Fact, but it will be minor, like signing leon smith, damien wilkins, david young, sesay etc. There really isn't much out there to use our mle on except for restricted free agents(miles, swift...), an offer of the mle will most likely be matched by those teams. They will probably sign someone to an offer sheet as a pr move. I could see a trade going down but wally walker always seems to dissapoint in the offseason. If a trade goes down it will happen at the deadline. F/F Danny Fortson will be a starter on opening day.
Fiction. I think Collison will get that PF spot in opening night. F/F Now if Barry is gone, Sonics struggle to find an off-court/on-court leader and that influences our run for the play-off spot.
Fact: I love AD and I know Ray can lead if he wants, but down the stretch we will miss Brent's influence enormously. Fact or fiction? Danny Fortson will spend more time at center than Jerome James.
Fact, Jerome James can never seem to stay on the court more than five minutes without fouling out, and i can't see Vitaly playing more than 25 minutes. Thats going to leave plenty of time for Fortson at C and I also see us playing alot of small ball and he and collison could play C when we do that. F/F Antoinio Daniels will have another career year this season
Fact: If last year was a career for Daniels then I don't think he'll have a hard time matching his numbers. Fact or Fiction: The Sonics will have two representatives in the All Star game.
Fiction: Our two best chances play the same position, and the West is too forward packed to accomodate Lewis. Unless you count Collison in the Rookie Games. Fact or fiction? Ansu Sesay will be re-signed at the last minute.
Fiction. Damien Wilkins will take his roster spot. Fact or fiction? The current nucleus of young Sonics players is enough to build around.

Fact. If we can keep Rashard Lewis, Flip Murray, Luke Ridnour, Nick Collison and Robert Swift and they stay injury free, it will be the next golden generation. Fact or fiction? We will keep the aforementioned five players, long-term.
Fact: Ridnour, Swift and Collison are here for the long haul. management seem to have faith in Lewis over Vlad, and I have a sneaking suspicion that Flip is going to be here for a while (I hope, anyway). Fact or fiction? These five playerswill deliver a contender and possibly a championship.

Well I think Supersonic was reffering to them being a contender in the future, not this season cause obviosly we aren't at this point in time. Anyways Fiction, Andre Emmet is good college player he may be a good backup but I doubt it, he lacks the ballhandling and outside shot to be competitive a the sg spot in the NBA. F/F Vlad Rad will get less than 20 mpg.
Fiction: This is a contract year (albeit restricted) for Vlad, so if we want to keep him (or trade him) we are going to have to find minutes for him. Fact or Fiction: Seattle needs to overspend in order to get quality free agents.

Actually this was the first fact or fiction thread, credit to NEfool for starting it in the team forums though Fact, for now atleast, who would want to come to a team that isn't going to win any time soon unless they get paid more? If we ever become a winning team I don't think having to overpay will be a problem. F/F The Sonics will finish last in the division.
Fiction. I think you'll see a different Sonics outfit with Collison and Fortson in the line-up. Not saying we'll be world beaters, be we are far more balanced than last year. All that is left to do is to sort out the log-jams. Best case scenario we contend for the playoffs... (Also, on the one before last Shiek, I think the NBA is at a point now, where if you put money on the table, it doesn't matter where you are. We'll have a maximum offer to extend if all things remain equal, I'd hope we use it on the upcoming FA bonanza) Fact or fiction? One of the starters at the swing positions (you know who) will lose their starting position and/or get traded to make room for the player behind them...
Fact. The Sonics will have no choice with the current logjam about to overflow. Fact or fiction? Ronald "Flip" Murray starting at shooting guard for a whole season would come close to impact of Ray Allen.
Fiction: Ray's a seasoned professional, and knows how to pace himself over a whole season. Flip wouldn't be able to put in an All-Star season first up (would probably burn out), but could certainly develop into an impact player of the level of Ray, IMO, in a couple of seasons. Fact or fiction? Being a contract year, Jerome James will suddenly start putting up reasonable numbers and earn a contract elsewhere.
Fact, the knack on him is that he is lazy. So in him working harder for a new contract you are going to see an increase in numbers. Maybe something like 7 and 5 if we are lucking. Fiction: I think they will use part of the exception to get a marginal restricted free agent (I'm hoping Bob Sura) but I don't think that there are any free agents that we could legitimately get that are worth the mle. Fact or Fiction: The Sonics (or Nate McMillian's) biggest rival is the Utah Jazz.
