<div class="quote_poster">Quoting CentreDaily.com:</div><div class="quote_post">Robert Horry, who has five championship rings, re-signed with the San Antonio Spurs, according to a broadcast report Tuesday.

Horry told Houston television station KRIV that he's signed a one-year deal with a player's option for the second year, but did not disclose the financial terms. He lives in Houston in the offseason.

If he is officialy re-signed, it was a good move by the Spurs. Horry brings a lot of playoff experience, and the Spurs are very likely to make it to the playoffs. He can contribute off the bench, and take some of the pressure of Tim Duncan. He can also make clutch shots, and has 5 rings which will help the Spurs.

Considering he didn't do as good as expected with the Spurs and the fact that Miami would've made him a starter...oh well. Always a good player to have, on the court or on the bench.

p.s. Sorry bout that stockton I'll be more careful next time.

This is only bad for the Spurs, last 2 seasons when Horry has been on the floor in the closing minutes, team that he has played for has lost. Last year he just took Malik's minutes and didn't do anything big.Horry isn't the clutch player he once was.

Yeah , Ive heard this too and supposedly hes signed for the vet minimum. This is kind of surprising cause Spurs executives told stations here in SA that the Spurs were looking for two big-men and both Willis and Horry were not options...and although unlikely there still is a possibility of signing Malone even after getting Horry.

I dont have that big of a problem with this signing but Im also not thrilled...I was alittle ticked off at Horry for not showing up against the Lakers (purposedly in my opinion)...I felt he still had feeling for the Lakers , but other from that he was allright and thankfully this yr LA wont be a problem. So guess I'll take him he brings alot to the table especially on defense.I still dont think he'll take Malik's minutes though , he doesnt deserve them.

But I did like what he did against Menphis.
Parker and Horry were the ones that help us get to the next round.

Horry still has some juice left in him. He is also a good vet to teach the younger players that the Spurs have. Horry is also still clutch and still has the ability to hit down big shots. HE could've had his talent more used some where else though like in Miami. Horry is a ring follower though and always goes to a team that has the best chance at a ring. His experiance also will provide some help.

Horry is a big body that can give Tim and Rasho some rest. But his best days are over.

I thought he might go to Miami, but his family is in Houston and I think that played a part in his decision to re-sign with the Spurs. I also think the 2nd year player option helped him settle for the vet's minimum.

I remember a blurb from the local paper saying Horry was amazed at what a civilized locker room the Spurs had -- no in-fighting or back-stabbing or ego trips. That may have played a part also.

I look for Malik to take back his minutes from Horry this year.

Good signing presuming he doesn't get too many minutes. Malik can be more important with those minutes.

Also the reduced wages compared to last season would have been attractive to the Spurs compared to what else is on the market.
