About to play in his sophomore year in the NBA, Willie Green showed us last season that he can be a promising player in the future. Averaging just about 14 minutes per game, he posted about 7 PPG, 1 RPG, and 1 APG for his rookie season. Green mainly blossomed mid-way through the season while coming off the bench, 7 PPG is not that bad for a 2nd Round-Pick (41st Overall). Seeing as the Sixers already has a Sixth Man in Aaron Mckie and an offensive juggernaut like Allen Iverson, 7 PPG is pretty decent. But now, that he going to take a big leap from the bench to the starting line-up, there is going to be some pressure on him. But seeing as the Sixers will now play more of a transition game, his athletic ability should do him so good. He?s young and could run up and down the floor quite possible better than anyone on this team. And the thing that I really like about him is offensive game. Green is a great scorer, he could put points on the board in a bunch, and once he starts going he will score non-stop. However, like most rookies or should I say players that?s on the horizon, they try to do too much. Green main problem is over dribbling. He would over dribble at times which is pretty much over-exhausting himself and the defender would just apply more pressure on him. (Seeing as that he?s isn?t going any where with the fancy dribbling) And from there the defender would just swipe the ball away from him, or he would just throw a sloppy passes. But with that being said, what type of season do you think Willie Green will have? Stat Line PPG- 10.8 APG- 2.5 RPG- 3.4 FG%- 43% FT%- 74%
Green will have a very good year next year and be one of the top runners for most improved player of the year. He had a injury last season that kept him out a while as well as limited playing time until the end of the year he didnt get a lot of shots to show what he could do, but when he got the shot he did well. Well enough for the team to move him into the starting lineup he has a very good jumper to his game and can hit clutch shots as well as drive the ball very well. He is a very talented player and will give the team a huge spark next year barring a Glenn Robinson trade that will give us roll players and not a super star he may be top 2 or 3 in the team in scoring. PPG 14.2 RPG 4.8 APG 4.4 around those numbers.
