lol the poeple in the knicks chat say they wouldnt trade marbury and that they want a player not a entertaner and the ppl in the raptors forums say they would rather have carter
Source says Vince wants to stay? I was just watching Sportsnet and Marty York says that he's confident that VC wants to remain a raptor. Apparently he's had a chat with one of Vince's closest friend (didn't say who but he said that VC's closer to him then his own brother) and he said that ever since Vince had the meeting with Babcock and Mitchell, he has no plans on leaving the team. Babcock made it clear to Vince that Peddie will be out of basketball operations with the team and the source said that he has had no interest in leaving ever since. Marty York said that he spoke with the guy recently so it'd be odd if Carter had a change of heart in such little time. Personally, I don't know who to believe but I do think that he's just keeping his options open right now. He doesn't mind if he stays or gets traded.
hmmm gee i don't see what so bad with 22 5 5, and the 5 asists is kinda misleading too, he would of avged alot more, if people would just knock down open shots. and the 22 points came off hard contested drives/jumpshots. If KO had a good offensive plays and got Carter easier looks and free layups once in a while he would avg alot more. Anyways, Carter for Marbury? I wouldn't do it if I were the GM. Just because we had already gotten skip and really would like to see him start. Also, it would be too much money spent on a player coming off the bench. In addition, like someone had said, Marbury would just leave after his contract expires. Also, Raptors would lose alot of money since Marbury isn't a guy who can fill seats like Carter does.
lol I know it's off-topic but Alston isn't too much money even if he comes off the bench, not saying he will, because that trade will never happen and VC is staying in T-dot, but when New York gets Jamaal Crawford they're gonna have Allan Houston coming off the bench! A $100 million dollar player coming off the bench! It really speaks of what Isiah Thomas has created in the Big Apple: Another New York Yankees.
I wouldn't mind Starbury in TO, or is it possible that Knicks may deal Crawford after aquiring him for VC etc etc. , obviously Knicks need to add more to the trade
Vince would get eaten alive by the New York media and fans if he was a Knick. It's interesting that his agent waited until today to announce the trade demand. The deadline for renewing season seats was Tuesday...I fell for it and renewed. Maybe we could get Peja (requested trade today) from Sac for Vince....
Is it me or is all of this BS always coming originally from a New York source or story. It would be a bad move on his part to say he wants to stay and then have his agent ask for a trade a couple days later. It just doesn't make sense. But then again, I really can't be surprised that Carter could act like this.
Peja For VC??? Two Great PLayers Wanting Trades?? Two Great Players frustrated with their situations, two great players who are great players? Could this possibly go dowN???? I wanna know what u guys think. i would do the trade if the opportunity arrived! Peja was a MVP candidate before webber got better, and he made the kings invincible in the early part of the season to xmas! i think this would be a decent and great trade!!! I would love for this 2 happen! i really dont care if vince stays or goes, just lemme hear what u guys think! found the report on tsn today about hi wanting out of sactown. Peja Trade

Peja Trade</div> the trade presents a conundrum in matching peja's contract with other kings players to get at the number vince is going to make next year. but to be perfectly honest, i don't see peja fitting in well with mitchell's emphasis on high tempo. i think peja might be a dallas maverick, the maverick's have been stockpiling assets for the superstar race; j.kidd, vince and now peja. or maybe the lakers for lamar odom.
This wouldnt be a good trade only because I think the Kings could get more for Peja and the raps could get more for for VC. Any trade but this.
in simple player to player terms, i think the trade isn't bad for the raps. pedja has really proven his quality last year as the go to guy (ignoring the playoffs upset by the arrival of cwebb). meanwhile vc seems injury prone lately and just simply not as good as he was. however, i am not sure how either one would fit into the other teams offensive plans.
so this goes in the rumor blurb: my friend who was working security at the acc the day of the charity game told me that vince's wife was lashing out in angry outbursts and had to be restrained by vince and his entourage (boys like shammond williams). i should be meeting up with the friend tomorrow and only got scattered details of the story, i'll try and post a more comprehensive story next evening.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting thedude9990:</div><div class="quote_post">how bout a 3 way trade vince goes to nj kidd goes to sac and peja goes to toronto</div> there's now way that makes sense - the nets would need a pg to replace kidd - the kings wouldn't need another pg on top of bibby and bjax who already make a very good combo
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Banks:</div><div class="quote_post">Even if Vince wants to be traded, it does not mean we have to trade him. His value is at an all-time low for him, and if we're going to trade him, we should do it after next season. His value should be higher then, and therefore we could get more for what we would get now. If his value gets lower, then oh well, we gave it a chance.</div> If he really doesn't want to be here, then I say get rid of him. If Vince is unhappy, he's the kind of guy that will sit there and pout and have his game suffer. We've all seen him sit on the bench with that face and the towel over his head when things aren't going well. I think this is a credible source, seeing that this is coming from his own agent and I don't doubt that Vince has asked for the Raps to look into trades. I'm just really sick of this whole he said this crap. At the very least, Vince owes it to his fans to make it clear what his intentions are. This reminds me of when T-Mac didn't say anything about wanting to leave and then one day he just packed up and left. I'm just sick of all this, either Vince says that he wants to stay or he wants to leave. If it's the latter, the Raps should just trade him already. I wouldn't be able to take all this trade stuff for an entire season.
If Vince pouts and makes his game suffer, no team is going to want him if they know what an ass he can be. If he stays he'll have to play at a high level if he wants to be traded. As CourtVision said, all these reports seem to be coming out of New York. There isn't even any proof that Carter said he wants to be traded. All he said is that "they know where we stand." There's no evidence. Until Carter says he wants to be traded with his own mouth these reports don't stand. Besides, what are we going to get in return for him? Isaiah has said Marbury and Thomas are untouchables in any Carter deal. What does he think he can get Vince for 3 draft picks? Regarding Peja, Vince is a much better player and more valuable than him. Peja only functions well when he isn't being tightly guarded. You put a good perimeter defender on him and he's off his game. He isn't a leader on the court and he doesn't make plays. He's a pure shooter. We'd be much better off with Vince.
The problem with keeping a player that doesn't wan't to be here, is we end up dealing him away because he doesn't care anymore. The truth is that Vince doesn't want to be here. Babcock has even said, "I would expect Vince to act like a professional". That pretty much means, yes I know you want a trade, but I'm not trading you right now. We all know how things went with Antonio Davis last year. He showed up to camp. He worked hard, but his heart wasn't in it. That could be the way it works for Vince this year.
