Eagles defense dominated Moss and the Vikings, and the offense dominated this supposed "defense on the rise." Everyone picked the Vikings (good choice), and most of the reason was the rust and no TO. 5 different people had 45+ recieving yards, and there seemed to be no rust and alot of fresh legs. Watch out Atlanta, Eagles are rolling
Watch out Eagles... I watched Atlanta the other night and they looked really sharp. The Eagles/Falcons game should be a good one.

Watch out Atlanta, Eagles are rolling</div> HAHAHAHAHA, you actually think you accomplished something by beating the Vikings and showing some offensive power? The fact that you only put up 27 points is scary for you. Not to mention one of those touchdowns was the craziest fumble I've ever seen. This is the same defense that made people in Chicago think that they had an offense and the people in Detroit believe in Joey Harrington. Minnesota played like crap and deserved to lose. They deserve all the criticism they get, and I hope that there are some major changes on defense. The Eagles looked horrible to me as they missed many different opportunities to put the game away. Look out Eagle's fans...your team is in trouble. P.S. The Eagles have moved up to a VERY close second to GB as my most hated team. The fact that they blitzed with 3 minutes left and up by 20 points was simply classless.
Vikings did play bad, and did deserve to lose that game but they could have taken that game if they played the way they know how to. Eagles didnt win by that much to brag about considering the Vikings played so bad it should have been much worse. I hope the Falcons knock them back to reality next Sunday. P.S. I agree with ya VF, class is something the Eagles and their fans lack!
JustBry and VF, What did Brian Westbrook say that was so horrible?, Everyone in this forum besides Eagle fans had the Vikes winning. This is our moment to give back and he did. VF, your way to intelligent to come with the sore loser response of "you only put up 27 points" and "your team is in trouble". Come on, did you watch the game? I was extremely nervous until midway second quarter. That game was never in doubt after that. Philly sat on the lead like any team the NFL would. How can you say that blitzing with 3 minutes left is classless? Minnesota was moving the ball prior to that on Philly's nickel package with ease, Jim Johnson simply wanted to keep them out of the end zone (which they got anyway). It wasn't like Philly was up by 40 with under 2 minutes with McNabb in the shotgun throwing deep. Justbry, your team won impressively with ex-Eagle Rossum doing the majority of the damage. I'll assure you that your team won't have that kind of field position to work with against Philly. Philly's special teams is ranked a litttttttttttle higher than the Rams (sarcasism). Should be a good one though.
Bednarik, I am being honest. I was not impressed at all with the Eagles. If they were playing a half-way decent Vikings team yesterday, they would have lost. The Vikings were true to form, however, and made sure they brought their F game. Look, I agree that the Vikings should have lost. They deserved the loss...they played horribly. With that said, the Eagles missed several opportunities to put the game away. The only reason I thought the game was over mid-way through the 3rd quarter was because it was obvious that our defense back to its old habits and our offense decided to not play. The Eagle's offense was dreadful yesterday. The few times the Vikings came with some pressure, McNabb folded. The very few times our corners pressed at the line there was no completions. I simply don't see the Eagle's winning the superbowl. If I sound like a sore loser, I'm sorry. I am mad at the Vikings for not even putting up a fight, but I still have a bad taste in my mouth from the Eagles.
I thought the Eagles played better than expected. I wasn't overly impressed but a win is a win. It is going to be a GREAT GAME this weekend! The Falcons have NO PRESSURE to win and they will. McNabb can posture all he wants but the Eagles will be playing not to lose - the pressure is all on them to win.
I don't know about the Falcon's offense, that is the one question mark in this game for me. I'm going to pick the Falcon's for now, but I am tenative. I can actually see the Eagle's going to the SB, but I definitely do not see them beating New England OR Pittsburgh.
Well, I thought they played well after taking 4 weeks off. I mean everyone and their mothers thought that the Eagles were going to be rusty and the Vikings "amazing" offense would tear the Eagles defense apart since they did a great job against Green Bay. Give me a break, the Eagles were a much better team than the Vikings, and the Falcons. What bednarik said is what I was doing, I think 3 people said the Eagles were going to win and the rest said the Vikings were. You weren't impressed? Well I'm sure the Vikings were impressed about how bad they got their asses whooped. And what are you talking about about the late blitzing? It's the gameplan, and they're not going to let the Vikings come within 13 points of the Eagles. If you think that is classless, then your Moonesota Vikings are way on the bottom of the ladder when it comes to class. McNabb folded when they brought pressure? Hah, McNabb was sacked ONE TIME for 0 yards. Yea he didn't handle the pressure at all. He only posted 286 yards and 2 TD's without TO. The pressure really got to him, I mean he did throw all those picks...oh wait that was Culpepper, McNabb didn't throw one. The Eagles could've put the game away anytime, but they obviously didn't have to. They were showing some signs of rust, but after this game I think it's all washed off. The Eagles offense definetly wasn't overly impressive besides Westbrook, but my god their defense looked good. I wish Michael Vick luck against Jevon Kearse. I wish Warrick Dunn luck against Trotter and the amazing d-line. Vikings offense was shut out the whole game until the end when we were up by 20 points. The fact of the matter is once again the Eagles proved all the speculations wrong, and once again do not get the credit they deserve. Coming into this game all we heard was "there's no TO" or "they've been off for 4 weeks," and they crushed the Vikings. Moss was thrown to 11 times and he caught it 3 times. He was starting to look like Pinkston. Our TE, our #2 and #3 WR's had more yards than Moss. Watch out Falcons, the Eagles are back where they left off. It should be a good game, but don't forget that Jim Johnson's main concern will be Vick and the run, and he WILL shut them both down. Our defense is about 30 times better than the Rams, and so is our defensive coordinator. Once we shut down the run, Vick will be forced to throw the ball into our all-pro secondary, the best in the NFC. The Falcons offense doesn't worry me the least bit, but the defense does. They should have fun trying to cover Westbrook though, and if they play bump 'n run on our WR's I expect McNabb to start running. McNabb vs. Vick, McNabb wins
Wow man, you really know how to misread a post. A few points: 1. I have admitted that the Vikings played like crap, which they did. They deserved to lose and the Eagles deserved to win. I was laughing because I know a lot of fans are going to take this game and think it shows just how good the Eagle's are. It really doesn't, it shows just how bad the Vikings could really be. I mean, c'mon, the Vikings made Chicago look like an offensive powerhouse when we played them. I was laughing because you were acting as if winning that game was a major accomplishment. You could have won with the same second string that got cleaned up by Cincy. 2. I actually predicted the Eagles would win, more than once. Don't tell me that everybody picked the Vikings to win. I know better than to think that this team, this year was capable of stringing together consistent performances after such a bad year. 3. Regarding the pressure that I talked about, one of my main complaints against the Vikings was how bad they gameplanned. They NEVER brought pressure. I can only think of two or three blitzes the entire game. What's amazing is that the few blitzes that they came with ended up in no gains or incomplete passes. What's even more amazing is that they didn't continue to blitz and force the Eagle's to beat the blitz. My point in all of this is simple, its easy to win when your QB has 6-7 seconds to throw the ball and your receivers have 10 yards to build momentum on running their routes. Don't take anything from the performance, that's all I'm saying. 4. The Eagle's blitzed with less than 4 minutes remaining. There was no real way the Vikings were going to win. The blitz was an attempt to rub it in, nothing more. I do have respect for some of the Eagles, such as McNabb. He has proved himself to me this year to be a good QB and a good man. As far as the gameplanning is concerned, though, I simply thought that they were rubbing things in towards the end. 5. Understand the message of my post...don't take this game as a measure of how good your team is. The Vikings played a horrible game. A botched fake field goal (which would have been an easy 7 as Moss was completely uncovered), two missed INT's by the defense, two rare INT's by Culpepper, and a rare off game by Moss (I can't remember the last time he had 3 drops), a botched fumble recovery where our player did not establish himself inbounds, and the lucky TD fumble recovery by the Eagles (although it is very likely they would have scored anyways). I understand that there were lucky breaks for the Vikings as well, but they didn't know how to take advantage of them. The Eagle's deserve the win, they deserve credit for taking advantage of the Minnesota mistakes, but don't take the game for an indication of how good the Eagles are. After all, you simply outscored Chicago's production agains the Vikings by 3 points.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BrianWestbrook)</div><div class='quotemain'>McNabb vs. Vick, McNabb wins</div> I dont think so but I will tell you what to give McNabb and the Eagles some credit I will tell you the one advantage you guys have going into Sundays game that the Falcons do not. Are ya ready for this... ..Hotter cheerleaders. So unless your cheerleaders are going to change the outcome of the game, dont get too confident because you may just end up eating your words on Sunday.
VF, I understand your frusterations and late in the game almost anything looks like a team is rubbing it in. However, I assure you, Andy Reid wasn't pulling a Buddy Ryan vs. Dallas in '87. See, we Eagle fans can understand unlike any other when it comes to dissapointments (see the last 30 years) and I, in no way, will rub this one in to you.....I did look back and saw that you predicted a Philly win so I crossed you off of "my list". However, you were one of the very few that did. You might be missing the point though when comparing Philly to Chicago (I know where you were going with this). You know that everything is magnified 10 fold during the playoffs and teams naturally play differently. Philly actually tried running the ball more in the second half just to end the game. Philly does have the hottest cheerleader, even peytonmanning1,er, BF1 can't contest that.

What I really meant there is that the Vikings defense, when they are playing poorly, can make any offense look like the Colts, any quarterback look like a legend, any running back look like Barry Sanders, and any receiver look like, well, look like Randy Moss. I can't tell you how many "career" days opponents have had against the Vikings over the course of the season. So, my message to Philly fans was this: don't take anything from the game. In fact, the whole idea that there was only 27 points put up on the board when realistically the Eagle's could have put up more than 40 is reason for concern. As far as the rubbing it in part, I am probably wrong on this. I personally do not like the Eagles, never have. I will be cheering for them for reasons stated in another thread, so you have another fan for a couple of games. But once the season is over, I am looking forward to a rematch.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (JustBry07)</div><div class='quotemain'>There are quite a few Eagles fans in this forum. I didnt know you were one too.</div> You've got to be young. Don't you know who Bednarik is? Last guy to play offense and defense. Logged 58 minutes in 1960 championship in Vince Lombardi's only championship game loss, 17-10 to Philly.
