And one more thing, I dont think Ming will get much better if he doesnt get more aggressive...he should be getting over 10 boards a game, and should be demanding the ball all the time in the post, and his conditioning is very poor.

Why am I not surprised this is coming from a Kobe fan I get it, he'll bump heads like Kobe did with Shaq stay selfish all season long, breaking the plays the coach write up, make it to the finals and screw the entire team for his own personal reasons.
T-Mac was the center of the offense because if he wasn't, then the Magic wouldn't have even won 21 games....
Thats great news, I cant wait either...This is the first I've seen TMac this excited ever since his first year in Orlando, except now he's surrounded with another star and great supporting role players...
How the heck does Tracy McGrady not work hard. Jump shooting ability, ball handling skills dont just come naturally.
Of course he works hard. But from his former team's view: Not hard enough. In T-Mac's defense, 2 seasons ago, they werent that bad at all. They came in last year confident . . . to an extent. The Magic thought Tracy didnt make his team mates better, but he was doing the best he could (or he so said). Tracy and Kobe both had superstars on their teams (VC and Shaq). They both thought they were being held back. Vince was going into, if not already in, the prime of his career, while Shaq, who had a pretty ok year, was getting older. Both teams wanted sucess, but the Raps knew that it was sitting in front of them, the Lakers knew that they could achieve it if they went young. If you look 10 years from now, Shaq will be in his 40s, Kobe in his 30s. Shaq might not be playing, and Kobe, unless injured or something, will still be. If you had a 40 year old Shaq, and a 30 year old Kobe, who would you want to build your team around? Back on track here, Tracy felt the same way, it's either me, or him. They chose him (Carter), because they knew he could give them something right now, and something 10 years from now. McGrady became a super-star, and sorta became like Vince, became the leader of his team. After a few good seasons, the Magic go through a bump on the road. They had the first pick, and a chance at Emeka or Dwight. The Magic, like the Raptors and Lakers, had a choice between raw talent, and a "superstar" that cant lead his team anywhere close to .500. I think the Magic always had their sites on seeing McGrady out, McGrady, as would so many players in the league, said that if they didnt do something, he'll leave after the coming season. The MAgic saw this as a chance to rebuild the team. And all this started happening. I wonder if the Magic would've chosen Dwight if McGrady stayed. The fact that he's working hard shouldnt be suprising, if he wasnt, then we'd have a problem. He should be working harder than before, because now he knows that the standard has been raised, that heis starting over. He should be working harder his first season in Houston, than the first in Orlando. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">And one more thing, I dont think Ming will get much better if he doesnt get more aggressive...he should be getting over 10 boards a game, and should be demanding the ball all the time in the post, and his conditioning is very poor.</div> Of course thats true. When Yao came, Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley had already established themselves as leaders of the team. If you think about it, the only person that has played in Houston longer than Yao is Mo Taylor, who comes off the bench. Mo was even injured a season. Yao now should be demanding the ball, and talking to his team-mates when they dont perform. Just like Hakeem. Yao doesnt need to be a vocal leader, he can lead by example. I think the Olympics help Yao in the sense that he is the first option on the CNT. And he knows that. He knows that if he doesnt post up 20, even 15 points a game, that their chances of winning drop severely. And the thing I like the most, is taht when Yao comes back for mini-camp, he'll be tired out. And he'll (hopefully) realise that he has to devote the same effort for the Rockets as he has been doing for the CNT. Thats where conditioning comes in. Stamina, Endurance, Determination. He'll learn that if he doesnt do it himself, he cant ask anyone else to. Just like Steve learned last season. We all knew Steve was the leader of the team. Now its Yao's turn. Yao could be like Hakeem, they get to the finals, when he's so Young, but they lose out. But the next time it comes around, he'll dominate. Hakeem is the greatest Rocket of all time (IMO), but if you think about it, it took him a while to establish himself, sure he was dominant. But it took him a while to be a champion. He needed to take control, and have a second man, that would let him do his thing (Clyde Drexler). And that, is something all Rockets fans hope Yao and Tracy will become. I dont like the "Next Shaq and Kobe" I like the "Next Hakeem and Clyde." It took them a while to win it, but they finally did.
I think Tmac said it best when he was asked about it in an interview. " IF I didn't work hard, I wouldn't be doing the things I be doing in the games." (or something like that)
man i don't know why everone hates on T-Mac! maybe it's because they expected him to take a team of players who wouldn't even make starting spots on other teams to the finals? i too would get over that pressure of being expected to carry a team. He still worked hard up until the end of the season. now he has a chance to share the load with some great players in H-Town PS, how can you not work hard and still socre 30+ every game?
It's just the haters talking McGrady1. Mac went to ORL to be a player alongside G. Hill and the promise of getting Duncan. Walker told Mac in TOR that he;d be out of the L in 3 years. Mac has become more valuable than VC has. ORL was lucky he turned out to be a great talent, because they would have sunk and probably lost the team to another city if he didnt. Macv works hard, and it shows. Noone stopped him from leading the L in scoring for sure. If that just comes natural for Mac then he's better than I thought he was. Imagine a lazy guy being a superstar. Added to that watch out next year because he's working out now. If he can be an all-star being lazy, what will he be working out then? LOL at the hater/kobe fanboys
T-Mac came to the Rockets knowing Yao is the first option. In fact, he wanted to be traded to Houston for that reason. I don't see how he'd NOT try to share the ball with Yao. He knows that the team was torn apart and rebuilt AROUND the big man, so he shouldn't expect to be "the man". Another reason he wanted to be with the Rockets is so he doesn't HAVE to score 40+ points for his team to win. I think he'll do just fine. Yao will also be more of a leader, IMO. He realizes the team was rebuilt around him, and for the team to be successful, he has to be the one to take them to the next level. It's a lot of pressure, but I'm sure he can handle it. There's billions watching him in the Olympics this summer. He's probably used to it by now.
Yao Ming is good, but I have worries about him as our first option. To me , there are 4 big guys that i would take over him anyday, (KG, Shaq, TD, Jermaine) . I think that half way through the season T-Mac will have to take control and become the man. They should use T-Mac in the high post like with Mike in Chicago. T-Mac right now is far superior than Yao Ming, so at first I think it will be T-Mac and Yao. It may be that way forever. Remember this is the guy who averaged 32, 6, and 6 while playing in the stingy defensive era.
Yao shoots over 50% from the field and over 80% from the line. That alone should indicate that he should be the first option. If he's doubled, T-Mac will get the ball back and will be able to create. It's only common sense to try to get the easiest shots, most high percentage shots first, and if that option is not available, then T-Mac can do his thing (which should happen a lot, esp with the shot clock winding down).

He's a good big man -- probably the best last year in the East, but no way I'd take him over Yao.
