We've been blabbing on about Allen Iverson maturity and Allen Iverson this and that for a while now, so enough about him. Let's talk about someone else, how about Kenny Thomas? In my eyes Kenny Thomas was the MVP of the team last season and after averaging a career best last season; he will be a crucial part to this team success next season. If you haven?t noticed, Kenny Thomas has been working on his mid-range game throughout the season. And believe it or not he?s actually sinking some mid-range shots down. His mid-range game is going to be as useful as his post game down in the low post. And with our new style of offense we?re going to need as much perimeter players as we can get. But with that being said, I don?t really see Samuel Dalembert being too much of a compliment big man for Kenny Thomas. I think Marc Jackson would best compliment player for Kenny Thomas than Samuel Dalembert. But KT and Sammy had a hell of a run last season so I can?t knock Samuel Dalembert off, but I still believe Kenny Thomas would be even better if he had Marc Jackson starting along with him. So what are your thoughts on Kenny Thomas next season? BTW please try your best from making statistical predictions. Anyone could predict stats; I see the stat prediction as more of a post-padding type of thing. Well if you decided to post stat predictions give us some insight on why his stats will be like what you predicted.
Kenny Thomas imo is the most underrated player in the nba. When we aquired him from the rockets we got him for basically nothing because the rockets just wanted to get rid of him do to the fact that they wanted to give the starting role to someone else and didnt think that thomas would accept a back up role with the team. Who did we give up for him Bryant? Isnt he already out of the league now? Thomas is a double double guy every night. He comes to play he was our unquestioned leader in the locker room when AI was out robinson was our second leading scorer, but not nearly as much of a influence as thomas was on the team. He is a silent guy, but gets the job done so well like a PJ Brown type player. He has become a great peace to our team when we got him we werent sure how he would perform since he was in the last year of his deal and we got him basically because he was one of larry browns favorite players and for cap releaf. When he performed so well for us he became our most important task to resign that off season and we did. He has not let up on his game at all he is still young, but acts like a vetern. He didnt even need to mature his game any more then he already had, but it is good to see he is working on it. I think that he will be a big peace of our teams season this year he even said at the start of his career all he did was shoot threes one game when he made a three to send the game into ot last year vs the knicks. So it is no suprise he is improved his mid range game to me. He will be a deadly peace of the teams offense next year he is young and athletic and very quick for his position despite only being 6'9" he plays like elton brand. Is a monster on the boards. I hope to see him in a sixer uniform for a long time in the future. He is just the type of player that o'brien likes he reminds me of eric williams. O'Brien's favorite player in boston I hope he makes the all star team this year probable wont by votes from the fans since he is not that popular yet. Though the coaches should vote him in with there vote since the only ebtter power forwards in the east then him are jermaine oneal and rasheed wallace imo.

But Kenny Thomas has very good work ethic, this is the reason why he was shortest players among PF's averaging a double-double. I expect things to turn out the same way it did for him last season, not too much and not too little but good enough to get us a winning record. Our big men are going to be the key that determine our success next season, and I think Kenny Thomas is going to be the vocal point as far as big men goes. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">He is just the type of player that o'brien likes he reminds me of eric williams. I highly doubt that he would make the All-Star game next season but give him another 2 years or so, and anything could happen.

PPG 13.6 RPG 10.3 APG 1.0 SPG .52 BPG 1.23 FG% .473 FT% .751 3P% .000 MPG 33.9 PPG 13.6 RPG 10.1 APG 1.5 SPG 1.11 BPG .45 FG% .469 FT% .752 3P% .200 MPG 36.5 He is nearly the same thing if not better in alomst every catigory exept blocks were he is dominated. No one really expected jamal to be a all star last year, but he was and showed everyone that if you work hard anything is possibly as he was one of the leaders in scoring for the game. Had it not been the west winning he probable would have been the mvp of the game for the east. Every year it seems to me the coaches select a under rated player and put him on the team to give him a shot. Once it was brand then Z last year it was magliour. Hopefully this year it will be thomas that gets his shot at proving he belongs there. From those stats he deserves to be an all star and there will be a spot open since jamal plays for the hornets and they just moved out west.
I agree Jaamal was very much a sleeper like Kenny until this season in my opinion. Given the run-and-gun type of system that we will play, I think he will be very comfortbale with that, as he is athletic. I look to see many more promising games from him, and his domination as a forward in the east. Only things he needs to work on are his blocking, and ball control. Though ball control isn't that big of a factor when you are a forward, especially a power forward, but that would create him into an overall decent player. He needs to be more aggressive in the low post, I know he is phenomenal with his rebounds, but things outside that like blocking, and boxing out should be his number one priorities along with his mid-range game.

In matter of fact you can?t let statistics manipulate you in thinking a certain player is better than another period. Well, I personally think Jamal Magloire is clearly better than Kenny Thomas. Also, there is yet another factor why Kenny Thomas road to All-Star stardom can be sabotaged and that?s Allen Iverson. When you have a one man wrecking machine like Iverson it overshadows the other players on the roster and have people thinking that the remaining players on the roster aren?t as valuable. Even though Jamal Magloire and Kenny Thomas have similar stats, I doubt Magloirte would make the All-Star team if he was on the 76ers. Why? It?s because of the aura that surrounds Iverson. Even though Magloire is playing with a star like Baron Davis, Davis doesn?t overshadow others the way Iverson does. Allen Iverson has a demanding type of aura that few players posses, it?s somewhat of an All eyes on me type of thing. It?s not a good thing nor is it a bad thing; it?s just something that comes with the territory. Jordan had something similar going on with him as well.
I believe KT will do very good for us again this year, he is great for his size, usually on the wrong end of a mismatch but some how he usually pulls out a double double, Kenny Thomas has always been a good player even back in houston im glad someone started another topic talking about something other then iversons problem, i say we start a Robinson thread or Coleman.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Avery:</div><div class="quote_post"> Jordan had something similar going on with him as well.</div> I definitly agree with you on the fact that AI has that going on for him, but you mentioned how jordan had a similiar thing going on with ihm the way he commanded attention yet pippen, rodman, and grant were all all stars while playing with jordan so there play seemed to be recorgnized. I also agree with you stats never tell the whole story, but diagree that jamal is the better player between the two imo. They have a similiar playing style and both do the same thing I think the only thing that puts jamal over thomas by a little is his size be it not that they would be equally talented players imho. I do hope he makes the all star team this year as the surprise guy, but I do agree with you in the end I dont see him getting there only because AI's talent will over shadow his play for the team. Though I my mind he will have the talent and stats to be a all star this year for the team.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Pure Skillz:</div><div class="quote_post">I definitly agree with you on the fact that AI has that going on for him, but you mentioned how jordan had a similiar thing going on with ihm the way he commanded attention yet pippen, rodman, and grant were all all stars while playing with jordan so there play seemed to be recorgnized.</div> What he is talking about it the overall experience, and not just the all-star games. Everyone is always going to notice the all-star on a team, and the other players get overshadowed but Jordan has a special type of aura, because he was so damn good. With Iverson it's a similiar case, he is good as a player but his personality sets him apart from any other player in the NBA, with that alone he will gain all-star recognition for years to come.
Kenny Thomas is one of the most underated players in the NBA. I mean didn`t the guy have a double-doubles 15 consecutive times. And he has made great improvement on his jumper. If he just works on ballhandling and decisions a little bit more, I`m thinking 2005 all-star.

Doing so tied him up with Charles Barkely for the franchise most consecutive double-doubles. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">What he is talking about it the overall experience, and not just the all-star games. You guys have covered it all,Kenny Thomas is very underated and under sized, but he is still a double double player every game. When AI and Glenn Robinson were out KT lead the team and picked up some of the scoring load,he was also clutch for us in a game versus the Knicks. I think if the coaches look far enough KT could be a potential all star next year,it would be hard now that the East has a lot of good bigmen but I still think KT can possibally make the team.

Also, I base it on word of mouth. It is said that he needs to try much more against agressive taller guys, he is belittled by them, and doesn't try as hard. Of course, they do take up a presence as being the baddest MOFOs out there, but he should try harder IMO. Other than that, and his ball control, he is top notch in my book.
Kenny Thomas I think is comparible to Boozer. Theyre both aggresive undersized PFs. Kenny Thomas will become an all star in 2006 IMO. Kenny Thomas will get his chance to shine. It began this year. Our team is full of young stars just waiting to blossom out and Kenny Thomas is just one of thoses buds.
