I agree with ObieCent here on this one. While Crawford was a great player, he was too inconsistant and took way too many bad shots. I feel that both Gordan and Deng will be just as good Crawford. I do not see the playoffs next year, but with a full season for Skiles to get the team to buy into his system and a (hopefully) more dedicated Chandler, we will improve upon next year. And to be honest that is all I really ask for right now. Plus, with the expiring contracts that we are getting in return for Crawford, we will hopefully be able to land a big free agent next year. I personally will rate this offseason as above average for the Bulls.

I thought that was obvious but apparently not [IMG]</div>

And Knick Analyist was correct.....it is obvious. Of course it was about collecting expiring contracts. Even an idiot who just watches ESPN can figure that one out.

What my point was....why in god's green earth are we doing it? For cap room? For whom? Lets look at whom we have struck out with in the past...

    Antonio Davis(thank god)
    Tracy McGrady
    Eddie Jones
    Tim Thomas

We offered them the max before, and in turn, got spurned. We ended up with Eddie Robinson instead.

So why bother collecting cap room? To extend Curry and Chandler's contracts? Puh-lease. They haven't played anything resembling good enough basketball to bother extending for the money that someone else will undoubetdly offer them.

And after all of this, despite Crawford's many fallacies, we lose our number one option on offense, thus having to rely on a rookie, or an overweight, underacheiving center.

Now, this trade sucks, and isn't that obvious?

No. Crawford wasn't a great player.
    Yes. He was inconsistent.
    Yes. He took bad shots.

But the fact remains, HE IS OUR ONLY ESTABLISHED SCORER. HOW THE HELL DO WE REPLACE THAT?!?!

And don't even attempt to have the gall to name Chandler, Curry, or Hinrich.

Hinrich isn't a scorer. Chandler's offensive repetoire is offensive. Curry cannot put the fried chicken down to work out this offseason, IN HIS CONTRACT YEAR. He isn't oozing with potential....he is oozing with fried chicken. He got winded last season after a few times up and down the court.

So we are down to Gordon. Asking a rookie to carry a team is not a recipe for success. LeBron had Ilgauskas and Boozer. Melo had Miller, Barry, and Nene. Wade had Odom, Jones, and Butler. The point being, even they had help to shoulder the load.

Gordon will have nowhere near that caliber of health.

So yes.....we are further off than we started the offseason with.

How one rates this season as above average baffles me to the highest degree.

I agree with Vintage this was a bad trade, we lost our 1st scoring option. Who do we have thats a proven scorer on our team?? Pargo sounds the best, we havent seen Gordon play, Chandler is injury proned, Curry cant drop the fried chicken as Vintage would say and we have Hinrich who is a play maker not a scorer. I'd hate to be left with Pargo as our only major scoring option. I hate this trade, unless next offseason we end up picking up someone big until then I hate this trade.

You forget to mention one thing about the free agents we did not get. John Paxson is now our GM not Jerry Krause. I feel that FAs shyed (sp) away from Chicago beacuse of Krause, and the fact that he ran Jordan the best player ever out of town and tore apart a dynasty. Also, you are looking at the effects of this trade will have on next year. Even with Crawford on the team I felt that we would not make the playoffs, we were two years away. So why not clear up some cap space for next year's offseason, and at the same time give rookies like Deng and Gordon a lot of experience. Who knows, we might make the playoffs, but most likely not. Then the next offseason we make our lottery pick and pick up a big FA. You can't go from a 23 win team to a contender overnight. It takes time and I feel the Bulls are taking steps in the right direction.
