According to a handful of sources, Ray Allen of the Seattle SuperSonics is letting it be known he would welcome a trade to T.O. if the teams can work out some sort of deal. "He's interested in coming," said one source close to Allen. "He thinks it'd be the right spot for him." </div>Full Story
I wouldn't be adverse to taking Carter. At the very least, he's going to get people talking about the franchise. If he goes down, we have Flip. Win/win situation, IMO.
I don't think Vince wants to come to Seattle, but if he could stay healthy it wouldn't be a bad trade. I have always thought that VC needs a change of scenery and he would perhaps get back to his best, I wouldn't be opposed to that sort of trade.
If Ray doesn't want to stay than you have to entertain all options. I don't think that Vince is a great fit, but there are a lot worse scenarios. Vince is injury prone and is a bit of a whiner himself. He also commands the ball more than Ray Allen does and he would definitely hinder some of the progress of our younger players. That being said he still is probably one of the ten best players in the world. I'm guessing that a backcourt of Flip and Vince could compete w/ any other backcourt in the NBA.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Casual:</div><div class="quote_post">I'd rather not be stuck with Vince's contract for another four years.</div> I dont really care about his contract i think he would be entertaining for the fans my only concern is that he doesnt get injured anymore but it could happen to anyone at any time just look at Malone the guy had never been injured in his 20 year career with the jazz he goes to the lakers and gets injured i just dont want something like that to happen to Carter if he makes it to the SOnics I mean he is half man half amazing He did dunk over Weis jumping over him in Sydney
^ His contract is a big issue, like it or not. In those four years he has remaining (I'll trust you on that), James and Potapenko come off the books, Collison, Swift and Ridnour will come out or be coming out of their rookie deals, while Flip and Radmanovic will both be out of contract. If you take on a contract like Vince's, you better be darn confident he will stay fit and produce.
The only thing that bothers me about this is if VC would stay healthy. Its not worth paying a guy that much just for his star power. He would need to stay injury free and produce the same type of numbers. I think he can do the latter.
Well vince played 73 games last year but his health is still a concern. If Ray doesn't want to stay here than we have two choices let ray walk after the season or trade him for a star with a longer contract(vince). I personally would do the first but am not against a vince for ray deal. One question, how is Vince's defense?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Xman:</div><div class="quote_post">One question, how is Vince's defense?</div> not good at all but not any worse the Ray's
I'd say Vince still has a lot left in him. If people had watched his highlights this year they'd be impressed.. too bad it wasnt air'd in the US. I find this years highlights he's done is more impressive than his previous years. Half of them were shots to win the game at the end.
