<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Bucks very close to locking up James Former Pistons guard reminiscent of Porter By CHARLES F. GARDNER cgardner@journalsentinel.com Posted: Aug. 3, 2004 Unrestricted free agent guard Mike James will be introduced as the newest member of the Milwaukee Bucks later this week, once some procedural matters are concluded with the National Basketball Association. Test your skills as an owner and general manager in our fantasy basketball game. The 6-foot-2, 188-pound James might remind Bucks fans of a former NBA point guard with similar size and shooting ability: current Bucks coach Terry Porter. "He talked with Terry, and that was a big thing for Mike," said James' agent, Doug Neustadt. "Mike is very defensive-oriented and can shoot the three, much like Terry did in his career. I think he (James) sees some similarities there." </div> Full Story
Well, I guess he will be a good backup for TJ Ford if he's better, but if not is he fully able to start? As long as he plays hard on defense at least. Hopefully Ford's back though.
Yeah he is a solid off the bench type point guard who can do a lot coming off the bench, especcially for the Bucks.

Why are the Pistons giving up key players? They gave up Corliss Williamson for freakin Derrick Coleman? Now they give up their key bench point guard in Mike James? Now I think they blew their chances of defending their title.
Not quite, Coleman will work great in Brown's offence, he's kinda at home. Him and Brown have a good relationship, but Coleman is a good player, and will be a spark off the bench. Mike James hardly played with the Pistons, bench warmer... i dont think they really need him muich.
Well considering the Bucks lost Damon Jones I think that he is just a replacement for him That move with the 76ers and Pistons was good for both teams they both got what they needed just look at the Pistons Front line Ben Wallace Rasheed Wallace Antonio Mcdyess Derrick Coleman Elden Campbell Thats the best in the league. And now they could use Prince more at sf and bring him along as starting sf who plays about 38 mins per game.

Who was horrible in the playoffs, he's prefect at missing open lay-ups and missing 5 foot hook shots. Pistons didn't give up Mike James, he wanted more money than what Joe Dumars was willing to give, he also wanted a starting spot. No chance he gets that in Detroit. So by your way of thinking, Pistons trading away Corliss and not signing James back means they blew their chances of defending the title? guess you don't know the whole starting 5 of the championship team has stayed togeather. Dice has signed, Carlos Delfino has decided to come over..one of the best young players in europe while keeping guys like Hunter and Ham around. It helps actually using logic.

He was effective in the playoffs so I don't know what you were watching. Check the bright side instead of making up lies about his weaknesses. I didn't know about the money issue regarding Mike James. Besides that, he would of made a solid backup point guard and he's much better than an aging Lindsey Hunter. You also acknowledge that the Pistons have kept Darvin Ham? He's a horrible player. All the negative comments that you said of Corliss actually applies to Ham. What's so good about 'Dice? If this was 1999 'Dice, then no doubt my opinion of the Pistons' hopes would be contrary. Not only have the Pistons themselves reduced their chances, but other teams such as the Timberwolves, Heat, and the Pacers have made sure of that.

He hurt the Pistons way more than he helped the team. He shot under 36% throughout the playoffs, for a guy who plays in the post, thats horrible..really horrible. It's quite laughable for you to say I'm making up lies about Corliss, I have been watching him play for the Pistons for many years, he used to be effective but now he is just slow, turnover prone and bricks lay-ups. He does more halm than good. The bright side about Corliss is he is a great person who is great with the fans and working in the city with charities e.t.c but as far as his basketball game goes, he's on his way down. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I didn't know about the money issue regarding Mike James. As for Ham, you may think he is horrible but thats a sign of you having no clue about the Pistons or their players. He isn't an offensive player, he is a very good defender who has given some of the top SF' trouble thorughout the year. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">All the negative comments that you said of Corliss actually applies to Ham</div> Pistons wouldn't be paying Ham 18 million over 3 years, thats the difference. Who knows if the old Dice returns you could be looking at 11 and 7 in limited time. The guy is not old and can still produce. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Not only have the Pistons themselves reduced their chances, but other teams such as the Timberwolves, Heat, and the Pacers have made sure of that</div> Neither Minny or Indy have done enough to improve their team, the Pistons roster is more improved than either of those teams. The Heat may of got Shaq but I don't consider them contenders for the title. Pistons are still the favourites to make the NBA finals again for the simple reason, the whole starting 5 is back and hasn't been changed. The Pistons bench last year didn't even have alot of firepower in terms of scoring but were great defensively. That hasn't changed this off-season. As I said in my first reply, please use some logic.
