There are great Sharks fans, A's fans, Giants Fans, Raiders fans, and Niners fans all in there too, among others. The fans who stay true to the Warrior blue though are great. [IMG]

This is tangential, but why in the world is Atlanta ranked 13th?

I've always thought of Atlanta as one of the worst sports towns in the country. They never show up for Hawks games, they don't really care about the Braves until the playoffs, and even though football rules in Georgia, you don't hear that much about the Falcons, despite the fact that they have the most exciting player in the league as their starting qb.

I listen to a lot of sports talk radio shows, and I honestly don't ever remember hearing anyone from Atlanta ever call into any national radio show.

Are you kidding me???!? How in the world is Philadelphia only 9th?!! Before I read the article I would have thought that it would be ranked at least in the top 3, maybe even no. 1. It's a great sports city that loves its teams and supports hard workers, and more importantly isn't afraid to say what they feel.. hell, they even booed Santa Claus. These rankings are pretty bad, to say the least.

ugh I think there should be a second ranking for sports dollar revenue (the most profitable cities for sports industries). And why is Cleveland ranked so low? They actually have a pretty big market for sports, more than Toronto I'd say. What exactly are they basing these rankings on? Not that I'm unhappy with the bay area's ranking at #2, but I disagree with a lot of these rankings. I do agree though that Boston Fans and Bay Area fans are pretty diehard in any sport, a bit more than New York I'd say, but not by far. New York fans will tell you they are the number 1, but all my friends from Boston and the bay area proved to be the pretty hardcore fans that are absolutely dedicated to their team. Raiders fans are the sickest btw! Then again I've got more friends from Boston than I do from New York, because most people I know from NY just get on my nerves. But, I've spent some time living on the East coast and I'd say Boston and Bay Area fans are the most faithful and non-bandwagoning fans for almost any sport IMO.

Raiders fans cant even sell out their own stadium! I definately think Philly should be up in the top 5 at least.

Toronto at 26? What's that? The Raptors suck, and yet they draw 17,000 fans each game. The Leafs sell out almost every team. The CFL team, Argos, draw 20,000 fans, and even the minor league hockey team sell out. The Blue Jays also draw a fair amount of fans. Toronto should be up there in the top 10 IMO.

Its just because they are biased against Canada. If toronto was on the east coast, they would be in the top 5.

Tampa is ahead of Seattle??? How? Just because the Lightning won the Stanley Cup, they think that that makes them a better sports town. They should go talk to all 27 of the baseball fans.

I Think the entire San Fransico-Oakland-San Jose Bay Area is a very excellent market for sports in general.

Were lucky to have,2 Baseball teams like the Oakland A's,San Fransico Giants,2 NFL Teams Oakland Raiders,San Fransico 49ers,An NBA Team(i won't name the franchise, cause we all know it's the Kings..Err Warriors)NHL Team San Jose Sharks, and Soccer the San Jose Earthquakes

This whole market offers a smorgasboard of sports franchises for any fan.

I Think were lucky to have plenty of sports teams in the area.

Don't forget Arena Football, just like the San Jose Earthquakes won their championship, the San Jose Sabercats won theirs. There should be a San Jose NBA team maybe [IMG]

I remember when the W's were for sale a long time back, there was talk of moving them down there. I lived down there at the time, it would have been cool, though they lack space in San Jose. It would have been more like the San Jose Suburb Warriors.

Man who cares though, it's a good sports city. Plenty of potential season ticket holders, corporate sponsorships, and not to mention it's easier to travel through since its not an old city like Boston or San Fran.
