Pissed off doesn't even begin to describe my mood.

The whole point in our draft was to build upon what we had. And that included Crawford. Thats what made the Phoenix trade good for us. Thats why Gordon was a smart pick for us.

Instead, Gordon for Crawford was a wash. In essence, we then traded next years first rounder and spent this years first rounder on Luol Deng. Here's hoping he proves to be a good rookie!

We need to build. Not subtract and replace. A Crawford/Gordon/Hinrich backcourt trio would have been young, talented, and exciting. Instead, despite the fallacies in Crawford's game, we dealt him for garbage. Useless garbage. I am willing to wager Gordon won't be as good as Crawford was last year. Meaning, we just took another step back.

    Congrats to us.

Curry is overweight. Crawford is traded for peanuts. Dikembe looks like he is two feet from the grave. We lost our first option on offense.

We are going to be worse next year.

On the bright side, Chandler has been working out and showing dedication.

    lifes tough...get a helmet

No kidding..but Crawford was worth more than what they got, I cant believe they didnt push for Mike Sweetney, Othella Harrington, or anyone like that...Dikembe will be uselss to the Bulls he wont produce...I agree with everything you said.

^They got Harrington, Mutombo, Trybanski, and Williams.

What the hell are you doing Paxson?

You didn't even OFFER the MLE to Stephen Jackson. We STILL dont have an experienced wing with TALENT. AM I MISSING SOMETHING HERE? THE ONLY POSITION THAT I'D SAY WE ARE SET AT IS PG! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?!?!

We are stuck in yet another lottery season.

They wanted to keep him to use in the Mohammed, Harrington- Dampier S&T deal.

Which leads me to believe Dampier is now not going to be a Knick.

    [IMG] Ha Ha, so true.

I'm still not understanding the point of this trade, but Vintage said it best.

What were you guys thinking? Not only do you get Dikembe, you also get his massive contract. Great offseason thus far. [IMG]

He (Damp) has said he would sign for the MLE for one year.

Btw- mutombo is about 55 years old.

The Bulls don't want those players that they acquired, they just want their expiring contracts. After this year, all four of those players will be gone. This deal was strictly about money. They wanted to get rid of Jerome's contract and get 4 expiring contracts in return.

Man I hated that they traded Jerome Williams. I didnt mind losing crawford. He shot to many bad shots and a bad percentage. With Gordan coming in he should fill the void as well as hopefully jay williams coming back mid season.

Williams is one of my favorite players and had great finishes. He was a good player for the team and I hated losing him. His minutes got cut alot when he came to chicago though. Hopefully he does well in new york.

Anyway overall they got mutombo which is good a expring contract. Not so crazy about norris. We will have to see how this works out. I think it will be better for the team.

Well I was talking to Vintage who was upset that you guys were getting bums like Mutombo and explaining that it deosn't matter anyways because he's not going to be there for very long.

I thought that was obvious but apparently not [IMG]

well, as much as i dislike this move, i also disliked the drafting of kirk hinrich and the draft of gordon and deng, but after seeing hinrich play last year and the rookies this summer, i am wrong. all the moves have been good from paxson, so i don't see why this won't be either. he knows what he's doing.

This trade does suck, it is quite true. But, Chicago got what they wanted. They didn't want any superstar, they wanted players with an expiring contract whom they can rid themselves of at the end of the year. They were looking to get cap space for next years offseason, and they did that. I think they could have done better, but, not with what they wanted. The only way they could've done anything good is if they didn't care about contract length. But, considering what they were looking to do, this wasn't terrible. You guys may hate it right now, but, when they have a lot more money than most teams next offseason, you won't hate it as much I think. They're going to have money to go after a big name guy come the next offseason.

Uh oh, I have heard this before. Let's be realistic, no superstar wants to play for the Bulls.

They may not want to come here now, but it's possible. Superstars are greedy, and if paid enough, a superstar could land anywhere. Never say never. They may not want to play there now, but, it's always possible.

Now, all you so-called Bulls-fans forget someone... Jay Williams... Isn't he still a Bull? I always thaught he was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than Crawford... Look at the 2002-03 stats... Williams did better than Jamal and he was even a Rookie... The only bad thing that happened for Chicago was the losing of Jerome Williams... But than again you have Chandler to fill up that void... What's so bad on the trade? Next off-season you can throw money to every freaking free agent... Isn't that great?

Actually, his contract expires, we're paying him 4.5 mil then he's gonna walk or retire.

    Bulls Salary Situation

Im in a vast minority, i know this, but IMO this trade is not that bad. Crawford rejected 39 million over 6 years, and he is never proven himself worthy of anything more than that. Yeah, he lead us in scoring....Every other game. He's too inconsistent if we want to return to winning ways. And anyways, we drafted Crawford's replacement with the 3rd pick. We have a potential ROY in our hands. In this trade, not only do we get cap flexibility, we get veterans and a young player with potential in Frank Williams, who i think will make the roster over Pargo and Duhon. Frank Williams has talent, but has never been given the chance to show it, and here in Chicago, expect to see him get 15-20 minutes a game, he'll give us scoring and he'll distribute the ball.
