My predictions: G: Damon Jones SG: Dwanye wade SF: Eddie Jones PF: Udonis Haslem (?) C: Shaquille O'neal Off the bench they'll likely use a short rotation of Doleac, Dooling, Wright and Allen...however I dont think they're done signing key players so their lineup is very likely to change...
Starting Lineup PG-Dwyane Wade SG-Eddie Jones SF-Rasual Butler PF-Udonis Haslem C-Shaquille O'Neal Rotation PG-Damon Jones / Keyon Dooling SG-Damon Jones / Keyon Dooling / Dorell Wright SF-Jerome Beasley / Dorell Wright PF-Malik Allen / Jerome Beasley C-Michael Doleac / Wang ZhiZhi Wild Cards PF-Karl Malone C / PF-Albert Miralles PF-Matt Freije The heat need to add more depth to their bench :shakehead or pick up a starter at SG, SF and PF so Rasual and Udonis can keep the bench warm, and DJones or Keyon Dooling can stick to backup PGs

Karl Malone on the Injured Reserve? He deserves to start if we get him. He is one of the best defenders in the league and is a very underrated defender. Even at his age he could p ossibly be a missing piece to a puzzle. I'll [pst What I hope to be te starting line up since the thread is basically about starting line up C-Shaq- nuff said PF- Karl Malone(able to defend East big men like Sheed and Jermaine easily He even was able to slow down KG and Timmy.) SF- Rasual Butler(a great 3 point threat. He hit a high percentage last year. This year it will only get better because of the open looks he'll get because of Shaq.) SG-Eddie Jones- a scoring threat PG- Dwyane Wade- His passes are sick and has no problem scoring either so he should start at the point.

Hell ya he deserves to start, especially with our PFs. Oh and the thread topic is starters but the post creator asked about bench players too.
What Heatfan said, but Damon Jones as a backup SG? He's small and has a below average shot. I expect he's only there to relief Dwyane from time to time at PG.
yeah i messed up, i meant to add that heat need to add depth to sg sf and pf AND they'll (djones dooling) have to do for now, unless jerome beasley can play sg but i dunno how good his shooting is...anywayz, edited... as I mentioned in another post about the signing of d.jones, if the heat can put d.jones to start at pg, they can move d wade up to sg, and e jones up to sf, which provides a temporary fix to their depth issue and their roster would look like this: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">PG-Damon Jones | Keyon Dooling SG-Dwyane Wade | Rasual Butler | Dorell Wright SF-Eddie Jones | Rasual Butler | Jerome Beasley | Dorell Wright PF-Udonis Haslem | Malik Allen | Jerome Beasley C-Shaquille O'Neal | Michael Doleac | Wang ZhiZhi</div>You also posted in that same thread and you were like 'Why are the heat adding more PGs' and everyone responded with the same answer

Your list meant he might be coming too. right? lol
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Ace2k2:</div><div class="quote_post">Your list meant he might be coming too. right? lol</div>exactly ...especially that the Lakers have traded GP after talking him back into returning for the Lakers...how would Karl Malone feel signing a 3 year deal just to find out he's been traded to a team that he doesn't want to play for OR traded to a team that isn't a title contendor? The only 3 choices for Karl are a) Spurs - Great chance at the title, doesn't have to start if he doesn't want to, it's his wife's home town. Heat - Good chance at the title, guaranteed starter, get's to play with close friend Shaquille O'Neal. c) Retirement - Maybe he wants to take up the job ABC/TNT is offering of being an analyst if his knee doesn't heal.
Jerome Beasley is gonna be good off the bench you watch, not the next Dwayne Wade but he will be good.
I thought we already had this thread? http://www.justbball.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22338 <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">PG - Dwyane Wade SG - Eddie Jones SF - Rasual Butler PF - Udonis Haslem C - Shaquille O'neal Bench PG/SG - Keyon Dooling SF/PF - Toni Kukoc SG/SF - Dorell Wright PF/C - Michael Doleac PF - Malik Allen</div> We have Damon now so: In the Damon Jones thread I had PG - Wade | Jones | Dooling SG - Jones | Wade | Wright SF - Butler | Wright | Beasley PF - Malone | Haslem | Allen C - Shaq | Doleac | Who Cares

My starting roster got updated with the addition of Wesley Person PG-Dwyane Wade SG-Eddie Jones SF-Wesley Person PF-Udonis Haslem C-Shaquille O'Neal
Wow come to think of it, the Heat line up isn't as bad as I thought. What do you guys think of Person and Haslem?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting i3crossover:</div><div class="quote_post">Karl should go to the Spurs with TD. They have a great chance of winnig.</div> Yep, That's basically garanteed but i want him to be a heat, where there's no guarantees.
I see either one of the young guys either Freije, Rasual, Beasley or Haslem (Wright's a gun but a little underdone) standing up big time and playing at a semistar level.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Tripl3:</div><div class="quote_post">My predictions: G: Damon Jones SG: Dwanye wade SF: Eddie Jones PF: Udonis Haslem (?) C: Shaquille O'neal </div> I think this lineup would be most effective to start out games, because Damon Jones can take some of the ball handling & ball distrubition load off of Wade. Which would allow Wade to free lance & focus on his on offensive game a little instead of mainly focusing on being the point and distrubting the basketball. Also I dont think Wade knows how to playoff a bigman effectively yet as a pg, so playing him at the off-guard would help with that as well, because in the olympics he had a hard time doing simple point guard things like getting the ball in the piant with crisp pass to the bigman(who was Duncan of course on Team USa). His turnover rate trying to make pass in the paint area was pretty high. I think DJ could better handle things like post entry pass etc. I think Wade would better fit at the off-guard for now, even though his jumpshot is a bit shakey for a two. But after the starting five, Van Gundy going to have to play the rotation by feel because I think a guy like Wesley Person is going to have to have a big role on this team due to the fact that his jumper is needed to stretch the defense for shaq. And after Person the consistency as far as perimeter shooting becomes rather slim on this team. EJ, DJ, Wade can all make perimeter shots but lack consistency, so Person's jumpshot will be key for this team due to the shooting drop off after him.
