class="quote_post">To bad for AI. Do you guys know if he will be traded to anthor team?</div> No he wont. Billy King has shot down all rumors about AI being traded and there has not even been one comment on him being traded since June. He will be back playing for the sixers next season and hopefully for the rest of his career. He has already been talked about by coach o'brien as being a big part of the team next year playing the point guard positon for us and coach o'brien is honset when it comes to talking about players futures with the team as he has already stated that Coleman will not return to the team next year his contract will be bought out or traded. Also a reason that AI will not be traded is one he has matured this off season and two he is marketable. He brings in money for ticket sales and jersey sales and that beneifits the team. There is no one they could get with the acception of lebron which wont happen that can do the same thing in ticket sales and jersey slaes that AI does.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">To bad for AI. Do you guys know if he will be traded to anthor team?</div> Nope, maybe next season but this upcoming season expect him to be in a 76ers Uni. Billy King and Jim O'Brien indicated it over and over that he would be in a 76ers Uni next season, so there is nothing to worry about.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Why on earth is this still being discussed?!</div> Relax, Erin. He obviously didn't know, you can't blame him.
