Good move for the knicks though I must admit I questioned this move greatly until a couple of days ago when I saw his summer league stats and they were impressive in the draft this move dissapointed me because they were drafting a player who put up less that 15 points in college. So how would he ajust to the nba game when so many other former college stars who averaged 20+ points in college had a rough time even getting to double digit scoring in the nba. Though I am still boarder lined on this move because summer league is a totally different thing then the real season frank williams can be first hand proof of that for the knicks. I am a lot more open minded about this signing.
Ariza won't get a lot of PT, unless he has a really strong showing and ends up coming off the bench regularly or even starting. The Knicks have Tim Thomas and Penny at small forward, two experienced veterans who will be hard to beat out for minutes.
I think he will be a big part of the franchise he plays for, I've heard so much about this kid and everything about him seems great . Ariza will pick up a lot of stuff from Penny, H20, JYD, Starbury and the other veterans on the Knicks they can probably groom him into a good all around player if not great. I really like this guy and since being a knicks fan he's one of my favorite players.
This kid is making noise in Charleston. So much that if he keeps it up he will crack the rotation. WOW. Isiah may have found a sleeper in the 2nd Rd.
Ariza was a GREAT pick-up. He has great talent for such a young player, and he DEFINENTLY has MAJOR potential.
