I read on realgm.com that he is probably coming off the bench. Thomas went to hell to get him and he signed a huge contract, all for coming off the bench?
If he comes off the bench, there was no point in getting him. He should be starting and Allan Houston should be sitting the bench. Houston is past his prime and not as good as Jamal is now. Jamal will be able to give them a lot of athleticism and quickness in the backcourt, Houston only really gives them a jump shooter. I think Jamal should be the starter down there and Houston goes to the bench.
JC starting over houston shouldn't even be a problem to begin with. JC is the current and future, houston is the past.
I really don't think the Knicks will sit Houston beings that he is the vet that is still capable of having an all-star year. He isn't as old as people think he is and can put up good numbers. I think JC will definitely come of the bench.
They can go small and start Houston at the 3, Crawford at the 2, and Marbury runnin the show...but I dont think that will happen..I think Houston should come off of the bench, I dont think Crawford will accept sitting on the bench to well..
this will be a disaster IMO with marbury. he is not a winner, he will never lead a team deep into the postseason. he will want to put up several shots, but JC is the guy to do that. houston is capable of having an all-star year? JC is an all-star lock for several years to come.
Crawford isnt a lock with all the guards in the east... Paul Pierce, Allen Iverson, Jason Kidd, Steve Francis, Gilbert Arenas (not a lock but better than Crawford), and Marbury...
I know every one is jumping on JC's jock when he is no where near an all star or one of the top 5 guards in the east. AI, JKidd, Pierce, Arenas, Wade, Marbury, Francis, Redd, Billups, Hamilton, Lebron, and then maybe JC.
Crawford will come off the bench next year, and he will be fine with it because he knows Houston only has one or two more years of logging more than 25-30 minutes a game and after that he is the future of the knicks at shooting guard with Houston coming off the bench. He will also get a decent amount of minutes next year backing Marbury off the bench as well as Houston. Isiah see's Marbury, Houston, and Crawford as a dynamic three guard rotation like the bad boy's had with Thomas, Dumars, and Vinnie "microwave" Johnson.
when does Houston's contract expire? Regardless of who comes off the bench its big money....both Houston and Crawford have big contracts...Houston's just gonna get posted up by bigger guys at the 3...hes barely 200 lbs!

Maybe if they go small ball with Marbury, Crawford, and Houston but it will not happen often that houston is guarding an offensive minded three.

not saying he is...but hes better then crawford, and certainly one of the top guards in the east. technically he's a forward anyways

He's a good competitor and is what the Knicks need at the point guard position. JC will start at shooting guard, I guarantee you that. Allan Houston will get benched or injured.

He claimed to have "lead" the T'wolves to the playoffs, but it was all KG, the T'wolves did the same (6 first rounds playoff exits before this last year) without him. The Nets went to the finals the year after they traded Steph and jot Kidd, Phoenix got nowhere even though they have talent, and the Knicks will never go anywhere with Steph as their piont, simple reason? He is a shooter first and rarely makes his teammates around him better. his "D" is still sad, while they raved about the difference Kidd made his first years in Jersey playing "D," there was an undertone about how Marbury didn't. He's all about himself and is never going anywhere becasue h's too selfish.

And how is Marbury "selfish" and a shoot first point guard? The guy led the league in assists! Oh and I hate when people bring up New Jersey, the year before Marbury was traded the Nets had a completely different roster than when Kidd came. Martin was injured for the year, Kittles was injured, Jefferson and Collins were not yet drafted, it was not the same team that Kidd had. Marbury is the second best point guard in the league and is excellent at running a team, the knicks will be just fine.
I think Houston should be coming off the bench. And Marbury should be at the 1, and Crawford at the 2.
Crawford should start. Houston is at his prime, and Crawford is better than the current Houston. Allan Houston wouldn't be a bad 6th man... <div class="quote_poster">Quoting dj_premium_plus:</div><div class="quote_post">and someone named vince carter who usually leads all vote getters in asg votes.</div> He's listed as a F though, when voting. Even though he's listed as a F and guards the SF's, he plays like a SG by taking shots from places where he cant be hurt.....Though I do agree that he is among the best East Guards, tied for first IMO with Pierce.
