<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Although he expected to be traded to the Knicks, Antoine Walker will apparently be traded tomorrow from the Mavs to the Hawks for Jason Terry and Alan Henderson, a league source revealed.

Walker is owed $14.625M in the final year of his contract. Terry, a guard, has $7.5M and $6.6M left over two years, while Henderson, an injury-prone forward, is owed $8.2M for one year </div>

Well yet another trade for the hawks to empty cap space damn they are going to have a bright future, but with this latest move imo it probable wont be in atlanta. The team has been suffering from major money issues do to lack of attendence and the playoff promise gone wrong.

With this move although they have yet another very good player added to the team they are basically the same team they were last year with a few good rookies added. Then add a horrible shooter like walker to the team and that is what they have.

They probable will sell out very few games if they sell out any the people will most likely be going to see the other team. Like if lebron comes to town or tmac etc. I hate to say it, but if they dont make the playoffs this year the team is probable gona be moved to another city do to not having enough money to maintain it.

    Thanks for the info man

I'm hapy thast atl is letting Terry go and not hinderinghis career byt rying to keep him.

my only question now is what type of other moves will the Mavs pull of now that they have terry will thsy till try and get Jason kidd.

Walker will be an ok aquisition to outr team.

i think he could possibly play our small forward position or maybe even back up harrington at the pf since we are in the east.

does anyone know who our point will be , do ya'll think it will be sura.

    lineup
    Sura
    ?
    Walker
    Harrington
    Hopefully dampier

Alot of big names that make the team look better on paper but how will they perform together.

I'm really gald the hawks are finnally trying to make some moves.

    Pure Skillz ....

I can hold it in no longer. I have read a number of your posts and have noticed a consistent grammatical error that I am going to point out. Please do not take offense but it is so striking that it needs to be corrected.

The word you have written as "probable" should be spelled "probably" and the use of the word "do" as you use in in "do to not having enough money" should be spelled "due".

Here's my reply to the same question in the Mavs thread when you asked the same thing.

Well their Lineup currently looks like this, with Bob Sura being a FA.

    PG- ?
    SG- Josh Childress
    SF- Al Harrington
    PF- Antoine Walker
    C- Swift?

There's been talk that Memphis is trying to acquire Curry. So with Curry in Memphis, their would be no need for Swift, unless he's traded via sign and Trade for Curry. There's still alot to be decided, but it's been a good start for Billy Knight

My bad. I know that I have often mispelled words in my posts. I do not have microsoft word check or anything on my computer if I did I would check my spelling before posting something I know I have bad spelling and wont deny that. I even suggested adding a word check to JBB a while back because of this issue. My apoligize and sorry for this most back on topic now.

The Hawks are stacked in the frontcourt now with Walker and Harrington, but the lack of a point guard might make it hard for them to even push 20 wins. The best possible option now would be that they spend big money on Damon Jones to start for them, and bring Boris Diaw along as a full-time point guard. It's funny how people have forgotten about him when the Hawks got Childress and Smith. Diaw has good size to play three positions and showed pretty well as the starting point last season.

Does anyone know what Antoine's reaction to this is? I'd by pretty mad knowing I'm going to one of the worst current teams in the east and maybe even in history of the NBA. Knowing Walker's attitude he is probably upset about and was probably hoping to play somewhere else. I'm really anxious to read he reactions.

Well, there was a Press Conference at 2:30 pm ET today. Don't know if it's still going, but you can listen to it on the Hawks website.

EDIT: Woohoo! I got post #1000 in the Hawks forum.

I recall Walker complaining about being moved around so much. He wanted to stay on a team. Im sure he is probrably not too happy with the move. But, the NBA is a business and it pays his bills.

I think some people aren't sure what the trade is:

    atl gets- walker and dlek
dallas gets- terry, henderson, and a first round drfat pick(the one the hakws got from philly in the glenn robinson trade)

according to the AJC, this is what the lineup would look like if the season started today.
    C- Collier
    F- Walker
    F- Harrington
    G- Childress
    G- Delk

I'd love to see the Hawks line-up like so:

PG - Boris Diaw (Tony Delk)
SG - Josh Childress (Donta Smith)
SF - Antoine Walker (Josh Smith)
    PF - Al Harrington
C - Erick Dampier (or equivalent)

No one under '6"7. That team makes the playoffs

banks you know guys can play out of their original position to fit teams right.

ANd to respond to your that involved answering my earlier post.

I never asked the same q twice man.

The first time i asked about the roster in the mavericks thread was a totally diffrent question from the question i asked in this thread.

I don't think it really matters where Harrington and Walker are, they are both combo forwards. The reason for putting them at PF and SF respectively, is that I would expect Harrington to be doing a lot of work in the post, Walker on the outside with the 3-ball and as point forward.

I don't think he'd care too much. With Al Harrington and himself on the roster, together with some uber-talented youngsters, Atlanta is a legitimate playoff contender (for positions 7 and 8, admittedly) in the wide-open East. Let us not forget what Miami and Milwaukee did last year. If they get anything that resembles a legit center, look out.

also it wasn't like atl. was in dead last last year. if they get a great center they could be a force to reckon with but they won't go far cause their team is too young.

Antoine Walker and Al Harrington are plenty experienced. Childress will can play beyond his years, IMO. Miami and Milwaukee were 'young' too!

yeah but i don't see a rookie comming out of atl like wade did unless childress just starts breaking out. but having jus walke and harrington isn't gonna make them an eastern title contender.
