<div class="quote_poster">Quoting wtwalker77:</div><div class="quote_post">I believe its 43.5 mil this year (though I'm too lazy to look it up right now), and there probably won't be a luxury tax line this year, but if there was, it would be about 53 million.

Of course that's irrelevant if we're just talking about Foyle, since the team has his Bird rights by virtue of him being on the team for more than 3 years.

(I know you know that custodian, I'm just explaining it for anyone else reading this who is a cap novice.)</div>

    Awesome thanks Walk.

But what's the story now, did we sign him for 30mil/5 years and a 6th year team option or not?

That's the 12.6 million dollar question.

The only thing the media agrees on is that it's a five year contract with a team option for a sixth year.

What no one seems to know is whether the contract was for 40.6 mil guaranteed over 5 years with a team option for a sixth year at about 10 mil or a 30 mil contract over five years with a team option for the sixth year.

Just about everything inbetween those two extremes has been reported at one time or another.

The latest from Marc Stein is that it's a 5 year/30 mil deal with a team option, but I'll believe it when I hear Mullin say that.

That's true, but tell me another player on the Warriors whose basic contract terms you don't know.

You know I wasn't even aware that Popeye Jones had a team exercised option on his contract. Might as well keep him if he's an expiring contract. He'll be useful at deadline and useful now because he's a charismatic lockeroom leader type of guy.

If that were the case, he would have been traded last year at the deadline. I say the Warriors are not going to pick up his team option...
