New Orleans was moved to the Western Conference. [IMG]

*This belongs in the General NBA forum, not really the Knicks forum as it doesn't directly pertain to the Knicks.

I think you are severly overestimating Orlando and Chicago's abilities.

actually i think that orlando will do good this season, they got SOME depth. I don't see chicago going anywhere. but i do think that nirvs is REALLY over-estimating Miami. its doesn't matter whether they got shaq and wade. theres absolutely no depth in the heat atm. and you need depth 2 win.. the pistons are the perfect example of that. look at teams like orlando hu cudnt win with a star like mcdrady. its a team game, you need a team, not 2 players like shaq n wade

how is he REALLY over estimating miami, by putting them in second place rather than third? cmon, its the eastern confrence, he simply feels they are better than pacers, some people say pacers are still better than miami, it depends on who you ask (opinions). although 2 players don't make a team, miami still have great players and are still in the process of rebuilding after dealing 3 starters for one starter, and we will have good ppl to fill the bench and the forward positions before the season begins.

well besides the creator of the post, only the experts are ranking miami at #2 and that is why you rank them so far behind...either that or you're just upset because your team is not worth mentioning when discussing a confrence's top 10 teams [IMG]

    Miami: Shaq, Wade, Jones, Wright

Lakers: Kobe, Payton, Odom, Divac, Grant, Vujacic, and possibly Malone

Okay, the way I see this...Kobe and Shaq are both two of the best players in the league, so I can't really compare them. Now, regardless of what everyone else says, Payton is better than Wade. If you actually think that this young kid has more skill and court awareness than GP, you're dead wrong. Odom is a much better player than Jones...and who knows how Wright will do. You can't say the Heat are going to go farther than the Lakers, because you just never know. Everyone looks at the Heat...and they see Shaq and Wade. Okay...well, if Shaq and Kobe couldn't beat the Pistons last year, what makes you think Shaq and Wade can? I don't even think they'll be any higher than 5th seed in the playoffs. It took a few years for Shaq and Penny to contend for a championship...it took about the same amount for Shaq and Kobe to win one...how long will it take for Shaq and Wade? I don't think Shaq has enough years left in him...if he plays three more years, he'll be lucky.

Pretty funny predictions [IMG] that I think are totally off. I love how NY is at the 4 spot it's hilarious, Orlando is at 5 spot, lol, and that you have Chicago in the 9 spot above the 76ers. NY will be mediocre just like Philly and Chicago will be most likely dead last again. Another funny thing is that you don't see Boston in front of the Bulls? NBA.com actually has Knicks at 18th and Bulls at 28th.

    My Predictions :
    1. Detroit
    2. Indiana
    3. Miami
    4. Milwaukee
    5. Philadelphia
    6. Cleveland
    7. New York
    8. Boston

I'm going to make a bold prediction and say that the Bulls make the playoffs...last seed possibly, but they'll get there...because I see alot of potential in their young lineup, with Hinrich, Gordon and Deng. Not to mention that Crawford is only getting better. Hopefully Curry gets back in shape and the Bulls stick with Chandler...then they'll be a nice group.

But Curry and Chandler are both blossoming bums just like Kwame Brown.

Could be true...but Curry averaged 15 points last season, with 6 boards. Hell, Chandler played about 40 games...20 minutes per game...and had 6 PPG and almost 8 RPG! I think if the Bulls and their organization realized that they had a shot at the playoffs, they would definitely get back in shape and work at winning. Kwame could be a good player...but it's almost like he doesn't even care. Also, I'd rather say I have Curry and Chandler than Shaq and Wang ZhiZhi...because who knows what would happen to Shaq? He's so unpredictable...you don't know if he's going to pick up 5 fouls in three quarters, or fracture his toe, or shoot 10% from the free throw line...but with Curry and Chandler, you know you have two decent players (not exactly stars) that can back each other up during a game. With Hinrich developing quickly, a hard-working Deng, an NCAA champion Gordon, and a scoring threat named Jamal Crawford, the Bulls could do it.

Actually It does, Shaq is the most dominant player in the NBA. He can made any team a top tier franchise. Wade is also one hell of a player, they still need to add some depth but because of their division..they will be a top 3 seed.

Amazing how some Laker fans forget who basically won them 3 titles.

So having Shaq puts them atop of the East, or at the 2nd seed? Well...I remember a guy named Kobe Bryant who hit two clutch threes (one to tie and go into OT, and one game-winner) against the Blazers (last game of the season) that put the Lakers in the #2 seed, instead of I believe it was #4 or #5 that they would've had if they would've lost.

Shaq may have been a huge part of the 3 titles...but here recently, things have changed...and I don't expect Shaq to suddenly improve from the way he has been playing for 2 years now, especially this last year.

Yes Kobe Bryant was a key guy in the Lakers success but he was along for the ride and not the guy who lead L.A to get pass the best teams in the NBA. Yes things have changed recently, other teams have gotten better and L.A got older and had no chemistry. If the Lakers had got Shaq the ball and played as a team, who knows what may of happened. Facts remain, Shaq is still a dominanting force...he won't improve due to age but he can still destroy teams inside and will do for a while. It's hard to shoot the ball alot when you have another guard hogging all the shots.

That shouldn't really be a problem in Miami, Wade doesn't have a big ego like Kobe does to affect Shaq's shots per game.

The bottom half of the east is so bad, the Heat will get a 2nd seed purely by default. All you have to do is look at the other teams in their division.

Miami is way way way too shallow be in the top 3 or even 4 right now. When Shaq get's injured, whats left besides Wade and Jones?

Detroit and Indiana are still the proven top teams in the East. A Championship and 61 wins don't erase themselves you know.

The Knicks are looking good right now, they have depth and players still want to flock there for some reason.

The Magic look like a great all around athletic squad that has some depth. You cant just say Shaq brings the Heat up all of a sudden.

I dont know why you think Miami will be 5th seed? You see their division? Whos going to beat Miami? Orlando? Shaq automatically makes the team a 2nd seed. I also doubt anyone from the Atlantic division can stop them. When you say Kobe hit those clutch shots theses years where did he take them? Kobes finals performance just shows Kobe cant lead a team and is easily stopped. If Kobe fed the ball to Shaq 6 moret times instead of forcing shots up they wouldve won the finals. Shaq led the Lakers to their championships. Kobe led the Lakers to their loses.
