<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Heat will be one of the NBA's showcase teams this season, evidenced by the makeup of this year's schedule.

Miami's franchise-record 33 nationally-televised games will be highlighted by a Christmas Day matchup against the Lakers in Los Angeles, the first meeting between Shaquille O'Neal and his former team. It's just the second time Miami has played on Christmas Day, with this game set to be shown nationally on ABC.</div>

IT is disgusting what Shaq can do to a franchise..Wade does have some effect on that though, I think it is mainly Shaq.

Wade was here last year and we only had something like 1 or 2 nationally televised games. 33 is absurd, after this season the whole country will become bandwagon Heat fans just like they were with the Lakers.

Thats just a crazy number right there. Thats 40% of their season on TV! Thats like the diffrence between two local stations! What if Shaq gets injured?! Thats a ton of boring games...

I was thinking the same thing. Last year when McGrady was sitting out, there were a bunch of nationally televised Magic games that were totally boring. These nationally televised schedules are also a complete gamble, because Shaq is guaranteed to miss at least 20 games this season, and i'm sure many of the games he miss will fall on days of national games. Also, Dwyane is playing in the Olympics and he already was plagued by injury last season, so something is almost sure to happen with him and it'll make for some boring nationally televised games. The NBA really didn't think this through.

I dont think the heat games will be boring if Shaq is injured..Wade is a very exciting young kid and I could watch hiom play without Shaq..although I hate everyone else on the Heat.

Nationally televised games should be labeled as subject to change... Other than the fans of their respected teams, nobody would really want to see a Lakers, 76ers, Celtics or Nets game without their star on the team.

Man all this because of Shaq,if he is injured there is going ot be a lot of complaining by people who are die hard NBA fans,it isnt really right either because teams like Toronto get below 10 games.

Well to say the truth the Raptors kinda suck.... lol

Even with VC they aren't a very exciting team to watch. And if they don't have VC, then they are like the least exciting team to watch ever... in history

How do you know that? They have a new Coach with a new style of play with an uptempo style. They also have an uptemp player in Rafer Alston who'll be running the show. Carter can be Incredible. And its always fun so see Chris Bosh play.

Ok so I'm sure you've watch all the games that Sam Mitchell has coached with his new style of play and starting lineup

I agree. However, it seems like the NBA doesn't want the Lakers to lose their credibility as a great team, and wants to televise their games when they show that they can win without the Diesel.

OMG...33? Who wants to see Shaq attempt to carry the whole Heat organization on his back, with only Dwyane Wade helping him? In LA, at least he had Kobe, Payton, Malone and Fisher...where there were other guys who could do amazing things worthwhile to watch on television. All I'll be interested to see is Wade...not some guy who receives the ball, drop steps, throws an elbow and dunks the ball over Mark Madsen...what a waste. I'd rather watch Kurt Rambis shoot hook shots.
