Mike Montgomery will need to get used to the road early. They have a 5 game road trip in like the second week of November, the 8th to the 15th. And in March they have a 8 game road trip. The road hurt the Warriors a lot last year. I hope that is an area where the Warriors improve. The competition in November isn't that tough. I think 7-6 is very likely for November. Hopefully no worse than that though.
that schedule looks diffficult. THey don't have any long homestands. Those homestands can really give the team confidence. But there longest is 4 games. Plus as mentioned already the two long road trips they have
I have always like Golden State, hopefully they will do good this year since d-fish joined them team.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting MikeCheng:</div><div class="quote_post">anybody know when we'll be able to purchase tixs to single Warriors games?</div>Welcome! Single tickets probably get offered closer to when the regular season starts I think. I don't know the earliest time you can get those tix though. Check the W's website http://www.nba.com/warriors They'll always try to sell the mini plans and sell out a package of 5 games rather than just one.

The others are a big question mark. You know the one player I admire when it comes to having a great mental game is Kobe Bryant. Plays through pain, fatigue and other outside stress and still manages to bring it.
The schedule for the first month is not bad. We play the Clippers 3 times! No disrespect to them, but it's better than playing San Antonio twice. Some tough games against Utah, Dallas, San Antonio, Memphis(twice), but I think we can easily have a winning record after the first month. It would be great to give this young team some confidence early!
The clippers were pretty bad a while ago but I don't think as much now. They suffered from a lot of injuries last year like we did and the fact they haven't had a real point guard since Andre Miller left. They got a good coach in Mike Dunleavy, they got a good point guard rookie this year (Shaun Livingston), a rookie center last year with promise and they got a 20/10 guy in Elton Brand. Also Eddie House is an Allen Iverson type guy that can take over a game off the bench. Maggette will give you numbers and he's pretty solid as a 2 guard. The problem with the Clippers has always been the owner is such a cheapo and the fact they were getting players that looked good on paper, but couldn't play together as a team. I mean Lamar Odom with Olawakandi with Quentin Richardson and some up and coming young players that are mostly playing for a contract with another team? I mean c'mon. If players know the owner will give them a fair price, they wouldn't be so selfish and just play for stats. The teamwork was just lacking. Sound familar? Everytime we play the clips we are playing ourselves basically. Lot of talent, lack of teamwork and cheap ownership. The clips and warriors have great diehard fans though. How many clipper fans admit to being a clipper fan when they've got the more successful lakers playing in the same building. I'd imagine the city of LA would just rather forget about the clippers, but there they are, some diehard fans sporting clippers jerseys.

I don't think the clippers will be any better than they were last year. They lost more people than they gained, and I doubt Livington will make a big impact his first year, and especially this early. However, I was not trying to say that the Clippers were going to be bad, I just would rather face the Clippers 3 times, than most other western conference team.
The W's finished last year tied with Seattle for 4th in the West. Am I right? That was inspite of all the injuries and the lack of a stable starting 5. This year the W's are bringing back a starting line up, minus Damp maybe, that held their own last year. Speedy, JRich, Dunleavy, Murph, Foyle. At least that's my starting 5 on paper right now, barring any injuries. Then off the bench there's DFish, Uncle Cliffy, Pietrus, Davis, Dickau, and Biedrins. The only questions marks are Dickau and Biedrins. But I think a bench of DFish, Cliffy, Pietrus, and Davis is pretty solid compared to the rest of the league. Starting fast and letting the bench contribute early in the season is a recipe for success. Hopefully Monty finds a good mix of starters and bench to keep the momentum going throughout the game. Last year, you could really see the W's struggle through certain quarters. And I think that was a coaching error. But I'm looking forward to the coming months, first football, then basketball, plus with we have the olympics this year. Its going to be great.
4 games on national tv....thats just f......great! Bet i can't see one on the Dutch paychannel and i cant receive NBA TV. Don't things ever change? Think i'm gonna pre-order the dvd's at pontel.com
The Warriors have a killer schedule in April- I expect all the teams they play (except maybe Seattle and Portland- still a good team) to be in playoff contention. What a way to end the season... the schedulers were tough on the Ws this year. April schedule 1 Fri @ Utah 6:00 pm -- -- 3 Sun Seattle 3:00 pm -- -- 5 Tue Houston 7:30 pm -- -- 6 Wed @ Portland 7:00 pm -- -- 8 Fri Phoenix 7:30 pm -- -- 10 Sun San Antonio 6:00 pm -- NBATV 11 Mon @ Denver 6:00 pm -- -- 13 Wed @ Minnesota 5:00 pm -- -- 15 Fri Portland 7:30 pm -- -- 18 Mon L.A. Lakers 7:30 pm -- -- 20 Wed Utah 7:30 pm --
if speedy is healthy for all 4 clippers games we win...jaric can't keep up w/ him and definatley 6'7 livingston is going to get constantly burned...

This one crazy dude had like every warrior game as an mpeg file with commercials edited out. It was awesome but I lost the files and the server is no more. There's a site for warrior highlights if you want some of those.

That is a very tough month. However, we never know how good a team will be before the season starts. For example, last year's Suns. Going into the season, the Sun's were supposed to be a playoff team, and look what happened to them. This year, they are also a favorite. Damn, Lakers get weaker(and they still are potential playoff contenders)...Suns get stronger. Clippers still have potential. Sacramento is still Sac. Are we in the toughest division or what?
