If that other stuff happens...ring and 20000 points than hell ya...but if not no because if you dont get a ring and 20000 than you must be dominant not just consistent

I really don't see him getting in there. Like someone said, the whole PJ incident will really hurt those chances. He's a very consistent performer year-to-year, but he has nothing that pops out on his resume.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting mgmib:</div><div class="quote_post">Still up in the air, If Spree wins a ring with the wolves and is an intergral part of the team winning the ring then he has a shot. If he can continue his productivity for several more years that will bolster his chances as the Hall Of Fame (in all sports) tends to favor long productive careers. Right now he is not in but it is a possibility, you can't say for sure because his career is not over.

btw Spree in '99 was a force, easily top tier shooting guard, he and Houston carried the knicks offensively without Ewing. I still wonder what would have happened if we had the Big 'fella healthy.</div>

This is getting off topic but I always wonder what would have happened if the Knicks had originally selected him in the 92' draft (they could have). He prolly wudnt have had those 20ppg seasons, but I also think NY would have won a title.

Remember in 99' when people kept questioning whether NY was better off without Ew? Oops

nothing in the postseason?.. every statistic improves for spree from regular season to the playoffs, he was a significant part of the wolves post season run which finally got them out of the first round last season. There were several games against Denver, Sacramento and LA where he took over the game and led his team in scoring, not to mention his veteran leadership on the floor. Let me remind you he's STILL playing out of position at small forward. And if you didn't see him in 99 with NYC u would definately not have said he did nothing in the postseason.. silly remarks.. Spree was averaging 24.2 points, 6.3 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game before being suspended and he literally sat indoors depressed with no bball for a year.. his game is still on check for what hes been through.. i still consider him a Top ten 2 guard in the league for this season.. ill admit im a tiny bit bias like we all are for our favourite players but come on, honestly.. this guy DOES show up in the big games, especially postseason.

It won't happen. Even putting the choking incident aside, he isn't Hall of Fame material. Only if he somehow starts to average 20+ points a game for three or four seasons and the T-Wolves win a couple championships will he have a shot.

^That would be a miracle having KG and Sam on the team. They'd have a good chance of having the greatest record of all-time if they could have a team with 3 players averaging 20+ points. 73-9 at least and guranteed to win the title. But on the real like most people think and know he won't make the HOF. His best individual season was the year before the PJ incident. 96-97 was a good season for him, Mitch Richmond, and Glen Rice. 24.2 ppg and 6.3 apg. He had some other 20 point seasons and alot of 18 to 19 point seasons. He did average alot of minutes to put those kinda numbers up too.

I think Spree becoming a Hall of Famer would be a long shot, but it could happen. If he stays around for 4 or 5 more years and gets a ring...maybe. I think if he gets 25,000 and starts averaging 18-22 points a game and 5 assists, then probably.

He is all-star caliber, but I just don't know about HOF.
