    Hm, who would we get out of New York? Maybe we can get Dampier in some 3-way deal [IMG].

    Not this time. I think this one is accurate. I don't see the deal getting done, but I think Vince really has asked to be traded.

    rumors. Why would u trust a NY newspaper. of course they will say that carter wants to be traded. on the other hand, you can't trust canadian media either. so you are better of not believing everything you hear or read. Personally, i say just ride this one out. we just wait till training camp. if he is traded, then he is traded. If not, then we will still have vinsanity

    I do agree with you. It's the whole fact that this is the first credible source to say he wants to be traded. That's what catches my attention. And the fact that Vince has said he hasn't said he wants to be traded, but obviously he has told his agent.

    Why can't Vince just come out and say, I want to go or I'm not going anywhere.

    yea...although this does seem legit, im still gonna wait for vince to address the toronto media himself.

    a deal to the knicks should be next to impossoble unless another team or two is included. that article says that the deal wouldnt include starbury or even tim thomas [IMG] what do they propose to give us? a handfull of beans and season tickets to msg?

    I hear that DJ. I can't even imagine who the third team would be? I think Carter is a top 10 player in the league. I would say that Carter will be in TO next season. I think if the team can turn things around this year, his opinion may change. Who knows, maybe Carter will play hard this season just to prove his value on the market. Then he will have more influence if he decides he does want out later. The thing that gets me is that even his agent said "The Raptors know where we stand on this". What does that mean. My take is that Vince wants Peddie fired. He's making his stance by saying fire him or I'm leaving. There is no information to back this, it's just my gut feel.

    lets put it this way:

    a) players have agents for a reason...they are there to do all the dirty work , negotiate salaries, contracts, trades etc...I like VC and hope he stays a Raptor for life, however from a professional level, he doesn't owe it to the public to air his dirty laundry,...if he does want a trade, it's his agent and the organization that's responsible...from a personal perspective, i agree that he should let his fans know where his mind is at, after all the reason why T.O has so much admiration for VC is because of not only his talents, but what he brings to the city

    [IMG] according to the report I read, his agent said that they did request the Raptors to look into Trade possiblilities, which leaves the door open for either a trade or that VC stays put...it did not say that he demanded a trade.

    from VC's perspective, i'm pretty sure it's clear that he's leaving an open door when answering the question, and I don't doubt that he loves T.O, but he also wants to look out for his career...in the heat of the moment, he didn't want anything to do with Peddie (and which led to his fallout with the Raptors brass / organization)...and obviously his learning about his new GM / coach, so give him some time to get to know the new organization and then he'll know where he stands...

    as far as reports go, Peddie will have no interaction with the Raptors organization, all management will go through Babcock and his associates.

    So, it's a great comprimise with VC, who we all knows doesn't like Peddie and he can be assured that people with B-ball knowledge is running the organization...

    only time will tell though...

    Quality over Quantity.

    Quality = Vince
    Quantity = Media

    vince has addressed the media.. wen he was in toronto for the charity game he was harassed by the media and to all questions regarding whehter or not he wanted to be traded he never replied with a no or a yes, instead he avoided the question and said things like "if im here im here, if im not then im not". generic stuff like that. thers no doubt that he loves the city of toronto tho.. i think he has in fact requested (not demanded) a trade, and just doesnt want to admit it.. but if thats the case i can respect that.. at least he isnt trying to skip town like tmac did a few yrs ago.. it shows he feels like he owes this team and city something

    isnt it strange that the toronto media says he wants to stay but the new york media says that he wants to come to new york [IMG]. me personally dont care anymore because i live 30 min away for msg so if he does get traded then i can see him play against a team i wanna c him play instead of waiting to see him come to msg/continental airlines but on the other hand toronto is my fav. team. and about the reports it says something about tim thomas and bobcock said he wont trade him unless he gets a great player in return so if something with ny is gunna happen it would have to b with marbury and i think thomas said he isnt gunna trade marbury

    Ya Thomas said that Marbury isn't going to be traded, but the article mentions another team getting involved to make a deal possible. I can't imagine what other team would get involved. I don't think anybody wants to give up big talent for some scrubs from NY.

    I had a feeling that when Crawford signs with the Knicks, they'd be gunning after Carter next. Even though Isiah Thomas said he won't trade Marbury, I think he's still offering him to the Raps. Jamal Crawford is capable of playing the point so now Marbury is a little more expendable and can be used as bait if that means obtaining VC. If the Knicks do make a trade, they'd have a pretty darn good starting line-up that includes Crawford, Carter, Thomas and Dampier(if things work out for the Knicks).

    I think they're just fine with Marbury and Crawford starting but I'm pretty sure they're considering their options. But would we trade Carter for Marbury?

    ^^ Hmm... that's possible. It were me, I wouldn't even think of trading Vince for Marbury.

    Even if Vince wants to be traded, it does not mean we have to trade him. His value is at an all-time low for him, and if we're going to trade him, we should do it after next season. His value should be higher then, and therefore we could get more for what we would get now. If his value gets lower, then oh well, we gave it a chance.

    The article seems preddy legit but I still want to hear the words coming out of vinces mouth ,and as of a trade with ny I wouldn't be willing to give vince up for anyone on that team even starbury.

    if, IF Vince Carter wants to be traded, we need someone or some players that WANT to be in Toronto. If we got Starbury, after his contract expires he'll just leave like T-Mac did.

    Who knows whats going on with VC,first I am hearing he wants to stay in Toronto the next week its a rumor he wants to be traded to New York!If it is coming from his agents mouth then I bealive its true, any other 'very close sources' that say he wants a trade I wouldnt bealive.

    To bad you cant do a sign trade and trade, or maybe the Raptors could get JC in return for VC now really all they can get is maybe Damp if they are lucky.

    Plus the Raptors said they wouldnt trade VC unless they got a similar star player in return,a player that could fill seats like VC did so lets see how the KNicks come up with that type of player.
