Fiction. Sam's the man in the coacing spot, but he has very little experience even as an assistant. He'll have a tough time beating the likes of Jerry Sloan, Hubie Brown, Greg Popovich and even Rudy Tomjanovich. He'll learn as he goes but he'll do much better than the inflexible O'Neill (sp?). F/F: VC and the Raps win most of our games in season serie against the prodigal visitors (ie. TMac and the Rockets, Lenny Wilkens and the Knicks, AD and the Bulls, etc.)
Fact They can beat Houston most likely....they beat em last year even with thier padded roster, this year they only have yao and tmac and no bench depth.... i expect 2 victories cause VC is always motivated and plays great when facing tmac... The knicks. they can beat the knicks but it depends on the health of both teams. I think they will have trouble with more of the powerhouses of the east and west. F/F Raps will make it past the 1st round in the playoffs and perhaps the 2nd...
Fact: If the raps make it to be the playoffs I think they'll face a team in their division, and they can beat any team in the Atlantic IMO. Fact or Fiction: Our defense will be as a good as last years under Mitchells new system.
Fact- i dont think its a question, bosh has experience, jalens good, marshall, i think we have a fine defense Fact or Fiction: The raptors must finish week 1 of the regular season with a winning record, or we will miss the playoffs
Fiction, don't really need to explain that Fact or Fiction: Araujo fouls out more than 3 times this year
False. There are 82 games. If they can do relatively well (ie. at about .500) in the first week, it's a bonus and it builds confidence. But the season is long and teams jostle for position week in and week out. The Raps have to have come out strong coming into the All Star break and after the All Star break. That'll make it easier for them to reach the playoffs. F/F: Haffa gets a suspension or two after heated altercations in some games.
Fiction: It won't be as bad as it was a couple seasons ago, but definitely not as good as last year's. KO has left his mark on our core players, but I think they'll be too focussed on working on their offence. Fact or Fiction: Robert Archibald, greatest centre in the world, plays at least 30 games averaging 5 minutes.
...What? From my interpretation, fiction, Carter is injury-prone. He gets banged up pretty bad a lot of times when he drives, and he isn't exactly the model basketball warrior. Fact or Fiction: Robert Archibald, the greatest centre in the world, will play at least 30 games averaging 5 minutes per.
Fiction, I don't think we'll even resign him. It's not worth it, period. F/F: Alvin Williams will be injured for half the season and Roger Mason Jr. will develop as a PG like he showed in the summer league.
Fact: Although I dont think it'll be half the year.. we're going to see a lot of Roger Mason Jr. at the point off the bench this year. Fact of fiction: We will have atleast 5 players that average over 10PPG this year? (Carter, Rose, Bosh, Marshall, Mo Pete)
Fiction: Although I think Skip's gona average at least 10 instead of Mo Pete Fact or Fiction: Matt Bonner will be on the roster next season but will see the end of the bench for most of it, getting garbage minutes in blowout games and generally not impressing in play.
Fiction: Matt Bonner got a lot stronger after a year of playing in European league and for sure, he can rebound and we'll just have to see about his scoring. It's always good to have a guy that can score inside and outside and Bonner is one of them. P.S.: I think it was on page 2 that I mentioned Carter winning a dunk contest title and someone said it's only for players with under 3 years of experience. Well, that was the case last year and if the NBA pulls out the same crap this year it's better if they close the contest for good because it's always the same player every time and it's always the same dunks.. like J.Rich pulling out the between the legs for two straight years.. and what the hell was up with Fred Jones winning the title? He didn't deserve it, he only got the title because he was 6'2".. nothing he did was creative. I'm looking forward to Vince competing with the likes of J.Rich, LeBron, Gerald Wallace and Andre Iguodala. F/F: Raptors will sign a veteran centre before the training camp to help out Araujo.
Fiction: I think Loren Woods is the "veteran" center to help out Araujo, I dont think the Raptors are investing anymore money into anyone this offseason. Fact: Donyell Marshall will be with another team by the end of the 2004-2005 season?
Fiction, although I think a trade might be a possibility.. I guess it depends on how Matt Bonner, Pape Sow (if they're signed) and Jerome Moiso performs. F/F: Chris Bosh will surprise everyone at the training camp/beginning of the season of how much weight he has put on during the summer.
lol...yah he'll bolt next time....UNLESS they make it far into the playoffs by then or something and he'll get hyped up and excited again like he did in 2001 and resign F/F We will get another superstar in return for Vince sometime soon or Vince will slowly fade away as the superstar and it will be Bosh's team, similar to a Duncan/Robinson thing in San An.
FACT: well fact to the latter, this is going to be Bosh's team no doubt. However I don't think VC will fade and CB4 will take over.....VC will leave and the Raps will build around CB4. F/F Raps will make a major trade come deadline this Feb.
